Opening and Closing the Scratchpad:

• From the Home screen, press the scratchpad key to open it.

Calculating with Scratchpad:

1. On the Scratchpad Calculate page, enter a math expression on the entry line.

Graphing with the Scratchpad:

1. Press the scratchpad key to open the Graph page.

Viewing and Copying History:

Each evaluated expression and result becomes part of the Scratchpad history.

• Press the up or down arrow keys to scroll through the history.

• To copy a history item to the entry line, scroll to select it and press ‘enter’.

• To copy part of an expression or result, select it using ‘shift’ in combination with the arrow keys, then press ‘enter’.

Clearing the History:

• Press ‘menu’, then select 1: Actions > 5: Clear History.

• All expressions and results are removed from the history. Variables and functions retain their values.

Editing Scratchpad Expressions:

You cannot edit an expression directly in the history. You must first copy it to the entry line.

1. Copy the expression from the history to the entry line by selecting it and pressing ‘enter’.

2. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor in the expression.

3. Type new elements or use ‘del’ to delete parts of the expression.

4. Press ‘enter’ to evaluate the edited expression.

You can use the tools on the Analyze Graph menu to find a point of interest (zero, minimum, maximum, intersection, etc.) in a specified range of any graphed function on your TEXAS INSTRUMENTS TI-NSPIRE CX II CAS.

1. From the Graph page in the Scratchpad, press ‘menu’ and select 6: Analyze Graph.

2. Select the point of interest you want to find. For example, to find a zero, select 1: Zero.

Saving a Document:

1. Press ‘doc’, then select 1: File > 4: Save. You can also press ‘ctrl’ S.

2. The Save As dialog box opens. If saving for the first time, you will be asked which folder to save it to (default is My Documents).

3. Type a name for the document.

4. Click Save.

Opening an Existing Document:

1. From the Home screen, select 2: Browse.

2. The file manager opens. Navigate to the file you want to open.

3. Use the down arrow to highlight the document name, and then press ‘enter’ to open it.

4. If the file is in a folder, highlight the folder and press ‘enter’ to open the folder first.

Choosing a Page Layout:

1. Press ‘doc’ then select 5: Page Layout > 2: Select Layout.

2. Press the number that corresponds to the layout you want. For example, press 2 for a two-pane vertical layout.

1. Select the problem in the Page Sorter.

Renaming a Problem:

1. Select the problem name in the Page Sorter.

2. Press ‘ctrl’ ‘menu’.

3. Select 7: Rename and type the new name.

4. Press ‘ctrl’ S to save the change.

1. Highlight the item you want to delete.

2. Press the ‘del’ key.

3. A dialog box opens to confirm. Select Yes to delete.

Recovering Deleted Documents:

• Press ‘ctrl’ Z (Undo) to cancel the last operation. This can restore a deleted document.

Deleting an Image:

1. Select the image.

2. Press ‘ctrl’ ‘menu’, and then select Delete. In Notes or Question applications, you can also just press the ‘del’ key.

2. Press 5: Settings > 4: Status.
