This function allows you to check the operation of the indoor unit by itself, without communication with the remote controller or the outdoor unit. This function should only be used for a few minutes at a time to avoid causing trouble to the equipment.

How to operate:

1. Short-circuit the CHK pin (CN71 on the indoor P.C. board). The operation mode will differ depending on whether the unit’s status is normal or abnormal at that time.

2. During normal operation, if you also short-circuit the DISP pin (CN72) in addition to the CHK pin, the indoor PMV can be set to the minimum opening degree (30 pls). When the DISP pin is open, the maximum opening degree (1500 pls) can be obtained.

How to clear:

Open the CHK pin. The system will stop once and then automatically return to operation after several minutes.

This procedure must be performed only when the system is at rest.

1. Push the SET, TEMP up, and CL buttons simultaneously and hold for at least 4 seconds. The unit No. displayed first is the address of the header indoor unit in group control. The fan and louver of the selected indoor unit will move.

2. Each time the UNIT LOUVER button (left side of the button) is pressed, one of the indoor unit Nos. under group control is displayed in turn. The fan and louver of the selected indoor unit will move.

3. Use the TEMP buttons to select the CODE No. (DN code) of the desired function.

4. Use the TIME buttons to select the desired SET DATA associated with the selected function.

5. Push the SET button. (The display changes from flashing to steady.)

6. When the CL button is pushed, the system returns to its normal off state.

This function allows you to start and stop an air-to-air heat exchanger or a ventilating fan from the wired remote controller. The fan can be operated even if the indoor unit is not operating.

Operation (use the wired remote controller while the system is stopped):

1. Push the SET, CL, and VENT buttons concurrently for 4 seconds or more. The unit No. displayed first will indicate the header indoor unit address, and its fan will turn on.

2. By pressing the UNIT LOUVER button (left side), you can successively display the indoor unit numbers in the group control. The fan of the selected indoor unit will turn on.

3. Using the setup temp buttons, specify the CODE No. 31.

4. Using the timer time buttons, select the SET DATA. (Shipment default is 0000).

5. Push the SET button to confirm. (OK if the display stays on.)

6. Pushing the CL button will return the system to its usual stop status.

This procedure is used when indoor wiring is completed but outdoor wiring has not been started. Pair the indoor unit and the remote controller one-to-one, then turn on the power.

1. Push and hold the SET, CL, and TEST buttons at the same time for more than 4 seconds. The LCD will start flashing.

To set the Line (system) address:

2. Push the TEMP buttons repeatedly to set the CODE No. to 12.

3. Push the TIME buttons repeatedly to set the system address. Match this with the address on the interface P.C. board of the header outdoor unit in the same refrigerant line.

4. Push the SET button.

To set the Indoor unit address:

5. Push the TEMP buttons repeatedly to set the CODE No. to 13.

6. Push the TIME buttons repeatedly to set the indoor unit address.

7. Push the SET button.

To set the Group address:

8. Push the TEMP buttons repeatedly to set the CODE No. to 14.

9. Push the TIME buttons repeatedly to set a group address. If the indoor unit is individual, set the address to 0000; header unit, 0001; follower unit, 0002.

10. Push the SET button.

11. Push the CL button. The address setting is complete.

NOTE: Do not use address numbers 29 or 30 when setting system addresses, as they cannot be used on outdoor units and will cause an [E04] error.

This procedure works for individual or group-controlled units and should be performed while the units are running.

1. If the units are stopped, push the ON/OFF button to start them.

2. Push the UNIT LOUVER button (left side). A unit number like 1-1 will be shown on the LCD for a few seconds, indicating the system address and indoor unit address. For group-controlled units, pressing the button repeatedly will display the addresses of other connected units.

This method is for checking unit numbers controlled as a group and should be performed while the units are stopped.

1. Push and hold the VENT and FAN buttons at the same time for more than 4 seconds. “ALL” will appear on the UNIT No. display, and the fans and louvers of all indoor units in the group will activate.

