To reverse the door opening on your TOMADO TRT5501W, it is best to do this with two people. Before you begin, remove the plug from the socket and remove all items from the appliance.

1. Remove the two screws from the back of the appliance to release the top.

2. Remove the top. Place the part in a safe location.

3. Unscrew the screws from the upper hinge and remove the door. Carefully lift the door from the lower hinge and place it on a blanket or something similar to prevent scratches.

4. Remove the lower hinge from the door of the freezer compartment. Remove the door and place it on a blanket or something similar to prevent scratches.

5. Move the lock of the freezer door to the other side.

6. Move the cover caps of the hinge to the other side.

7. Place the hinge on the left side. Turn the freezer door around and attach the door to the hinge.

8. Unscrew the screws from the lower hinge. Remove both adjustable feet.

9. Screw the pin out of the lower hinge and turn the hinge around by 180 degrees. Then screw the pin back in the lower hinge.

10. Place the lower hinge and attach both adjusting feet.

11. Place the door against the appliance and make sure the bottom side is properly placed on the lower hinge. Make sure the door is straight in relation to the exterior of the freezer. Place the upper hinge and screw it tight.

12. Place the top. Make sure that the top is properly aligned, both horizontally and vertically. Screw the top back onto the back.

13. Carefully remove the door rubber and rotate it 180° before you attach it again.

14. Install the handle on the door and place the cover caps.

Allow the appliance to rest for approximately 3 hours before inserting the plug into the socket.

Usage and Purpose:

• Only use this appliance for the purposes described in the instruction manual. The appliance is suitable for storing food and freezing fresh food in the freezer section.

• This appliance is intended for household and similar use, such as in staff kitchens, shops, offices, by guests of hotels, motels, in Bed&Breakfast type environments, and on farms.

• Only use the appliance indoors.

Electrical Safety:

• The appliance must be connected to an alternating current supply, via an earthed wall socket, with a mains voltage that matches the information on the information plate.

• Do not use single/multiple adaptors or extension cords at the rear of the appliance.

• Never bend the power cord sharply or allow it to run across hot parts.

• The connection point, socket and/or plug must always be accessible.

• Do not use the appliance if the plug, cord or appliance are damaged, or if it is no longer functioning properly. Never replace the plug or cord yourself.

• Do not pull the cord and/or appliance to remove the plug from the wall socket. Never touch the plug with wet or moist hands.

• Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance must be cleaned or repaired.

Child Safety:

• Make sure that children are unable to play with the appliance, such as hide inside it. This is dangerous.

• Keep the appliance and cord out of reach of children younger than 8 years of age.

• The appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older and persons with a limited physical, sensory or mental capacity, provided they use the appliance under supervision or have been instructed about its safe use.

• The appliance must not be cleaned or maintained by children, unless this is done under supervision.

Installation and Handling:

• The appliance must be moved and installed by two or more persons.

• During installation, make sure the power cable is not damaged and does not run along sharp edges.

• Be careful when moving the appliance to prevent damaging the floor.

• Install the appliance on a sturdy, flat and stable surface in a dry and well-ventilated room.

General Cautions:

• Be careful with ice cubes and ice pops. If these are consumed directly out of the freezer, there is a risk of frostbite.

• Do not store explosive or highly flammable substances. The vapours could cause a fire hazard or an explosion.

• Do not store glass bottles or jars with liquids in the freezer, as they could break when frozen.

• Never submerge the appliance, cord or plug in water.

• Do not use mechanical, electrical or chemical agents to speed up the defrosting process.

• Repairs to electrical appliances should only be performed by skilled persons.

For proper installation of your TOMADO TRT5501W, please follow these guidelines:

• Install the appliance on a sturdy, flat, and stable surface.

• To ensure proper ventilation, a free space of 10 cm should be maintained around the appliance.

• Do not place the appliance too close to a heat source. Do not place heat-generating appliances such as microwave ovens on top of it.

• Never cover the ventilation holes.

• Install the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated room. The appliance is intended for use in a room where the ambient temperature falls within the applicable climate class, which can be found on the information plate on the back of the appliance.

Required Space for Placement:

Ensure sufficient room to be able to open the door. The appliance is not suitable for use as a built-in appliance.

The refrigerant isobutene (R600a) is located in the refrigerant circuit of the TOMADO TRT5501W. This is a natural and highly environmentally friendly gas, but it is still combustible. During transport and installation, make sure that no parts of the refrigerant circuit are damaged.

WARNING: Risk of fire / combustible material

If the refrigerant circuit gets damaged:

• Avoid open fire and ignition sources.

• Thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is located.

It is hazardous to change the specifications or adapt this product in any way. Damages to the mains cord could lead to short circuit, fire and/or electric shocks.

To prevent food contamination, please observe the following instructions:

• Opening the door for a longer period of time can considerably increase the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.

• Clean surfaces that come in contact with food and open drain systems regularly.

• Store raw meat and fish products in suitable containers in the fridge, making sure they do not make contact with or drip on other food.

• Two-star frozen food compartments are suitable for storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice cream and making ice cubes.

• Compartments with one, two or three stars are not suitable for freezing fresh food.

Store different food products in accordance with the compartments or the required storage temperature for the products that you bought.

