7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

The RTS LCP-102 is a Level Control Panel that combines the features of an analog trim panel, a CDP (Camera Delegate) panel, and a PAP (Program Assign Panel) in a single frame. It allows you to switch between three panel modes and make configuration changes using the front panel menu selector. In each mode, you can make up to 64 assignments and adjust their levels.

The three operational modes are:

TRIMS mode: You can assign and adjust the analog input and output trims for up to 64 intercom ports.

PAP mode: You can select the program input source and set its level for each of 64 IFBs.

CDP mode: You can assign up to 64 intercom ports to any combination of party lines and then adjust the listen level for each participant on that party line.

The RTS LCP-102 connects to the auxiliary data port of any ADAM, ADAM CS, Cronus or Zeus intercom system.

The RTS LCP-102 occupies two (2) rack spaces in a standard 19-inch equipment rack or bay. It is 7.25 inches (184.2mm) deep behind the front panel, including the rear panel connectors. There are no special ventilation requirements.

The RTS LCP-102 should be mounted at or near operator eye-level when standing or sitting to permit easy access to the front panel controls and displays.

During a normal power up, the alphanumeric displays on the RTS LCP-102 will first show asterisks (****). After a few moments, any previously assigned configurations will appear in the displays. If there are no current assignments, the displays will show dashes.

If the RTS LCP-102 cannot establish communication with the intercom system, all displays will continue to show asterisks. In this situation, you should check the cable from the first RTS LCP-102 to the intercom system and verify that the intercom system is operational.

The programming menus on the RTS LCP-102 are accessed using the ADDRESS KEY. The menus are summarized in the table below:

Before programming assignments, each RTS LCP-102 should be set to a unique panel address. Note that each programming step should be performed within approximately 10 seconds, otherwise the procedure will be cancelled.

1. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until SERVICE displays.

2. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder once. DIMMER appears in the menu display.

3. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until SET ADDR displays.

4. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder once. ADDR 1 appears in the menu display.

5. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder to select ADDR 1 for the first RTS LCP-102. This stores the setting, and all displays show asterisks for a few moments, then show dashes.

6. Double-tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder to exit programming mode when finished. Otherwise, the RTS LCP-102 automatically exits after 10 seconds.

7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 to set addresses on additional RTS LCP-102s, selecting ADDR 2, ADDR 3, and so on.

The address setting is retained in memory when power is removed.

To adjust the dimmer on the RTS LCP-102, follow these steps:

1. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until SERVICE displays.

2. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder once. DIMMER appears in the display window.

3. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder again. One or more right-pointing arrowheads will appear.

4. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder to increase or decrease the brightness of the arrowheads.

5. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder to save changes. All displays will flash asterisks at the new brightness level and then return to normal operation.

To select one of the three available panel modes on the RTS LCP-102, do the following:

1. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until SERVICE appears.

2. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder.

3. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until SET MODE appears.

4. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder.

5. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until the desired mode (Trims, PAP, or CDP) appears.

6. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder to select the desired panel mode.

Within each panel mode on the RTS LCP-102, there are four setup pages available, with each page letting you set up 16 assignments. To select a page:

1. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until PAGE SEL appears.

2. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder.

3. Turn the ADDRESS KEY encoder until the desired page (e.g., PAGE 1) appears.

4. Tap the ADDRESS KEY encoder. Any assignments already configured for the page will appear in the display window. Otherwise, the display will show dashes.

In TRIMS mode, you can assign individual intercom ports to a display to adjust their input and output trims.

To configure TRIMS mode assignments:

1. Place the RTS LCP-102 in TRIMS mode.

2. Select one of the four setup pages.

3. Tap a specific key encoder to select one of the 16 assignable displays that is not currently in use.

4. Turn the encoder to scroll through the list of intercom ports.

5. Tap the encoder to select the intercom port. The selected port is now assigned to the display.

6. Repeat as needed for other displays.

To cancel or clear an assignment:

1. Tap the assignment encoder knob. The display will go blank.

2. Tap the encoder knob again. The display returns to showing dashes, indicating no assignment.

TRIMS Mode Operation:

For each assigned display, turn the upper encoder under the display to change the input level. Turn the lower encoder to change the output level. Turning an encoder one notch in either direction displays the current level, and further rotation changes the level.

To assign PAPs to the RTS LCP-102, follow these steps:

1. Using AZedit, define the output port for each IFB you want to set up, then send the changes to the intercom system. The output port must always be defined first using the intercom system software.

2. Place the RTS LCP-102 in PAP mode.

3. Select one of the four setup pages.

4. Tap the encoder knob under one of the currently unused assignable displays to enter IFB assign mode.

5. Turn the encoder knob to scroll through the list of IFBs.

6. Tap the encoder knob once to assign the IFB to the display assignment.

7. With the display showing the name of the IFB, tap the encoder knob. The RTS LCP-102 enters input port assignment mode and a scroll list of intercom ports will appear in the display.

8. Turn the upper encoder knob to select the intercom port where the program source for the IFB is connected.

9. Tap the encoder to assign the selected port. The display will show the IFB name, and the IFB is now completely set up.

10. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to make further assignments.

To change the program level for an assigned IFB in PAP mode on your RTS LCP-102, simply turn either encoder knob for that assignment. Turning the encoder knob one notch in either direction displays the current level. Further rotation changes the level.

To assign CDPs to the RTS LCP-102, follow these steps:

1. Place the RTS LCP-102 in CDP mode.

2. Select one of the four setup pages.

3. Tap the encoder knob under one of the currently unused assignable displays.

4. Double-tap either encoder knob to access a scroll list of intercom ports.

5. Turn the encoder knob to locate the intercom port you want to assign to a party line.

6. Tap the encoder knob to select the intercom port.

7. Tap the encoder knob again to access the scroll list of party lines.

8. Turn the encoder knob to locate the party line you want to assign the intercom port to.

9. Tap the encoder knob. This assigns the port to the party line as a talker/listener, and the name of the port reappears in the display window.

10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 for additional assignments.

To cancel an assignment, tap the assignment encoder knob. The display will go blank. Tap it again, and the display will show dashes.

Once a port is assigned to a party line in CDP mode on the RTS LCP-102, you can perform the following operations:

To change the listen level for a port:

Turn either encoder knob for that assignment one notch in either direction to display the current level. Further rotation will change the level.

To display the party line the port is assigned to:

Tap either encoder knob once. The assigned party line name will display for about four seconds, and then the port name will reappear.

Settings for address, current panel mode, and current setup pages are saved directly in the RTS LCP-102 and are retained if the power is turned off.

All display assignments and level settings are uploaded to the connected intercom system and become part of the online configuration. This configuration is retained if there is a loss of power to the intercom system. However, if you wish to have a backup copy of your settings, you must save the settings to disk using your intercom system’s configuration software.
