To ensure safe usage of your ALPINE ILX-207, please observe the following points:

• DO NOT WATCH VIDEO WHILE DRIVING. Watching video can distract you from looking ahead and may cause an accident.

• DO NOT OPERATE ANY FUNCTION THAT TAKES YOUR ATTENTION AWAY FROM SAFELY DRIVING. Any function requiring prolonged attention should only be performed after coming to a complete stop in a safe location.

• KEEP THE VOLUME AT A LEVEL WHERE YOU CAN STILL HEAR OUTSIDE NOISES WHILE DRIVING. Excessive volume levels can obscure emergency vehicle sirens or road warning signals, potentially leading to an accident.

• MINIMIZE DISPLAY VIEWING WHILE DRIVING. Viewing the display can be a distraction and may cause an accident.

• DO NOT DISASSEMBLE OR ALTER. Doing so may result in an accident, fire, or electric shock.

• USE ONLY IN CARS WITH A 12 VOLT NEGATIVE GROUND. Failure to do so may result in fire or other issues.

• DO NOT INSTALL IN LOCATIONS WHICH MIGHT HINDER VEHICLE OPERATION, such as near the steering wheel or gearshift, as this may obstruct vision or hamper movement, leading to a serious accident.

Product Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth for periodic cleaning of the product. For more severe stains, dampen the cloth with water only. Using other substances may dissolve the paint or damage the plastic.

Temperature

Ensure the temperature inside the vehicle is between +45°C (+113°F) and 0°C (+32°F) before turning your unit on.

Maintenance

If you encounter problems, do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Return it to your authorized Alpine dealer or the nearest Alpine Service Station for servicing.

When using a USB flash drive with your ALPINE ILX-207, please follow these guidelines:

• Only an iPod/iPhone or USB flash drive can be connected. Correct performance with other USB products is not guaranteed.

• If using the USB connector, use only the supplied connector cable. A USB hub is not supported.

• Playable audio file formats are MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC.

• Avoid using or storing the USB flash drive in locations exposed to direct sunlight, high temperatures, high humidity, or corrosive substances.

• Use only certified USB flash drives. Note that even certified drives may not function correctly depending on their type or state.

• The unit can play back files with “mp3,” “wma,” or “m4a” extensions. Do not add these extensions to non-audio files, as it may cause noise that can damage speakers.

• It is recommended to back up important data on a personal computer.

• Do not remove the USB device while playback is in progress. To prevent damage, change the SOURCE to something other than USB before removing the device.

You can operate your ALPINE ILX-207 system using the touch panel on the screen.

• Touch Operation: Touch a button or list item on the screen lightly with the pad of your finger. Be gentle to avoid scratching the display. Onscreen buttons that cannot be operated will appear dimmed.

• Swipe Operation: Move your finger lightly with a swipe across the screen to change a screen or a page vertically or horizontally.

• Drag & Drop Operation: Touch and hold the desired item, then drag it to its new location by moving your finger. Release your finger to place the item.

Note: It is not possible to narrow the screen with two fingers (pinch in) or spread the screen (pinch out).

Please note that some functions cannot be performed while the vehicle is in motion. Always stop in a safe location and apply the parking brake before these operations.

To Turn Power On:

1. Turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON position. The system will turn on and display the last screen that was active before the ignition was turned off.

To Turn Power Off:

1. Press and hold the MENU/ (Power Off) button for at least 5 seconds.

The unit can be turned back on by pressing any button.

When using the unit for the first time or after changing the car battery, you should press the RESET switch.

1. Turn off the unit’s power.

2. Press the RESET switch with a ballpoint pen or a similar pointed object.

When the system is used for the first time after a reset, the language selection menu is displayed. Swipe the language list vertically, touch your choice from the list of 23 languages. After selecting the language, the time setting screen is displayed. Adjust the hour and minute, then touch [OK] to confirm.

Adjusting the Volume:

Press the ∧ or ∨ buttons to adjust the volume. The volume level ranges from 0 to 35. Pressing and holding the buttons will cause the volume to decrease or increase continuously.

Lowering Volume Quickly (Mute):

1. Press ∧ or ∨ to display the Volume adjustment screen.

2. Touch the speaker icon to activate the MUTE mode. The audio level will be set to 0, and the speaker icon will change to indicate it’s muted.

3. To unmute, press the ∧ or ∨ button again to increase the volume.

You can switch audio sources using two methods on your ALPINE ILX-207:

Using the (AUDIO) button:

During audio/visual playback, press the (AUDIO) button repeatedly to switch to the desired source. The available sources will cycle in the following order: Radio → USB/iPod → Factory Media → HDMI → Pandora → Bluetooth Pandora → SiriusXM → Factory SiriusXM → AUX → Bluetooth Audio → Apple CarPlay Music/Google Play Music → Radio.

Note: Some sources are only available if the corresponding device is connected or service is active.