2. Push the UNIT LOUVER button (left side). Each press will display an indoor unit number, starting with the header unit. Only the fan and louvers of the indicated indoor unit will activate, allowing you to identify its location.

3. Push the FAN button to finish the procedure. All indoor units in the group will stop.

This method can be used for an individual indoor unit or an indoor unit in a group, while the units are stopped.

1. Push and hold the SET, CL, and TEST buttons at the same time for more than 4 seconds.

2. For a group, push the UNIT LOUVER button (left side) repeatedly to select the indoor unit number you wish to change. The fan and louvers of the selected indoor unit will activate.

3. Push the TEMP buttons repeatedly to select 13 for the CODE No.

4. Push the TIME buttons repeatedly to change the value in the SET DATA section to the new address you want.

5. Push the SET button to confirm.

6. To change another unit’s address, push the UNIT LOUVER button (left side) again to select it, then repeat steps 4 to 6.

7. Push the UNIT LOUVER button (left side) to check the changed addresses.

8. If the addresses have been changed correctly, push the CL button to finish the procedure.

Clearing an error of the outdoor unit:

This clears the currently detected outdoor unit error for the connected refrigerant line.

1. Push and hold the CL and TEST buttons for 4 seconds or longer to enter the service monitoring mode.

2. Push the TEMP button to set the CODE No. to “FF”.

3. The display will count down from “0005” to “0000” in 5-second intervals. The error is cleared when “0000” appears.

4. Push the TEST button to return the display to normal.

Clearing an error of the indoor unit:

Push the ON/OFF button on the remote controller. This will only clear the error of the indoor unit controlled by that remote controller.

The service monitoring mode allows you to check sensor temperatures and operation status of the remote controller, indoor unit, and outdoor unit.

1. Push and hold the TEST and CL buttons for 4 seconds or longer to enter the service monitoring mode. The service monitor will light up, and the data for CODE No. 00 will appear first.

2. Push the TEMP button to change to the CODE No. of the item you wish to monitor.

3. Push the left part of the UNIT LOUVER button to change the specific item to monitor within that code.

4. Push the TEST button to return the display to normal.

The following behaviors are part of the normal operation of the air conditioner:

A compressor would not start: This could be the 3-minute delay period after shutdown, the unit reaching its set temperature (thermo OFF), or the unit being in fan mode or on a timer.

An indoor fan would not start: During heating, this could be the cold air discharge prevention control.

An outdoor fan would not start or would change speed for no reason: This can happen during cooling operation under low outside temperatures or during a defrosting operation.

An indoor fan would not stop: This could be the elimination of residual heat after a heating operation is shut down.

The air conditioner would not respond to a start / stop command from a remote controller: This may occur if the unit is being operated under an external or another remote controller.

This procedure is performed when the system is at rest. It allows access to up to four stored errors.

1. Press the CHK and SET buttons simultaneously and hold for at least 4 seconds. The “SERVICE CHECK” indicator will light up, and the check code “01” (latest error) will be displayed along with the indoor unit number.

2. To view other stored errors, press the TEMP button to cycle through the history from “01” (latest) to “04” (oldest).

3. When you are finished, press the CHK button to return to the normal display.

REQUIREMENT: Do not push the CL button during this process, as it will erase the entire error history of the indoor unit.

Error code E04 indicates an indoor-outdoor communication circuit error, meaning the indoor unit is not receiving a signal from the outdoor unit.

Locations to be checked:

1. Check the order in which power was turned on for the indoor and outdoor units.

2. Check the indoor address setting.

3. Check the indoor-outdoor tie cable.

4. Check the outdoor termination resistance setting (SW30, Bit 2).

Check code F01 indicates an error with the indoor heat exchanger temperature sensor (TCJ). The sensor may be open or short-circuited.

Locations to be checked:

1. Check the connection of the TCJ sensor connector and its wiring.

2. Check the resistance characteristics of the TCJ sensor.

3. Check for a defect in the indoor P.C. board.

Error code L08 indicates that the indoor group address has not been set. This commonly occurs when power is turned on for the first time after installation.

Action needed:

You need to check and set the indoor unit addresses.

