What are the important safeguards for this ice maker?

When using this electrical appliance, safety precautions must always be observed, including the following:

READ ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE. SAVE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

Remove all packing material and carefully check your ice maker to ensure it is in good condition and that there is no damage to the ice maker, power cord or plug.

Let your ice maker sit upright for 24 hours before plugging in and using for the first time.

Spring Water and pure water are recommended in this unit.

The cord should be plugged into a 120AC electric outlet only.

Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working properly, has been dropped or damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water, do not use it and return it to the manufacturer for service, repair, or replacement.

Do not upend this product or incline it over 45 degree angle.

Do not use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer.

This ice maker must be positioned so that the plug is accessible. Connect to properly polarized outlets only. No other appliance should be plugged into the same outlet. Be sure the plug is fully inserted into the receptacle.

Do not lay the power cord over carpeting or other heat insulators. Do not cover the cord. Keep cord away from traffic areas, and do not submerge in water.

Do not switch on the power button frequently to avoid damage to the compressor. (Ensure 5 minute intervals at least).

Do not use by flames, hotplates or stoves.

Metal sheet or other metal objects are not allowed to be inserted in the unit to avoid fire and short circuit.

Do not allow cord to hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

It is not recommended to use this ice maker with an extension cord as it may overheat and become a fire Hazard. If you must use an extension cord, use No.14AWG minimum size and rated no less than 1875 watts. Please ensure that the appliance is plugged directly into the electrical outlet. The appliance is only to be used with the power supply unit provided with the appliance.

Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged please call our customer service.

This unit should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a three-prong plug which works with standard three prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electric shock.

Plug your appliance into an exclusive, properly installed, grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician.

This appliance requires a standard 120volt, 60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong ground.

Never yank the cord to disconnect the unit from the outlet. Instead, grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

Do not handle plug with wet hands, while standing on a wet surface or while standing in water.

To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse plug, cord or housing in water or any other liquid.

Unplug the appliance after using or before cleaning.

Close adult supervision must be provided when this appliance is used by or near children. Do not allow unit to be used as a toy.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

This unit is for household use only. The unit should not be used for other than the intended use. Place the ice maker away from direct sunlight and make sure that there is at least 4 inches of space between the back of your unit and wall. Keep a minimum distance of 4 inches on each side of your unit free.

This symbol shows that this appliance uses a flammable refrigerant. If the refrigerant is leaked and exposed to an external ignition source, there is a risk of fire.

Do not use other liquid to make the ice cube other than water.

Do not clean your ice maker with flammable fluids. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion. Never clean with scouring powders or hard implements.

If the ice maker is brought in from outside when temperatures are below 50F, give it a few hours to warm up to room temperature before plugging it in.

The ice maker should be installed in accordance with the safety standard for Refrigeration Systems, ASHRAE15. The ice maker shall not be installed in corridors or hallways of public buildings.

If the unit has a problem and needs maintenance, the service must be done by an authorized factory personnel.

To avoid a hazard due to instability of the appliance, it must be placed at an even or flat surface.

How do I unpack the ice maker?

  1. Remove the exterior and interior packaging. Remove the blue tape from around and inside the unit.
  2. Remove the ice basket and ice scoop. If any parts are missing, please contact our customer service. Clean the scoop, tank & ice basket per cleaning instructions.
  3. Put the ice maker on a level & flat countertop without direct sunlight and other sources of heat (i.e.: stove, furnace, radiator). There must be at least 4 inches of space between the back & sides with the wall. Position so that the plug is accessible.
  4. Allow 24 hours for the refrigerant fluid to settle before plugging the ice maker in to a suitable outlet. The refrigerant needs to settle after shipping or it may not work.

How do I use the ice maker?

  1. Open the cover to remove the ice basket. Pour water into the inner tank to the max water level. Distilled water, purified water, and mineral water can all be used. Place the ice basket back in the unit. Note: Do not fill with hot water as it could damage the ice maker. It is best to fill with below room temperature water. Plug in the unit.
  2. Press the POWER button on the control panel to turn the unit on. It will be in standby mode.
  3. Press Ice Making mode to begin the ice making cycle. The first 3 cycles the ice may be irregular. NOTE: Ice Making mode and Cleaning mode can not be used at the same time.
  4. The ice making cycle lasts approx. 10 minutes, depending on the water temperature and the room temperature. The recommended room temperature is 50 to 90 degrees.
  5. Note: During the operation process, if the water level in the water reservoir becomes too low, the machine will automatically stop operating and the Water indicator will display on the LED. If this happens, press the ON/OFF button, fill water up to the max water level mark and press ON/OFF button again to turn on the unit. Allow the refrigerant liquid inside the compressor to settle at least 3 minutes before restarting.
  6. The ice maker will stop when the ice basket is full and the FULL indicator will turn on. Warning: Keep away from direct sunlight. Sunlight could influence the infrared ray which detects when the basket is full.
  7. Remove the full ice basket and empty the ice into a container or bag. Place the ice basket back in the unit.
  8. Change water in the water reservoir every 24 hours to ensure a reasonable hygiene level.
  9. Press POWER at any time to turn the unit off or on. If you turn the unit off during the ice making cycle, wait 5 minutes so the ice can drop down into the basket before you turn it on again.

