What safety precautions should be observed regarding the electrical cord of the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
Ensure the supply cord is not exposed to heat, chemicals, or sharp objects. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard. The power supply cord connection must be installed in such a way that access is easy in case of emergency. Do not use with a timer.
What are the recommended installation location requirements for the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
The SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350 must be installed into an external wall cavity. The motor cannot be installed into an internal wall cavity or ceiling space where a buildup of grease can occur. Ensure that the location in which the appliance is installed has good and permanent ventilation. The fan unit is intended for mounting at a minimum height of 2.1 meters (measured to the lower part of the fan impeller) above a floor or the ground.
What is the recommended ducting length and type for the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
A length of 4 to 6 meters of flexi ducting is recommended, with at least 1 to 2 bends for optimal performance. The maximum ducting installation length is 10 meters. The system is designed to be installed using 200mm flexi ducting. Do not reduce the 200mm flexi duct size at any time and avoid sharp bends.
Why is flexible ducting recommended over rigid ducting for the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
The system works by pulling air through the hood and acoustically matched ducting. Using a complete rigid or semi-rigid ducting system can cause an organ piping effect, similar to a didgeridoo, where noise produced at one end is amplified out the other. The acoustically matched flexi-ducting helps drive the noise outside the house.
What items are included in the box with the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
The box includes:
1. Isodrive 1350 motor + housing (Approx. 5 metre, 10amp cable and standard male plug)
2. Flexible ducting (Approx. 6 metres, 200mm diameter)
3. Bell-mouth adapter ring 200mm
4. Back Draught Shutter
How do I perform a wall installation for the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
Follow these steps for wall installation:
1. Remove the system from the packaging.
2. Undo the 2 screws holding the front grille and the deflector, and remove them from the housing.
3. Remove the foam packaging material behind the grille.
4. Remove the motor from the housing by lifting the motor mounting bracket side flanges up and over the locating stops.
5. Cut a wall aperture measuring 340mm horizontally and 265mm vertically, ensuring vertical cuts are at 90 degrees to the horizontal cuts.
6. Apply a high-quality adhesive sealant to the rear of the front flange of the motor housing to prevent water ingress. Seal the entire gap between the flange and wall.
7. Secure the motor housing to the wall using 4 attachment screws.
8. Insert the motor assembly back into the housing, ensuring the internal electrical plug is connected to the mounted power outlet inside the housing.
9. Install the Front Grille and Deflector, and secure using grille attachment screws.
How do I remove the motor assembly from the housing of the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
To remove the motor assembly, slide the removable assembly along the side rails, lifting the motor mounting bracket side flanges up and over the locating stops.
What should I do if the wall aperture depth is less than 40mm during installation of the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
If you have less than 40mm of depth in the wall aperture, or if the wall requires extra stability for the motor housing, you may need to reinforce the wall with noggins and use the optional rear mounting bracket.
How should the flexible ducting be secured and installed for the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
Flexible ducting must be fully extended and cut to the required length. Ducting needs to be kept taut at all times. It must be installed with supports at maximum intervals of 1.0 meters using good quality aluminium foil tape or hangers. Ensure that the internal diameter is not restricted and minimize sagging or snaking between supports.
How can I install the ducting in a shallow roof space for the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
In shallow roof spaces, do not crush or kink flexible ducting as it reduces airflow. A 90-degree curve made of PVC or galvanized material can be used as a substitute for a bend to prevent crushing.
How is the optional Fire Ember Mesh Guard attached to the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
The guard is attached by screwing through both sides of the guard into the existing grille. It can be fitted to any installation with access to the front. The fire guard wire mesh should be checked and cleaned every 6 months if required.
What precautions should be taken when cleaning or restoring the wall around the SCHWEIGEN ENDLINE ISODRIVE SYSTEM 1350?