The TOMADO TRT5501W is energy-efficient. To save even more energy, follow these tips:

• A high ambient temperature has a negative effect on energy consumption. Direct sunlight and other heat sources near the appliance can also have a negative effect.

• Keep ventilation holes free. Covered and dirty holes cause high energy consumption. Ensure sufficient space around the appliance for proper ventilation.

• Do not open the doors of the appliance more often than necessary and leave them open as briefly as possible.

• The distance between the shelves and the rear wall ensures free air circulation. Do not place food products against the rear wall.

• Set the thermostat to a lower setting if circumstances allow.

• Allow prepared food to cool down to room temperature before placing it in the appliance.

• A door rubber that does not seal properly may increase energy consumption. Have it replaced in time by a competent person.

Before using the appliance for the first time, proceed as follows:

1. Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging material and any promotional stickers. Keep the packaging out of reach of children.

2. After unpacking, check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport.

3. Place the appliance on a sturdy, flat surface and ensure there is enough space all around for sufficient ventilation (a minimum of 10 cm is required between the appliance and surrounding walls).

4. Use the adjustable feet to level the appliance. Turn them clockwise to lower the appliance and counter-clockwise to raise it.

5. Do not place the appliance near heat sources such as central heating or a stove.

6. After placing the appliance, leave it for at least 4 hours before inserting the plug into the socket.

7. Clean the interior of the appliance with warm soapy water (e.g., washing-up liquid, all-purpose cleaner, or soda). Wipe the inside with clean water and dry everything properly. Leave the appliance to dry for 1 to 2 hours.

The control unit is located on the inside of the appliance. To operate your TOMADO TRT5501W:

1. Check that the thermostat is off [0].

2. Check that the voltage corresponds with the voltage stated on the information plate and insert the plug into the socket.

Adjusting the temperature:

Use the thermostat knob to switch on the appliance and change the temperature. The possible positions are:

• 0: no cooling, no power

• 1: least cooling

• 2-6: optimum temperature

• 7: most cooling

We recommend setting the appliance to position 3-4. The appliance will cool continuously until the set temperature has been reached. Allow the appliance to reach the set temperature before filling it with food, which usually takes 2 to 3 hours.

To switch off the appliance, set the thermostat to the [0] position and remove the plug from the socket.

Attention: The ambient temperature, frequency of opening the doors, and the position of the appliance have an effect on the internal temperature. Take this into account when setting the thermostat.

Adjustable glass shelves:

The walls of the appliance are fitted with multiple guides, allowing the glass shelves to be placed inside the appliance as desired.

Adjustable door compartments:

To place products of various sizes, the door compartments can be placed at different heights. To adjust this, gradually pull the door compartment in the direction of the arrows until it releases and place it in the desired position.

• Do not place hot food in the appliance.

• Never place hazardous, highly flammable or explosive substances such as alcohol, acetone or petrol in the appliance, because there will be a hazard of explosion.

• Carefully package meat and fish to prevent unpleasant smells.

• Allow cooked food that you want to store in the appliance to cool down to room temperature before placing it in the appliance.

• Leave sufficient space between the different foods to allow the air to circulate properly.

• Do not leave the door open for longer than necessary.

• Do not freeze too much at once. The quicker the freezing process, the longer the quality of the food is maintained.

• Place deep-freeze products in the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase and ensure they do not defrost during transport.

• Do not place glass bottles or cans in the freezer as they can break when the contents freeze. Carbonated drinks could even explode.

• Frost or ice will increase power consumption. Therefore, these should be removed regularly once they are 3 to 5 mm thick.

Regularly clean the appliance to guarantee proper function. The cooler section defrosts automatically. Before cleaning, switch it off by setting the thermostat to the [0] position and removing the plug from the wall socket.

1. Remove all food from the appliance.

2. Clean the interior of the appliance. Use warm soapy water with a neutral cleaning agent to prevent smells. Wipe the inside of the appliance after cleaning with clean water and properly wipe everything dry. Leave the appliance to dry for 1 to 2 hours.

3. The shelves, drawers and door compartments can be removed from the appliance easily and washed by hand. These components may not be cleaned in the dishwasher.

4. For areas that are difficult to clean, such as small openings or corners, it is recommended to wipe them clean regularly with a soft cloth or brush. If necessary, a tool can be used, such as thin sticks (cocktail sticks, for example), to make sure no contamination can occur.

5. Clean the outside of the appliance and the door rubbers with a soft damp cloth.

6. Clean the rear of the appliance at least once per year with a vacuum cleaner so that the condenser and ventilation holes remain clean.

Important: Do not use hard brushes, steel wool, abrasives (such as toothpaste), organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone, oil, etc.), boiling water, acid or alkaline product to clean the appliance, as this could damage the surface and interior. Boiling water and benzene could deform or damage plastic components.

The TOMADO TRT5501W has been provided with a LED lamp that lasts for a longer period of time. When the LED lamp in the appliance is broken, you are not able to replace it yourself. The light source must be replaced by a recognised installer.

During normal use of the TOMADO TRT5501W, different types of noises can occur that do not have any effect on the correct operation of the appliance. Noises that can be heard during normal use are caused by the operation of the thermostat, compressor (activation), and cooling system (shrinkage and expansion of the material under the influence of temperature differences and flow of cooling liquid).
