To turn the SAMSUNG SM-A042F on, press and hold the Side button for a few seconds. To turn it off, press and hold the Side button. Alternatively, open the notification panel, swipe downwards, and tap the power icon. Then, tap Power off.

Step 1. Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the tray to loosen the tray.

Step 2. Pull out the tray gently from the tray slot.

Step 3. Place the SIM or USIM card on the tray with the gold colored contacts facing downwards and gently press the card into the tray to secure it.

Step 4. Insert the tray back into the tray slot.

You can conserve battery power on the SAMSUNG SM-A042F by using these methods:

Optimise the device using the device care feature.

When you are not using the device, turn off the screen by pressing the Side button.

Activate power saving mode.

Close unnecessary apps.

Deactivate the Bluetooth feature when not in use.

Deactivate auto syncing of apps that need to be synced.

Decrease the backlight time.

Decrease the screen brightness.

To change the screen lock method, open Settings, tap Lock screen, then tap Screen lock type, and select the method you want.

You can run two apps at the same time in split screen view. You can also run multiple apps at the same time in the pop up view. To launch Multi window by swiping, swipe with two fingers from the bottom of the screen towards the middle of the screen to enter split screen view. Alternatively, you can tap the Recents button, swipe to the left or right, tap an app icon, and then tap Open in split screen view or Open in pop up view.

On the Home screen or the Apps screen, drag an app over another app. A new folder containing the selected apps will be created. Tap Folder name and enter a folder name.

Step 1. On the Settings screen, tap Security and privacy, then Biometrics, and finally Face recognition.

Step 2. Read the on screen instructions and tap Continue.

Step 3. Set a screen lock method.

Step 4. Position your face inside the frame on the screen, and the camera will scan your face.

On the Settings screen, tap Security and privacy, then Biometrics, and then Fingerprints. Follow the on screen instructions to register your fingerprint. After registering, you can check whether your fingerprint is registered and its name by tapping Check added fingerprints.

Step 1. Connect your new SAMSUNG SM-A042F and the previous device using the USB cable. A USB connector may be needed depending on the previous device.

Step 2. When the app selection pop up window appears, tap Smart Switch, then Receive data.

Step 3. In the previous device, tap OK.

Step 4. On your SAMSUNG SM-A042F, select the option you want, tap Next, and then follow the on screen instructions to transfer data.
