The ADVANTECH EKI-1221 is a 1-port Modbus data gateway that integrates new and existing Modbus RTU/ASCII and newer Modbus TCP networked-base devices. How do I perform a panel or wall mount installation for the ADVANTECH EKI-1221?
The ADVANTECH EKI-1221 can be attached to a wall using the included metal brackets. Each bracket comes with four screws. You can install the EKI-1221 firmly via these components.
How do I mount the ADVANTECH EKI-1221 on a DIN-rail?
The ADVANTECH EKI-1221 can be mounted on a standard DIN-rail. The DIN-rail kit is screwed on the Modbus data gateway when out of factory. If the DIN-rail kit is not screwed on the EKI-1221, please screw the DIN-rail kit on the Modbus data gateway first.
1. First, hang the EKI-1221 to the DIN-rail with an angle of inclination.
2. Then, let the EKI-1221 down straight to slide over the rail smoothly.
How do I connect power to the ADVANTECH EKI-1221 and what is the power-fail relay?
The ADVANTECH EKI-1221 supports dual +12 to 48 VDC power inputs and a power-fail relay output. The power terminal block has connections for two power sources (V1+, V1- and V2+, V2-) and a power-fail relay (P-Fail).
You can connect an alarm or other signaling equipment through the power-fail relay output. The relay opens if power input V1 or V2 fails. “Open” means if you connect the relay output with an LED, the light will shut off.
How do I install the software for the ADVANTECH EKI-1221?
1. Insert the Driver Utility CD-ROM into the PC to install the Serial Device Server Configuration Utility.
2. Use Windows explorer or the Windows Run command to execute the setup program on the CD-ROM: Utility&Driver\SerialDeviceServerConfigurationUtility. The setup program name will be: Serial_Device_Server_Configuration_Utility_[Version]_Release_[Date].exe.
3. Then, follow the on-screen instructions.
