How do I insert batteries into the Soundbar Remote Control?

Slide the back cover in the direction of the arrow until it is completely removed. Insert 2 AAA batteries (1.5V) oriented so that their polarity is correct. Slide the battery cover back into position.


How do I use the Soundbar Remote Control buttons?

Power: Turns the Soundbar on and off.

– Auto Power Down Function: The unit turns off automatically in TV ARC or eARC, HDMI, Wi-Fi, BT, D.IN mode if there is no audio signal for 18 minutes.

Source: Press to select a source connected to the Soundbar.

– Voice Feedback On/Off: Press and hold the (Source) button for 5 seconds while the Soundbar is off (Standby mode) to turn Voice Feedback on (“AUI ON”) or off (“AUI OFF” – Default).

Bluetooth PAIR: Switch the Soundbar to Bluetooth pairing mode. Press the button and wait for the “BT PAIRING” screen to connect a new Bluetooth device.

Mute: Press the (Mute) button to mute the sound. Press again to unmute.

SOUND MODE: Press to select an audio mode:

– Standard: Outputs the original sound.

– Surround: Provides a wider sound field.

– Game Pro: Provides stereoscopic sound for gaming.

– Adaptive Sound: Analyzes content in real time and optimizes the sound field.

CH LEVEL: Adjust the volume of each speaker (Center, Side, Wide, Front Top, Rear, Rear Top level).

Play / Pause: Press to play or pause music.

Up/Down/Left/Right:

– Music Skip: Press Right for next file, Left for previous file.

– ID SET: While powered off, press and hold the Up button for 5 seconds to perform ID SET for Subwoofer/Surround Speaker reconnection.

Info: Press to display information about the active function or codec. In BT mode, shows connected device or “BT ready”.

WOOFER LEVEL: Push the button up or down to adjust the woofer (bass) level.

VOLUME: Push the button up or down to adjust the volume.

– Mute: Press the VOL button to mute/unmute.

TONE CONTROL: Press to adjust treble or bass volume (enabled in modes other than Standard).

– Select TREBLE or BASS and use Up/Down buttons to adjust between -6 to +6.

– Changing bass level also adjusts the woofer level.


What are the Sound Control functions?

Active Voice Amplifier (AVA): Analyzes external noise in real time to keep voice audio clear. (Not supported by HW-Q700D).

SpaceFit Sound: Analyzes listening space for optimal sound (Not supported by HW-Q700D).

Voice enhance mode: Enhances dialogue in movies and TV.

Night mode: Optimizes for nighttime viewing with lower volume but clear dialogue.

Sound Grouping: Plays entire sound from both the main unit and Surround Speakers, ideal for large groups/spaces. (Activated when Surround Speakers are connected; sound differences between modes are nullified).

Private Rear Sound: Sets sound to come out only from the Surround Speakers. (Soundbar main unit and Subwoofer are muted; sound differences between modes are nullified; function turns off with power or lost connection).

Sync: Adjust audio delay (0-300ms) using Up/Down buttons if video and audio are unsynchronized (supported for some functions).

Surround speaker mode: (HW-Q930D only) Settings available.

Virtual Speaker function: Can be turned ON/OFF using Up/Down buttons.

7 Band EQ: Press and hold (Sound Control) for 5 seconds. Use Left/Right to select frequency (150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, 10kHz) and Up/Down to adjust (-6 to +6). (Sound mode must be Standard).

Prerequisites:

– Set the TV speaker to External Speaker.

– Supported TV manufacturers: Samsung, VIZIO, LG, Sony, Sharp, PHILIPS, PANASONIC, TOSHIBA, Hisense, RCA.

Steps:

1. Turn Off the Soundbar.

2. Push up and hold the WOOFER button on the Soundbar remote control for 5 seconds.

3. Each time you push and hold the WOOFER button up for 5 seconds, the mode cycles:

– “OFF-TV REMOTE” (Default): Disables TV remote control.

– “SAMSUNG-TV REMOTE”: Enables a Samsung TV’s IR remote control.

How do I connect the power cords for the Soundbar, Subwoofer, and Surround Speakers?