Warning: Do not turn the ice maker upside down. Doing so could cause the compressor or refrigerating system to operate incorrectly. When the ice maker is moved or transported, please allow time for the fluids in the compressor to settle. Before using the ice maker for the first time, please wait 24 hours after the unit has been leveled and positioned in its proper place.


How do I clean and maintain the ice maker?

Before using your ice maker, it is strongly recommended to clean it thoroughly and frequently.

  1. Wash the ice basket and scoop in warm soapy water. Rinse. Dry.
  2. Unplug the unit and remove any ice cubes if necessary.
  3. DRAIN WATER: Remove any water by placing the unit over a sink. Unscrew the cap and then pull out the silicone plug located in the back on the bottom. After all water is released, replace the silicone plug and replace the cap.
  4. Clean the interior regularly with vinegar and water or a diluted detergent, warm water and a soft cloth. Rinse cloth and wipe before starting. Do not use any chemicals or diluted agents.
  5. The outside of the ice maker should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent and warm water.
  6. When not in use, drain the water completely & dry the interior.

How do I use the automatic self-cleaning program?

  1. Plug in the unit. Fill the tank with water to the max water level.
  2. Press the POWER button on the control panel.
  3. Press the Cleaning button. Each cleaning has 10 cycles of pumping and pouring water. Each cycle is about 60 seconds. During this process, the indicators will flash back and forth during cleaning. Do not disconnect the power supply when cleaning. If you want to stop this process, press the POWER button again. When the cleaning process is complete, it will go into standby mode.
  4. After cleaning is complete, place the Ice Maker so the drain cap is over the sink. Unscrew the cap off and remove the silicone plug to drain the water from the inner tank to the sink. Replace the silicone plug and cap.

What do the buttons and indicators on the control panel mean?

ON/OFF Button: Turns the unit on or off.

LAMPLIGHT Button: Press for light on or off.

ICE-MAKING Button: Press to start making ice.

CLEANING Button: Press for the automatic cleaning function.

UV LAMP Button: Press to turn the UV Lamp on or off.

Ice FULL alarm (F icon): Indicates the ice basket is full.

Add Water Alarm (Water drop icon): Indicates the unit needs more water.


What should I do if the “WATER” indicator is on?

This indicates a low water level or lack of water.

Stop the ice maker, fill with water until it reaches the MAX line, then press the ON/OFF button again to restart.


What should I do if the “FULL” indicator is on?

This indicates the ice basket is full. Simply remove the ice from the ice basket.


Why is the ice sticking together?

This can happen if ice from previous cycles was left in the water tray, or if the unit was stopped and restarted. To resolve this:

Stop the ice maker and restart it when the ice blocks melt. Replace the water. The temperature of the water should be between 40-90 degrees F.


The ice maker is running a cycle but no ice is formed. What’s wrong?

This could be due to a damaged compressor or fan. Please contact customer service.


Why does the compressor have a buzzing noise?

The voltage is likely lower than recommended. Stop the ice maker by pressing the power button. Do not restart until the voltage is normal.


The indicator lights on the display are not working. What should I do?

This could be caused by a blown fuse or no power. Check for a blown fuse and replace/fix it. Turn the power back on.


Why are all the indicator lights twinkling simultaneously?

This can be caused by a few issues:

  1. The water tray is blocked by an ice cube. Unplug the power to take out the ice that is blocking the tray. Plug back in and press the Power button; the unit will restart in 3 minutes.
  2. The motor is stuck or damaged. Contact customer service.
  3. The microswitch is damaged. Contact customer service.

The ice basket is full, but the “FULL” icon is not on. What should I do?

The Ice Full sensor may be damaged or there could be sunlight interference. Try making ice indoors, away from direct sunlight. If the problem persists, contact customer service.


What should I do if the ice shovel is jammed?

If a power failure occurs due to unplugging the power cord, or the power button has been pushed off during an ice making cycle, small ice chips may form and lodge in the automatic shovel causing it to jam. If this occurs, the ice chips may be removed by unplugging the power cord and gently pushing the shovel to the rear of the cabinet and removing the ice chips, then restarting.

Also, check if the water reservoir is flat when the ice shovel cannot remove the ice to the ice basket. If it is not flat, please push the ice shovel gently by finger, then press the POWER button to restart.