Using the Menu screen:

1. Press the MENU button to display the menu screen.

2. In the Audio source selecting area, touch the icon of your desired source.

The Favorite function allows you to easily recall frequently used items. You can register up to 54 functions.

Using the Favorite Function:

1. Press the (Favorite) button to display the Favorite screen.

2. Touch your desired Favorite registered item to activate it.

Editing the Favorite Screen:

1. From the Favorite screen, touch [Edit]. The screen will change to Edit mode.

2. To register a new item, touch [Add]. Choose the category and then the specific item to be added.

3. To change an item’s name, touch the text area of the registered item and input the new name using the keypad.

4. To change the layout, drag and drop an item to the desired location.

5. To delete items, touch the checkbox at the left of the item you want to delete to place a check mark, then touch [Delete]. To delete all items, touch [Delete All].

6. After editing is complete, touch [Back] and then [OK] to confirm the changes.

To pair a Bluetooth device, first ensure the “Bluetooth” setting in the Wireless Setup menu is set to “On”.

1. In the Wireless (Bluetooth) Setup menu, select Set Bluetooth Device.

2. Touch [Search] of “No Device.” The ALPINE ILX-207 will search for available Bluetooth devices and display them in a list.

3. From the list, touch the name of the device you want to connect.

4. Select how you want to use the device by touching [Audio] (for music), [Hands-free] (for calls), or [Both].

5. When the device registration is complete, a message will appear, and the device will return to normal mode.

Note: The registration process may differ depending on your device. If a Passcode appears, enter it on your device. If a 6-character Passkey appears, confirm that the same passkey is displayed on both your device and the unit, then touch “Yes.”

You can adjust the sound settings through the “Sound Setup” menu in General Setup.

• Setting Balance/Fader: Select this option to display the Fad./Bal. screen. Touch the desired point within the image area or use the arrow keys to adjust the sound balance between the left and right speakers (L15 to R15) and the front and rear speakers (F15 to R15). Touch [Center] to reset to the initial settings (Balance: 0, Fader: 0).

• Rear Speaker Setting: You can set the rear speaker output to “Off” if desired.

• Turning Subwoofer ON/OFF: If an optional subwoofer is connected, set this to “On” to enable it.

• Adjusting the Subwoofer Level: When the subwoofer is “On”, you can adjust its level from 0 to 15.

• Setting the Subwoofer Phase: You can toggle the subwoofer output phase between Normal (0°) and Reverse (180°).

The ALPINE ILX-207 offers two ways to adjust the equalizer: presets and a parametric equalizer.

Equalizer Presets:

There are 10 typical equalizer settings preset at the factory for various music types. In the Sound Setup menu, select EQ Presets and choose from options like FLAT, POP, ROCK, NEWS, JAZZ, etc. Only one preset can be active at a time.

Adjusting the Parametric Equalizer Curve (Dual HD EQ):

This feature allows you to independently adjust the center frequency, Q Factor (bandwidth), and level for the front and rear speakers across 9 bands.

1. In the Sound Setup menu, select Dual HD EQ.

2. Select the front or rear speakers to adjust. You can also sync them.

3. Touch [Band] to select the band you want to adjust (Band1 to Band9).

4. Adjust the Frequency, Level (-14 to +14), and Q Factor (bandwidth: Wide/Medium/Narrow) for the selected band.

5. Repeat for other bands as needed.

6. To save your custom settings, touch and hold [Preset 1], [Preset 2], or [Preset 3] for at least 2 seconds.

For Apple CarPlay:

1. Before connecting, go to Source Setup and turn Apple CarPlay to “On”.

2. Plug your iPhone (iPhone 5 or later) into the unit’s USB port using a Lightning to USB Cable.

3. Press the MENU button on the unit.

4. Touch [Apple CarPlay] on the screen to activate the Apple CarPlay mode.

For Android Auto:

1. Download the Android Auto App from the Google Play store onto your smartphone.

2. Plug your smartphone into the unit’s USB connector.

3. Follow the prompt on the screen to pair your smartphone with the unit via Bluetooth.

4. Once connected, press the MENU button on the unit.

5. Touch [Android Auto] on the screen to activate the Android Auto mode.

Listening to the Radio:

1. Press the (AUDIO) button to select radio mode.

2. Touch the band display (e.g., [FM1]) to select your desired band (FM1/FM2/AM).

3. Use the seek buttons ([◀◀] or [▶▶]) to tune to a station.

Presetting Stations Manually:

1. Tune to a desired radio station.

2. Touch and hold the Preset number (in the Preset mode screen) you want to store for at least 2 seconds. The station is now stored.

3. Repeat for up to 11 other stations on the same band. A total of 36 stations can be stored (12 for each band).

Presetting Stations Automatically:

1. Select the desired band.

2. Touch and hold [Auto Preset]. The tuner will automatically seek and store 12 strong stations in ascending order of frequency.

Tuning to Preset Stations:

1. Switch to the Preset mode screen.

2. Select the desired band (FM1/FM2/AM).

3. Touch the Preset number of the station you wish to hear.

Playback Controls:

• Play/Pause: Press the (AUDIO) button to select USB mode. To pause playback, touch [II]. Touch it again to resume.

