The SENCOR SHF 902BK should be used according to the following safety guidelines:

This appliance may be used by children 8 years of age and older and by persons with physical or mental impairments or by inexperienced persons, if they are properly supervised or have been informed about how to use the product in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers.

Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance performed by the user must not be performed by unsupervised children.

In the event that the power cord is damaged, have it repaired at a professional service centre to prevent causing a dangerous situation. It is forbidden to use the appliance if it has a damaged power cord.

Always only fill to the marked maximum water level mark. Never fill the water past the maximum mark.

When filling, cleaning and removing limescale deposits, proceed according to the instructions in the user’s manual.

Be especially careful when using the appliance since it generates steam.

When filling or cleaning the appliance, disconnect it by pulling the power plug out of the power socket.

Understand that high levels of moisture may facilitate the growth of biological organisms in the environment.

Do not permit the area around the humidifier to become damp or wet. In the event that this happens, set the humidifier to a lower power level. If it is not possible to lower the power, use the humidifier intermittently.

Do not permit absorptive materials such as carpets, curtains, drapes or table cloths to become wet.

Never leave water in the water tank when the appliance is not being used.

Empty out and clean the humidifier before storing it. Clean the humidifier before using it again.

It is necessary to empty out and refill the SENCOR SHF 902BK every three days. Microorganisms present in the water or environment may multiply in the water tank and result in serious health risks if the water is not changed and the tank is not regularly cleaned every 3 days.

Before filling it, clean it out using tap clean water or a cleaning agent if required. Remove any limescale, deposits, or film that forms on the walls of the water tank or on the inner surfaces, and wipe all surfaces dry.

Follow these steps to fill the water tank of the SENCOR SHF 902BK:

1. Check that the power adapter A12 is disconnected.

2. Carefully take the water tank A3 off the base unit A10.

3. Turn the water tank A3 upside down and screw out the cap A4.

4. Pour clean cold water into the water tank A3. Only use clean cold water without any additions. Do not pour water through the steam outlet or use hot water.

5. Screw on the cap A4 and check that it is tightened firmly to prevent leaking. Turn the tank over so the cap points downwards to verify there are no leaks.

6. Put the tank back on the base unit A10.

To operate the SENCOR SHF 902BK, follow these instructions:

1. Position the humidifier on a dry, even, and water-resistant surface approximately 15 cm away from walls and other objects. Do not place it on carpets or towels.

2. Connect the power adapter A12 to the base unit and then to a power socket.

3. Press button A9 to start the humidifier. It will automatically start at low speed with the illumination A8 turned off.

4. Repeatedly press button A9 to select a mode as shown in the table below:

5. If button A9 is pressed five times, the SENCOR SHF 902BK will turn off.

When the water level falls below the set level, the backlight of button A9 will change from blue to red and the SENCOR SHF 902BK will turn off automatically.

To add water, first ensure the humidifier is turned off and the power adapter A12 is disconnected from the power socket. Follow the standard filling instructions to refill the tank. Never remove the water tank while the humidifier is running as this risks irreversible damage and injury.

The SENCOR SHF 902BK is designed to allow the use of aromatic oils. Next to the steam outlet, there is a special pillow A2 specifically for this purpose. Always use only 3 drops of aromatic oil on this pillow. Under no condition should you pour aromatic oil directly into the water tank A3 or the base unit A10, as this risks damaging the inner parts of the humidifier.

Follow these steps to clean the SENCOR SHF 902BK after every use:

1. Turn off the humidifier and disconnect the power adapter A12.

2. Remove the water tank A3 and the nozzle A1.

3. Screw off the cap A4 and pour any remaining water into the sink or drain.

4. Rinse out the water tank using clean water to remove any dirt or deposits.

5. Wipe the tank dry with a wiping cloth.

6. To clean the base unit A10 and the nozzle A1, use a clean soft cloth lightly dampened in warm water, then wipe dry. Do not use cleaning products with an abrasive effect or solvents. No part of this appliance is dishwasher safe.

Depending on water hardness, it is recommended to remove water scale deposits at least once per week. To remove limescale from the SENCOR SHF 902BK:

1. Turn off the device and disconnect the power adapter.

2. Remove the water tank and nozzle and empty any remaining water.

3. Fill the water tank with one cup of white vinegar and allow it to act for 15 minutes.

4. Use a cleaning brush with soft bristles to remove accumulated deposits inside the tank.

5. Pour out the vinegar and rinse the tank thoroughly with clean cold water.

6. Wipe dry with a cloth.

Note: If your water is very hard, the use of distilled water is recommended.

To clean the ultrasound disc A5 of the SENCOR SHF 902BK:

1. Turn off the humidifier and disconnect the power adapter.

2. Remove the water tank from the base unit.

3. Use only the supplied cleaning brush A6 to clean the ultrasound disc A5.

4. Carefully wipe the disc A5 with the brush to remove dust and dirt. Do not push down hard on the brush to avoid scratching or damaging the disc.

When not using the SENCOR SHF 902BK for an extended period:

1. Disconnect the power adapter A12 from the socket and the humidifier.

2. Allow the appliance to cool down and clean it thoroughly according to maintenance instructions.

3. Ensure the appliance and all accessories are completely clean and dry, and that no water remains in the tank A3.

4. Store the humidifier in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated location that is not exposed to extreme temperatures and is out of reach of children.