Error code P10 indicates an indoor overflow error. This means the float switch has been activated due to high water level in the drain pan, or its circuit is open or disconnected.

Locations to be checked:

1. Check the float switch connector.

2. Check the operation of the drain pump.

3. Check the drain pump circuit.

4. Check the drain pipe for any clogging.

5. Check for a defect in the indoor P.C. board.

Error code P12 indicates an indoor DC fan error. The motor’s speed is deviating from its target, or its overcurrent protection has been activated.

Locations to be checked:

1. Check the connection of the fan motor connector and its wiring.

2. Check for a defect in the fan motor itself.

3. Check for a defect in the indoor P.C. board.

4. Check for impact from outside air if connected to a ventilation system.

5. Check the static pressure setting.

Replacing the indoor P.C. board involves three main procedures: reading the old data, replacing the hardware, and writing the data to the new board.

Procedure 1: Reading setting data from the old EEPROM

1. Before removing the old board, enter the service mode by pressing TEMP UP + SET + CL simultaneously for at least 4 seconds.

2. Record all the setting data for each DN code (from 01 to FF) by navigating with the TEMP and UNIT LOUVER buttons.

3. When finished, press the CL button to exit.

Procedure 2: Replacing the P.C. board

1. Replace the faulty P.C. board with the new service P.C. board. Ensure you replicate the old board’s jumper, switch, and connector settings on the new board.

2. Establish a one-to-one connection between the indoor unit being serviced and the remote controller to prepare for writing the new data.

Procedure 3: Writing setting data to the new EEPROM

1. Enter the service mode again (TEMP UP + SET + CL).

2. Select the indoor unit number you replaced.

3. First, set the unit’s type (DN code 10) and capacity (DN code 11) using the data you recorded. This is crucial as it overwrites factory defaults.

4. After setting the type and capacity, re-enter the service mode and write all other on-site setting changes (addresses, etc.) that you recorded in Procedure 1.

5. Check each value against your recorded data. If there is a discrepancy, change the setting and press the SET button.

6. When all settings are confirmed and written, press the CL button to finish.

1. Detachment

Slide the filter toward the opposite side of the arrow mark and then pull it out. In cases where two filters are provided, pulling out the first filter will allow the second filter to be pulled out connected with the first.

2. Attachment

Insert the filter into the filter rail toward the arrow mark, slide it until it stops, and then fix it. If two filters are provided, insert the second filter in the same direction after inserting the first filter.

1. Detachment

1. Open the electric parts box cover.

2. Remove fan motor wiring connectors (CN333 and CN334) from the control P.C. board.

3. Open and remove the fan case (under) by pressing the claws on both sides.

4. Remove the fixing screws (Ø5 x 10, 2 pcs.) of the fixing plate at the side of the fan motor.

5. While supporting the fan motor, remove the fixing plate from the motor base to remove the fan motor.

6. Loosen the hexagonal screw of the fan and pull the fan from the shaft (Hexagon wrench: 3mm).

2. Attachment

1. Insert the fan onto the shaft, aligning the hexagonal screw hole with the groove of the shaft.

2. Secure the fan motor with the fixing plate (Ø5 x 10, 2 pcs.).

3. Position the fan at the center of the fan case (upper) and fix it with the hexagonal screw. Tighten with a torque wrench to 4.9N·m or more.

4. Attach the fan case (under) and check that the fan turns smoothly.

5. Connect the fan motor wirings and close the electric parts box cover.

6. Reattach the air filter and suction panel.

1. Detachment

1. Remove the drain cap and drain any accumulated water into a bucket.

2. Loosen the screws fixing the bottom base (3 positions, or 2 at the center for AP036 models).

3. Slide the assembly in the arrow direction; it will open on its hinge.

4. Hold the handle of the drain pan and pull it off slowly. CAUTION: Do not hold the drain socket, as water leakage may be caused.

2. Attachment

1. First hook the thin side of the drain pan to the discharge panel, then push in the thick side.

2. Close the bottom base and fix it with the screws.
