Please adhere to the following safety guidelines when using your TRAFALGAR TFMZSPEBKBB electric blanket:

• Read all instructions in the user guide carefully and retain it for future reference.

• This electric blanket must not be connected to an external switching device, such as a timer, to avoid hazards from inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out.

• This blanket is not for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the electric blanket. Children under 3 are not to use this blanket due to their inability to react to heat.

• If the power cord is damaged, cease use immediately.

• Use only the voltage specified on the rating label.

• This blanket is for household and indoor use only.

• Always unplug the blanket when not in use.

• Check for visible signs of damage before use. If damaged, do not use it.

• It is recommended to plug the blanket directly into an electrical outlet. An undamaged extension cord may be used if done so in a safe manner.

• Do not operate with the cord coiled up, as this can cause heat build-up.

• Do not use heavy or dense blankets on top of this electric blanket, as it may lead to overheating.

• The power cord must be routed to the head of the bed to prevent being sat or rolled on.

• Do not trap, wrap, or fold cords between bed slats, mattresses, springs, or against walls and headboards.

• Do not pinch, flex, or expose the heating wire. A damaged heating wire may cause a fire hazard or injury.

• This blanket is not for medical use in hospitals, nor should it be used on a damp mattress, waterbed, or adjustable bed.

• Ensure your hands are dry before handling the electric blanket.

• Do not use pins, needles, safety pins, or other sharp items on the blanket.

• Keep pets away from the electric blanket.

• Never use the blanket to dry clothes.

• Do not tuck in the electric blanket, as this may cause overheating and/or fire.

• Only operate the blanket with the provided controller.

• Never sleep with the electric blanket on. Always turn it off before sleeping.

• The blanket must not be powered on when folded. Always ensure it is laid flat without kinks or overlaps.

Follow these steps to correctly fit your electric blanket:

1. Place the electric blanket on the mattress with the skirt on top of the electric blanket. Ensure the end of the electric blanket with the controller is at the top end of the bed.

2. Position the power cord to prevent it being sat on or rolled on when getting in or out of the bed as this will damage it.

3. Once the electric blanket is in the correct position, fit the skirt over the mattress.

4. Connect the controller to the socket on the electric blanket. Then, plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and turn it on. The controller must be kept outside the bed and away from external sources of heat, such as heaters or bedside lamps.

• To switch on the electric blanket, slide the ON/OFF switch to the ‘ON’ position. The timer and temperature will illuminate on the display screen. The electric blanket will default to a medium setting for both ‘Body’ and ‘Feet’.

• Adjust your required body zone temperature or your feet zone temperature by pressing the ‘Body’ or ‘Feet’ buttons to select from 1-9 heat settings.

• Press the ‘Timer’ button to choose the heating time you need for your body and feet zones (2 hours or 10 hours). The electric blanket will turn off when the time has lapsed.

• To switch off the blanket, slide the ON/OFF switch to the ‘OFF’ position.

The temperature settings are categorized as follows:

• 1-3: low, gentle heat.

• 4-6: medium heat.

• 7-9: high heat.

When lying on the blanket some people may experience a tingling sensation. This tingling sensation is known as an electric field effect caused by the current flowing through the elements and creating an Electromagnetic Field (EMF). Some people may be more sensitive to feeling the EMF tingling sensation than others. It is known to occur across all makes and models. This is no cause for concern and is not an electric shock.

• Do not dry clean.

• Do not iron.

• Do not bleach.

• Do not use a wringer.

• Do not turn on the electric blanket until it is completely dry.

• Do not use mothballs or sprays of any kind.

1. Unplug and remove the controller from the electric blanket.

2. Apply a mild soap and lukewarm water solution to the affected area using a damp sponge. Ensure the water temperature is less than 30°C.

3. Gently sponge the affected area with clean water.

4. Use a neutral coloured towel to absorb excess water.

2. Fold and pre-soak the electric blanket for 15 minutes in a mild soap and lukewarm water solution. Ensure the water temperature is less than 30°C.

3. Gently squeeze the soap suds through for a few minutes.

4. Rinse the electric blanket in clean, lukewarm water.

2. Fold and pre-soak the electric blanket for 15 minutes in a mild soap and lukewarm water solution. Ensure the water temperature is less than 30°C.

3. Wash the electric blanket in mild soap and lukewarm water on the delicate or gentle cycle for 2 minutes.

4. Rinse in fresh lukewarm water.

5. Do not re-connect the controller or use the electric blanket until it is completely dry.

• Gently stretch the electric blanket to its original size.

• Air dry the electric blanket over a clothesline or towel rack.

• Do not use clothes pegs or clips of any kind.

• Do not re-connect the controller or use the electric blanket until it is completely dry.

• Always allow the electric blanket to cool before folding and storing.

• The electric blanket can remain on the bed all year round as a comfortable under-blanket.

• Remove the controller from the electric blanket before storing.

• If you wish to remove the electric blanket from your bed when not in use, roll or fold it loosely and store it in a blanket bag or the bag it was supplied in.

• Avoid creating sharp creases in the electric blanket, for example, do not store it under other items that may cause the wires to bend.
