What basic safety precautions should be followed when using this appliance?
Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified person to avoid hazards.
Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged. Take it to an authorised service agent for examination/repair.
Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid.
Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug, not pulling the cord.
Always unplug the unit when not in use, before cleaning, or when adding/removing parts.
Use only manufacturer-recommended or supplied accessories.
Keep the cord away from table edges, hot surfaces, hot gas/electric burners, or heated ovens.
Do not use the appliance on a gas or electric cooking top or near an open flame.
An extension cord is not recommended. If used, ensure it suits the appliance’s power consumption and is placed safely.
This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use.
Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
Do not carry the appliance by the power cord.
Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
Always operate on a smooth, even, stable surface. Do not place on a hot surface.
Ensure the unit is switched off after use.
In case of technical problems, switch off and do not attempt self-repair. Return to an authorised service facility. Use original spare parts.
Do not switch on via an external timer or separate remote control system.
Can children use this appliance?
What should I do before using the Teasmade for the first time?
1. Fill the ceramic jug with water to 1” (25mm) below the top.
2. Open the lid and remove the tank cap by turning it anti-clockwise.
3. Pour the water from the jug into the tank and replace the tank cap by turning it clockwise.
4. Place the ceramic jug back on its stand, ensuring it is resting firmly against the safety switch.
5. Press the TEA NOW button and wait.
6. In a few minutes, the water will boil and be ejected into the pot with a ‘woosh’ sound.
7. Once this process is complete, discard the water from the pot.
Your TEASMADE is now clean and ready to use.
Important: Do not remove the teapot during the filling cycle. Ensure the tank cap is properly secured after filling and do not open it during the boiling cycle. Wait a few minutes after the cycle before removing the filler cap as it will be hot. DO NOT OVERFILL.
How do I set the clock?
Insert the plug into the mains socket. The clock hands will default to the 12:00 position.
Press the CLOCK SET button repeatedly to advance the clock hands to the correct time. Each press advances the clock by 1 minute.
To fast forward the clock, press and HOLD the CLOCK SET button.
Note: The TEASMADE uses a 12-hour clock with no am or pm setting.
How do I set the alarm?
The dot on the clock face indicates the alarm time.
Press the ALARM SET button repeatedly to advance the alarm time (indicated by the dot) to the desired time. Each press advances the time by 1 minute.
To fast forward the alarm time, press and HOLD the ALARM SET button.
Once you release the ALARM SET button, the clock will revert to showing the current time, and the alarm dot will remain displayed at the set alarm time.
Note: The TEASMADE uses a 12-hour clock with no am or pm setting.
After setting the time, press the ALARM button so that it lights up. The alarm is now set.
When the alarm time is reached, the unit will beep. Press the ALARM button to stop the beeps.
Ensure the ALARM button is lit if you want the alarm to activate.
How do I make tea immediately using the TEA NOW button?
1. Fill the tank with water as described in the initial setup (use the ceramic jug, pour water into the tank, secure the cap).
2. Put 2 tea bags (or 2 teaspoons of instant coffee) into the ceramic pot.
3. Place the pot back onto the TEASMADE stand, ensuring it is resting firmly against the safety switch.
4. Press the TEA NOW button.
5. The tea making process will begin and takes approximately 5 minutes.
6. The cycle finishes with the traditional TEASMADE ‘woosh’ as the hot water is ejected into the pot.
To interrupt the tea making cycle, press the TEA NOW button again. The cycle will stop.
If you require more tea, wait a few minutes between cycles to allow the tank to cool.
How do I use the reading light?
How should I clean the Teasmade?
Ensure the product is unplugged and completely cooled before cleaning.
Clean the ceramic pot daily with warm soapy water, then rinse with clean water.
Do not leave water in the tank for long periods. Wait until the product has cooled before emptying the tank.
Clean the outside of the unit with a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution.
DO NOT USE CHEMICAL OR ABRASIVE CLEANERS.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE UNIT IN WATER.
How do I descale the Teasmade?
Excessive limescale build-up can harm the Teasmade. It’s important to descale regularly for best performance. Refer to the limescale guide on the inner lid of the retail box.
1. Use a good descaling agent (available from most supermarkets).
2. Fill the tank using the pot and include the descaling agent according to its instructions.
3. On this occasion, LEAVE THE FILLER CAP OFF the tank.
4. Place the empty pot on its stand, ensuring it is in contact with the safety switch.
5. Press the TEA NOW button. The water in the tank will boil.
6. Note: With the filler cap off, there will be an increased amount of steam, so be careful.
7. Once the water in the tank is boiling, press the TEA NOW button again to switch it off.
8. Carefully replace the filler cap onto the tank.
9. Press the TEA NOW button once again. The boiling water with the descaler will be ejected into the pot, descaling the internal pipes and tubes.
10. Once descaling is complete, allow the unit to cool.
11. Rinse the tank and pot thoroughly with clean water.

I have a swan teasmade model No STM200N it works well until the light flashes then it fuses all my lights help please
Teasmade reading light cannot switch off – suggestions please
On page 5 of this manual it says “To use the reading light simply press the reading light button”. I’m guessing you tried that.
1. You can try unplugging it for a minute.
2. The button may not be pressing the electronics behind it for some reason, try playing with it or opening the device to look for any issues or manually pressing the electronic button.
3. Remove the bulb.
