Please check that both of the Rack Ears are present in the kit. They are not identical – one is for the left side and one is for the right. The kit contains:

1x ZED10RK19 Rack Ears (AA7899-L/R)

1x ZED10 Rack Filler Panel (AA7900)

4x M3x8 Pan torx screws (AB0073)

4x M3 Nylock nuts (AB0102)

8x M4x8 Pan torx screws (AB0332)

8x M4 Nylock nuts (AB0188)

1x ZED 10 19″ Rack Ears Fitting Instructions (AP7956)

The following tools are required for the installation:

25-30mm flat bladed screw driver

No.1 & No.2 Posi drivers

T10 & T20 Torx drivers

Small adjustable spanner or 5.5mm(M3) & 7mm(M4) sockets

Before attempting to fit the Rack Ears, ensure power is disconnected. Remove all power to the unit and disconnect any signal cables where necessary.

To fit the Rack Ears, you must first remove both plastic side trims, which are attached with screws located inside the mixer. Follow these steps:

1. Remove six M3x6mm screws from under the mixer (3 at the front of the base, 3 on the rear of the mixer).

2. Remove six cross-head screws on the top panel (3 on the left-hand side, 3 on the right-hand side).

3. Carefully remove the top panel by gently pulling the back end upwards and sliding the panel forward. Place the top panel on the left-hand side of the mixer base. Be careful not to pull on the connecting power cable.

4. It is now necessary to remove the power supply PCB which is fitted to the base panel. Do this by removing six M3x6mm screws. Please retain these screws. It is not necessary to remove the Green/Yellow earthing wire. Carefully move the power supply PCB to one side while removing the side trim screws.

5. Note that the 2 screws on the mains inlet socket do not need to be unscrewed.

6. The plastic side trims can now be removed by unscrewing five cross-head screws from each side trim. If the side trims may need to be re-fitted later, it is suggested that the screws are ‘partly’ re-inserted into the side trim for safe keeping to avoid possible internal damage.

1. Fit the rack ears to the left and right sides using eight M4x8mm screws and nylock nuts with a T20 driver. There are 4 screws on each side. To determine which rack ear is left or right, the surface that screws to the mixer is cut diagonally at the rear, as is the filler panel.

2. Now fit the filler panel to the rear of the base by attaching it to the rack ears using four M3x8mm screws and nylock nuts.

1. Carefully re-fit the power supply PCB by first positioning the PCB using the 6 screw holes in the mixer base with those on the PCB. Re-fit with six M3x6mm screws, taking care not to over-tighten.

2. The complete top section can now be re-fitted to the base, taking care not to trap the power cable.

3. Fit the six cross-head screws to the front panel first, then fit the six M3x6mm screws to the base and back panel of the unit.

Secure the assembly to the rack using suitable rack screws and washers.