• Select Track: Touch [I◀] or [▶I] to select the desired track (file).

• Fast-forward/Fast-reverse (Video only): Touch and hold [◀◀] (Fast-reverse) or [▶▶] (Fast-forward).

• Stopping Playback (Video only): Touch [■] during playback to stop.

Repeat and Random Play (Audio only):

• Repeat Play: Touch [Repeat icon] and select your desired repeat mode: Folder (repeats all files in the current folder), File (repeats the current file), or Off.

• Random Play: Touch [Random icon] and select your desired random mode: All (plays all songs in random sequence), Folder (plays songs in a random folder), File (plays files in the current folder in random sequence), or Off.

Searching for a Song:

You can use the Quick Search mode (touch desired Folder or File name from the main list) or the Full Search mode (browse through the folder/file structure) to find your desired song.

Answering a Call:

When a call comes in, a ringtone will sound and an incoming call notification will appear on the screen. Touch the notification screen to answer the call.

Hanging up a Call:

During a call, touch [End Call] to finish the call.

Making a Call:

1. Press the MENU button and touch [Phone].

2. You can make a call using one of several methods:

• From Favorites: If you have a contact saved as a favorite, press the (Favorite) button and touch the contact’s shortcut icon, then touch [Call].

• From Recent Events: Touch [Recents] to see lists of dialed, received, and missed calls. Touch a contact to call.

• From Contacts (Phone Book): Touch [Contacts], find the desired contact, and touch their name to call.

• Using the Keypad: Touch [Keypad], enter the phone number, and touch [Call].

You can use the voice recognition function of your connected smartphone for hands-free operations.

Using Siri (iPhone):

Ensure Siri is enabled on your iPhone and the phone is connected via Bluetooth to the ALPINE ILX-207.

1. Press the or VOICE button on the unit.

2. The Voice Control mode screen will appear.

3. When prompted, speak your command into the microphone (e.g., “Call John Smith” or “Play music by The Beatles”).

4. To finish the Voice Control mode, touch [X] on the screen or press the or VOICE button again.

Using Voice Dial (General Smartphones):

Ensure your smartphone supports voice dialing and is connected via Bluetooth.

1. Press the or VOICE button.

2. The Voice Dial mode screen is activated.

3. Say the telephone number or contact name you wish to call into the microphone.

4. To finish the Voice Dial mode, touch [X] on the screen or press the or VOICE button again.

The ALPINE ILX-207 supports various audio formats for playback from a USB flash drive. Here are the specifications:

ID3/WMA Tags: The device supports ID3 tag v1.0, v1.1, v2.2, v2.3, v2.4, and WMA tag Ver.1.x to display title, artist, and album names.

Playback Limits: The maximum number of playable files/folders is 10,000 (including the Root Folder).

If your ALPINE ILX-207 is not turning on or showing a display, please check the following:

• Vehicle’s ignition is off. If connected correctly, the unit should operate when the ignition is on.

• Improper power lead connections. Check that all power leads are connected securely.

• Blown fuse. Check the fuse on the battery lead of the unit and replace it with one of the proper value if necessary.

• Internal micro-computer malfunction. Try pressing the RESET switch with a ballpoint pen or other pointed article to resolve the issue.

If you are experiencing issues with audio output, please check these possible causes:

• Incorrect setting of volume/balance/fader controls. Go into the sound settings and readjust the controls to your desired levels.

• Connections are not properly or securely made. Check all speaker and audio connections to ensure they are firmly connected.

If the screen is blank, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Brightness/Contrast control is set at the minimum position. Adjust the Brightness and Contrast controls.

• Temperature in the vehicle is too low. Allow the vehicle’s interior temperature to rise to the normal operating range.

• Parking Brake Lead is not connected or engaged. For certain functions, the Parking Brake Lead must be connected and the parking brake must be engaged.

If you are having trouble receiving radio stations, consider the following:

• No antenna or open connection in the antenna cable. Ensure the antenna is properly connected. Replace the antenna or cable if it is damaged.

• You are in a weak signal area. Make sure the tuner is set to DX (distance) mode, not Local mode.

• The antenna may not be properly grounded or of the proper length. Check the antenna connections and ensure it is properly grounded at its mounting location. Make sure the antenna is fully extended.

This message indicates that an abnormal amount of current is being drawn by the device connected to the USB port.

To resolve this:

1. Turn the vehicle’s ignition key off, and then set it back to ON.

2. Disconnect the current USB device and attempt to connect a different iPod/iPhone or USB Flash drive to see if the problem persists.

This message indicates a communication error with the connected HDMI device. Please try the following steps:

• Turn the vehicle’s ignition key off, and then set it to ON again to reset the system.

• Check the display by disconnecting and then reconnecting the HDMI cable at both the unit and the device.

• Check the display by disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI device itself.