Connect the power cords in the following order:

1. Connect the Power cord to the Subwoofer.

What is the recommended speaker layout?

Place the Soundbar centered below the TV. Place the Subwoofer nearby, ideally on the floor. Position the Left and Right Surround Speakers behind the listening position, angled inwards between 135° and 150° relative to the front center.

CAUTION:

– Keep the Subwoofer and surround speakers (which have built-in wireless antennas) away from water and moisture.

– Ensure the areas around the Subwoofer and surround speakers are clear of obstructions for optimal performance.


How do I use the Surround speaker mode (HW-Q930D only)?

This mode optimizes surround sound based on speaker position. It’s available only on models with specific surround speakers.

To activate/change mode:

1. Press the (Sound Control) button on the remote.

2. Navigate to ‘Surround speaker’.

3. Use the Up/Down buttons to select ‘Front’ or ‘Rear’.

Positioning:

– Rear positioning (Default): Place surround speakers behind the listening area.

– Front positioning: Place surround speakers towards the front, facing you.

Note: The surround speaker mode defaults to rear position.


How do I manually connect the Subwoofer or Surround Speakers if they don’t connect automatically?

Before starting:

– Check power cables are properly connected to Soundbar, Subwoofer, and Surround Speakers.

2. Press and hold the Left button on the remote control for 5 seconds.

Steps:

What should I know about Bluetooth connections?

Place device within 1m for pairing.

If prompted for a PIN code, enter <0000>.

Soundbar auto-offs after 18 minutes in Ready state.

Search/connection issues may occur with strong electrical fields, multiple paired devices, or if the device is off/malfunctioning.

Keep away from devices generating electromagnetic waves (microwaves, wireless LAN).

Supports SBC data (44.1kHz, 48kHz).

Connect only to A2DP (AV) compatible devices.

Keep devices close; sound quality degrades with distance.

Connection may break if out of range or in poor reception areas.

Pre-connection Checklist:

– Wi-Fi connection is available only on Samsung TVs.

How do I use SpaceFit Sound?

SpaceFit Sound analyzes your listening space using the Soundbar’s microphone to provide optimized sound. (Not supported by HW-Q700D model, which only supports Method 2).

Method 1: Connecting via Soundbar

1. Press the (Sound Control) button on the remote. “SPACEFIT SOUND OFF” appears.

2. Press the Up button on the remote. “ON” appears, enabling SpaceFit Sound.

3. Press the Down button to turn it “OFF”.

– Available in all Sound modes.

Method 2: Connecting via TV

1. On your compatible Samsung TV menu, enable Adaptive Sound+ (Home → Menu → Settings → All Settings → General → Intelligent Mode Settings → Adaptive Sound+).

2. The Soundbar’s sound mode will automatically change to Adaptive Sound+.

Note: This function works when the Soundbar connects to some Samsung TVs.


How do I connect an external device (like a BD player or game console) using HDMI for Dolby Atmos / DTS:X?

Pre-connection Checklist:

– If device has Secondary Audio option, set it to Off.

– Ensure content supports Dolby Atmos® / DTS:X.

Steps:

1. Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port of the external device to the HDMI port on the bottom of the Soundbar.

2. Connect an HDMI cable (supplied) from the HDMI TO TV (eARC/ARC) port on the Soundbar to the HDMI IN (ARC/eARC) port on your TV.

3. Press the (Multi Function) / (Source) button on the top of the Soundbar or the (Source) button on the remote control to select the “D.IN” mode.

4. Your Soundbar will play sounds from the external device.


How do I connect a mobile device to the Soundbar via Bluetooth?

Initial Connection:

1. Ensure the mobile device is within 1m.

2. Enter Bluetooth pairing mode on the Soundbar:

– Press the PAIR button on the remote, OR

5. Insert a wall mounting screw (not supplied) through each Holder-Screw, then screw them firmly into the wall holes/anchors.

7. Hang the Soundbar with attached brackets onto the Holder-Screws on the wall. Slide the Soundbar down slightly so the Bracket-Wall Mounts rest securely on the Holder-Screws.
