The LCD display on the UNIDEN AT8601 shows the following information:

1. Date Time: Displays the current date and time.

2. In: Indicates an incoming call.

3. OUT: Indicates an outgoing call.

4. NEW REP: Indicates a new call or a repeat call. (REP) will show if the same number calls more than once.

5. Message: Indicates a message is waiting (if this service is supported by your provider).

Phone number display: Shows the phone number for incoming or outgoing calls.

The LED indicators on the UNIDEN AT8601 have the following meanings:

• New Call Indicator: Flashes for new, unanswered calls.

• In Use: Lit when the phone is off-hook (handset lifted or speakerphone is active).

• Message: Indicates a new voicemail message (service dependent).

• Mute: Lit when the mute function is active.

To set the date and time on your UNIDEN AT8601, follow these steps:

1. Press the SET button.

2. The display will show “1 DATE”. Press SET again.

3. Use the UP / DOWN buttons to select the correct Year, Month, Day, Hour, and Minute, pressing SET after each selection to confirm and move to the next item.

To set the local area code on your UNIDEN AT8601, follow these steps:

1. Press the SET button.

2. Press the UP button. The display will show “2 CODE”. Press SET.

3. Use the UP / DOWN buttons to select your area code.

4. Press SET to confirm. Caller ID numbers received that have an area code matching the one set will be filtered.

To set the PCODE for use behind a PABX system on your UNIDEN AT8601:

1. Press the SET button.

2. Press the UP button until the display shows “3 PCODE”. Press SET.

3. Use the UP / DOWN buttons to select your PABX code.

4. Press SET to confirm.

Note: This feature will only work in pre-dialing mode.

To set up the Auto IP feature, which is a code to access a special IP call service, on your UNIDEN AT8601:

1. Press the SET button.

2. Press the UP button until the display shows “4 AUTO IP”. Press SET.

3. Use the UP / DOWN buttons to select “AutoIP On” mode. Press SET.

4. The display will show “INPUT CODE”. Enter your Auto IP code using the number keys (0-9).

5. Press SET to confirm.

Note: This feature will only work in pre-dialing mode and only if you have this local service.

To set the alarm clock on your UNIDEN AT8601, follow these steps:

1. Press the SET button.

2. Press the UP button until the display shows “5 ALERT”. Press SET.

3. Use the UP / DOWN buttons to select the Hour and Minute for the alarm, and to turn the alarm On or Off.

4. Press SET after each selection to confirm.

To set the flash time on your UNIDEN AT8601:

1. Press the SET button.

2. Press the UP button until the display shows “6 FLASH”. Press SET.

3. Use the UP / DOWN buttons to select the desired flash time from the options: 110/300/600/1000ms.

4. Press SET to confirm.

On the UNIDEN AT8601, the “New” indicator on the LCD and the flashing “New Call Indicator” LED signify that there is a new incoming call that has not been answered or checked. The indicator will stop flashing once you review the call in the call log. The indicator will also shut off if any key is pressed or the handset is lifted off the hook.

To check incoming calls on your UNIDEN AT8601, press the UP or DOWN button to enter the incoming calls log. The LCD will display the call numbers, date, time, etc. To dial back a number from the call log, press the RD button twice to dial the displayed number using either the speakerphone or by lifting the handset. You can also dial back the long distance telephone number only under unlock status.

To check the log of outgoing calls on your UNIDEN AT8601, press the OUT button. This will show the outgoing call records. If you want to redial the checked numbers, press the RD button twice, then use the hand-free button or pick up the handset.

To adjust the LCD contrast on your UNIDEN AT8601, press the FLASH button while the phone is in the on-hook state (not in use). This will allow you to select from 5 levels of LCD brightness.

To use the pre-dial function on your UNIDEN AT8601, simply input the phone number while the phone is on-hook. If you enter the wrong number, you can press the DEL button to make corrections. After entering all the numbers, you can press the RD button, the hand-free button, or pick up the receiver to dial the number.

After your UNIDEN AT8601 receives an FSK or DTMF CID number, it will automatically display the caller’s information. If the call is from a known FSK system, the caller ID signals will automatically refresh the month, day, and time settings. For a DTMF signal, only the call number will be shown, without the date and time. The unit will show the incoming number and the pre-set time and date.

The CID Display Status can show:

• “P” – private call.

• “O” – out of area.

• “E” – incorrect CID no.

The DEL button on the UNIDEN AT8601 has two functions:

1. In Pre-dial state (when you are entering a number before dialing), a short press of the DEL button is for deleting incorrect input numbers.

2. When displaying incoming or outgoing calls, a short press of the DEL button deletes the current record being viewed. A long press of the DEL button can delete all records (both incoming and outgoing calls).

To adjust the volume of the speakerphone on your UNIDEN AT8601, press the VOL button while in the hands-free state. You can adjust the volume between 2 levels.

On your UNIDEN AT8601, you can select the ringer volume level between High, Low, or Off when receiving calls.

The UNIDEN AT8601 will automatically record the call duration on the LCD screen when you make an outgoing call or receive an incoming call.

To use the Mute function on your UNIDEN AT8601 during a hands-free call, press the MUTE button. The Mute LED will turn on. Press the button again to turn the mute function off. At the same time, if you long-press the MUTE button, it will cancel the mute function and the mute lamp will shut off.

If you have set up the Auto IP feature in the menu on your UNIDEN AT8601, when you pre-dial or dial back an outgoing call, if the first number is “0”, the telephone will automatically add the setup IP number before dialing the rest of the number. This feature is not available in Hong Kong.

Please take special care to follow the safety suggestions listed below for the UNIDEN AT8601.

• Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.

Installations Environment

1. Avoid putting the phone near heating appliances and devices that generate electrical noise (for example, motors or fluorescent lamps).

2. Do NOT expose to direct sunlight or moisture.

3. Avoid dropping the telephone or other rough treatment to the phone.

4. Clean the phone with a soft cloth.

5. Never use a strong cleaning agent or abrasive powder because this will damage the unit.

6. Avoid dropping the handset, as well as other rough treatment to the phone.

Placement

1. Do not place heavy objects on top of this unit.

2. Take care so that fallen small objects do not fall onto, and liquid into, the unit. Do not subject this unit to excessive smoke, dust, mechanical vibration or shock.
