To charge the SONY WF-C710N YY2986 headset, follow these steps:

1. Set the headset units into the charging case.

2. Connect the charging case to an AC outlet. To do this, connect the charging case to an AC outlet with a commercially available USB AC adaptor.

Please note that when charging, the headset cannot be turned on and the Bluetooth function cannot be used.

For a proper fit for your SONY WF-C710N YY2986 headset, please follow these instructions:

1. Insert the headset unit into your ear.

2. Twist the headset unit to slide the earbud tip deep into your ear canal.

When using the Bluetooth function of the SONY WF-C710N YY2986, please consider the following:

• Bluetooth wireless technology operates within a range of about 10 meters. The maximum communication range may vary depending on the presence of obstacles (people, metal objects, walls, etc.) or the electromagnetic environment.

• Microwaves emitting from a Bluetooth device may affect the operation of electronic medical devices. Turn off the headset and other Bluetooth devices in locations such as hospitals or near pacemakers, as it may cause an accident.

• The headset supports security functions compliant with the Bluetooth standard to provide a secure connection, but security may not be sufficient depending on the setting. Be careful when communicating using Bluetooth wireless technology.

• A device featuring the Bluetooth function is required to conform to the Bluetooth standard specified by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and be authenticated. Even if the connected device conforms to the standard, some devices may not connect or work correctly, depending on the features or specifications of the device.

• The 2.4 GHz band used by this product is the same frequency band as wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), cordless telephones, and microwave ovens. To avoid radio wave interference, please use this product away from such devices.

Static electricity accumulated in the body may cause mild tingling in your ears. To reduce this effect, it is recommended to wear clothes made from natural materials, which suppress the generation of static electricity.

The SONY WF-C710N YY2986 headset is rated IPX4, which means it is protected against splashing water from any direction. However, please observe the following precautions:

• The charging case is not water resistant. Ensure it does not come into contact with water.

• Do not use the headset in a bathroom or other humid place.

• Do not drop the headset into water or allow it to get wet.

• If the headset gets wet, wipe it off with a soft dry cloth. If water gets into the sound output holes, turn the headset upside down and shake it several times. If water remains on the microphone hole, it may cause corrosion.

• The water-resistant performance is based on measurements under specific conditions. Malfunctions resulting from water immersion caused by customer misuse are not covered.

For your safety when using the SONY WF-C710N YY2986, please follow these precautions:

• Do not install the product in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.

• Do not expose batteries (the battery pack or installed batteries) to excessive heat, such as sunshine, fire, or the like, for a long time.

3. After about 15 seconds, the indicator (orange) on the charging case flashes for about 5 seconds. Then, the indicator on the charging case turns off and the headset is reset.

4. After the headset is reset, the connection to a known device may be retained on your device (e.g., iPhone or computer). If so, delete the pairing information from the device and then pair them again.

Note: During the reset, the indicator (orange) on the charging case flashes. Depending on the remaining battery charge of the charging case, the headset units may not start resetting. In this case, charge the charging case. After the headset is reset, the pairing information is not deleted.

To restore the SONY WF-C710N YY2986 headset to factory settings, which deletes all pairing information, follow these steps:

1. Set the headset units into the charging case. Leave the charging case lid open.

2. Press and hold the initializing button on the back of the charging case for about 15 seconds or more.

3. After about 15 seconds, the indicator (blue) on the charging case flashes twice repeatedly for about 5 seconds. Then, the indicator on the charging case turns off and the headset is initialized.

4. This operation deletes all the pairing information and restores the headset to the factory settings. After initializing the headset, delete the pairing information for the headset from the connected device and then pair them again.

Note: During initialization, the indicator (blue) on the charging case flashes. Depending on the remaining battery charge of the charging case, the headset units may not start initializing. In this case, charge the charging case.

To charge the SONY WF-C710N YY2986 using USB, you will need a commercially available USB AC adaptor capable of supplying an output current of 0.5 A (500 mA) or more.
