The THOMANN SP 5600 is a portable grand keyboard that includes the following features:

To turn the THOMANN SP 5600 on or off, press the power button located on the left side of the operating panel. When turned on, the display will show “Loading!” and the keyboard is immediately operational.

To adjust the volume of the THOMANN SP 5600, use the rotary [VOLUME] control. Turn the control clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to reduce it. It is recommended to turn the volume to minimum before connecting the power supply or other devices.

The THOMANN SP 5600 shuts off automatically after 30 minutes if not in use. To adjust or deactivate this, follow these steps:

Step 1. Press [SHIFT] and [FUNCTION] twice.

Step 2. Use the [YES] and [NO] buttons to select the desired time window (‘030’ for 30 minutes, ‘060’ for 60 minutes, or ‘OFF’ to deactivate).

Step 3. Press [YES] and [NO] simultaneously to activate the default ‘030’ presetting.

You can adjust the touch response of the THOMANN SP 5600 keyboard at four levels:

Step 1. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [TOUCH] to open the touch sensitivity menu.

Step 2. Adjust the sensitivity level using [YES] and [NO] or the jog dial. The options are ‘OFF’ (off), ‘001’ (Soft), ‘002’ (Normal), and ‘003’ (Hard).

Step 3. Press [YES] and [NO] simultaneously to restore the default setting of ‘002’.

To open the Function menu on the THOMANN SP 5600, hold down [SHIFT] and press [FUNCTION]. Use the [FUNCTION] arrow buttons to navigate the submenus and the jog dial or [YES] and [NO] buttons to change parameters. The following options are available:

The Lesson mode on the THOMANN SP 5600 offers three training stages to help you practice songs. First, press [SONG] to enter song mode, then press [LESSON].

Lesson 1 (Playing in time): The display shows ‘LESSON 1’. Only timing is rated. Use [R] or [L] to select the hand to practice. If you play in time, you will hear the music continue.

Lesson 2 (Hitting the right notes): Press [LESSON] again. Only hitting the correct notes is rated. The song only continues when the right note is played.

Lesson 3 (Hitting the right notes at the right time): Press [LESSON] a third time. Both timing and note accuracy are rated. The song continues only when both are correct.

You can record up to five tracks on the THOMANN SP 5600 and store them in the internal memory:

Step 1. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [RECORD] to enable recording mode.

Step 2. Use [YES] and [NO] or the jog dial to select a memory location (RecSong1 to RecSong5).

Step 3. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [RECORD] again to record-enable the keyboard. The “REC” icon will appear.

Step 4. Recording starts as soon as you play a note or press [START/STOP].

Step 5. To stop recording, hold down [SHIFT] and press [RECORD]. The display will show “Wait…” while saving.

The THOMANN SP 5600 provides several options for connecting external audio equipment:

Headphones: Two headphone sockets are located beneath the keyboard on the left. Connecting headphones to outlet 2 mutes the built-in speakers.

AUX OUT: Use this socket to connect the keyboard to an amplifier, stereo system, or mixer using a 1/4 inch phone jack. Always turn the volume to minimum before connecting.

AUX IN: Use this socket to connect a CD or MP3 player. This allows you to play audio through the keyboard’s internal speakers while you play along.

Microphone: Connect a dynamic microphone using the [MIC] 1/4 inch jack on the rear panel.

To restore the THOMANN SP 5600 to its factory default settings, follow these steps:

Step 1. Turn off the keyboard.

Step 2. While turning the keyboard back on, keep the [YES] and [NO] buttons pressed.

Step 3. All user songs and settings will be reset or deleted without a further prompt, and the display will show “Loading!”.

If you experience no sound while playing the THOMANN SP 5600, check the following remedies:

Split mode allows you to divide the THOMANN SP 5600 keyboard into two areas with different voices:

Step 1. Specify the split point in the function menu if needed (default is F#3).

Step 2. Select the right-hand voice as normal.

Step 3. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [LOWER] to switch to split mode.

Step 4. Use the jog dial or [YES] and [NO] buttons to assign a voice for the area to the left of the split point (the display will show “Voice L”).

Step 5. To exit, press [LOWER] again.

In Dual mode, you can play two voices simultaneously on the THOMANN SP 5600:

Step 1. Select the first voice normally.

Step 2. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [DUAL] to activate dual mode. The display will show the second right-hand voice (e.g., “VOICE R2”).

Step 3. Use the jog dial or [YES] and [NO] buttons to select the second voice.

Step 4. To exit, hold down [SHIFT] and press [DUAL] again.

The Chord Dictionary on the THOMANN SP 5600 acts as a built-in guide for finding chord tones:

Step 1. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [DICT.] to enter “DICT.1” (chord learning mode). Use keys from C4 to assign chord type and keys from C6 to assign the root note. The display will show the notes you should play.

Step 2. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [DICT.] again for “DICT.2” (chord testing mode). The display shows a random chord name. If you play the correct notes within three seconds, a new chord is generated.
