TRIPP LITE TLP606USB (02) PDF SUMMARY:

How should I install my surge suppressor on a wall or other sturdy, vertical surface?

If desired, mount your surge suppressor on a wall or other sturdy, vertical surface. However, you must mount the surge suppressor prior to connecting your equipment. Place a sheet of paper over the surge suppressor’s mounting holes and mark their centers with a push pin. Next, place this template over the desired area and mark with the push pins. Install screws (user supplied) into the marks until ¼ in. (0.6 cm) of the screw heads are exposed. Mount the surge suppressor over the screw heads and slide into place.

How do I install the surge suppressor to a desk, table or workbench?

To install, loosen the two mounting clamps, then slide the suppressor firmly onto the edge of an appropriate surface. Retighten the mounting clamps.

How do I connect my surge suppressor to the AC power line?

Plug the surge suppressor’s power cord into a standard, 3-wire grounded 120V AC outlet.

How do I turn my surge suppressor ON?

Press the surge suppressor’s power switch to “ON” or “RESET” (depending on model). Select models feature an illuminated switch.

What should I do before connecting my equipment to the surge suppressor?

If your surge suppressor features diagnostic LEDs, check them prior to connecting your equipment. They will indicate various operating conditions when the surge suppressor is plugged into a live 120V AC outlet and the surge suppressor’s power switch is on.

What does the “PROTECTED” LED indicate on my surge suppressor?

The “PROTECTED” LED indicates the surge suppression components are intact and providing complete protection against surges. If this LED does not illuminate, some of the surge suppression components are not functioning, and the unit should be replaced. Visit http://www.tripplite.com/support.

What does the “GROUNDED” LED indicate on my surge suppressor?

The “GROUNDED” LED indicates the wall outlet is grounded and surge protection can properly function. If this light DOES NOT illuminate and power is present, consult a qualified electrician to examine your outlet’s wiring.

How do I connect my equipment to the surge suppressor’s AC outlets?

Plug your equipment’s power cords (including 2-wire devices) into the surge suppressor’s AC outlets. Models feature special widely-spaced outlets to accommodate transformers without covering other outlets.

Can I plug in extension cords to the surge suppressor?

DO NOT plug in extension cords.

What is the maximum load the surge suppressor can accommodate?

The surge suppressor can accommodate a total equipment load of up to 15 amps (whether plugged into a single outlet or spread out over multiple outlets).

What happens if the load on the surge suppressor exceeds 15 amps?

If the load on the surge suppressor exceeds 15 amps, the circuit breaker will trip and the outlets will stop providing power. If the circuit breaker trips, reduce the load by unplugging some devices.

What is the maximum output of the USB charging ports?

Two USB charging ports are capable of delivering up to 2.1 A total. This will provide enough power to charge the most demanding devices, including smartphones, tablets and MP3 players.

Are the USB charging ports controlled by the master power switch on the unit?

Yes, the charging ports are controlled by the master power switch on the unit.

What conditions must be met for the Ultimate Lifetime Insurance Policy to be valid?

To claim damages, the Tripp Lite product must be plugged into a properly wired and grounded outlet. No extension cords or other electrical connections may be used. The installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety codes set forth by the National Electrical Code (NEC).

What kind of damage is not covered under the Ultimate Lifetime Insurance Policy?

This warranty does not cover any damage to properly connected electronic equipment resulting from a cause other than an “AC power transient”. No coverage is allowed for damage entering from telephone or data lines, unless they are separately protected.

When will Tripp Lite repair or replace directly connected equipment damaged by transients on telephone and/or data lines?

Tripp Lite will repair or replace directly connected equipment that is damaged by transients on telephone and/or data lines only when all such paths are protected by a Tripp Lite protection product(s) and the AC power (utility) line is simultaneously protected by a Tripp Lite power protection device (UPS, surge suppressor or line conditioner) with Ultimate Lifetime Insurance coverage.

What are the conditions where the warranty is null and void?

All above warranties are null and void if the Tripp Lite product has been improperly installed, tampered with or altered in any way, or if the connected equipment was not used under normal operating conditions or in accordance with any labels or instructions.

How long do I have to submit a warranty claim?

All claims under this warranty must be submitted in writing to Tripp Lite within 30 days of the occurrence or the claim will not be considered.

What does the warranty not cover?

This warranty does not include damage resulting from accident or misuse, and applies to the domestic (USA & Canada) use of these products only.

What must I do to receive service under this warranty?

To receive service under this warranty, you must be the original purchaser/user of the product in question. You must obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number from Tripp Lite. Products must be returned to Tripp Lite with transportation charges prepaid and must be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered and proof of date and place of purchase.
