The REDEXIM RINK 1205 Topdresser is built solely for spreading small-grained, loose material such as sand, small granular material, or similar products. Any other usage is not in accordance with the intended use. Usage in accordance with the intended use also includes compliance with the manufacturer’s conditions of operation, maintenance, and repair.

Any person responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the spreader must have read and understood the operating instructions, particularly the Safety Regulations chapter.

General Safety:

• Detach the spreader from the towing vehicle during maintenance and service work.

• Only use original spare parts from the manufacturer for repairs.

• Observe the general regulations for safety and prevention of accidents.

• Accompanying persons are not allowed.

Before Operation:

• The operator must be familiar with all fittings, controls, and their functioning.

• Ensure the spreader is properly attached to the towing vehicle to avoid risk of injuries.

• Before driving away, check the immediate vicinity and ensure a good field of vision.

• The operator is obliged to check the spreader for any external damage or failure before putting it into operation. Any changes that might affect safety must be immediately remedied.

During Operation:

• No one is allowed to enter the loading ramp while spreading is in operation. A warning label is on both sides of the spreader and must be legible.

• Do not enter the danger zone of the spreader during operation, as rotating parts and flying particles might cause injuries.

Maintenance Safety:

• Adjusting and repair work on the axle (wheel bearings, tyres) must only be undertaken by properly trained and authorized personnel.

• Changes to and rebuilding of the spreader (other than those allowed by the manufacturer) are not allowed for safety reasons.

Before starting work on the hydraulic system, it is important that it is without pressure. The hydraulic hose pipes must be regularly checked and replaced if damaged or worn out. The replacement hose pipes must conform with the manufacturer’s technical requirements.

A spreader may only be towed along public roads once it holds the necessary registration. A complete road-worthiness certificate, licensing permit, and the additional safety facilities necessary for this (Lighting set, wheel chocks) are obtainable on request.

The typeplate is fastened onto the front right-hand side of the spreader.

Should the spreader be used on public roads:

• Attach license plate to plate holder at the left-handed rear side.

• Check lighting set (if equipped).

After the first ride with a full load:

• Retighten wheel nuts.

• Check wheel hub clearance and have it adjusted, if necessary.

• Test tyre pressure.

• Check for any externally recognizable failures or damage and repair them.

• Check tyre pressure.

• Check lighting (if equipped).

• Check conveyor belt tread, reset if necessary. The conveyor belt must not graze the sides.

Coupling:

1. Attach the spreader to the towing vehicle.

2. Carry out hydraulic connection: Pressure pipe positioned below, return pipe above. Oil circulation is required. The factory-filled hydraulic liquid is CG46.

3. If using an External Oil Supply, mount the plug-on pump on the PTO driver on the tractor and secure it against slippage using the mounted torque support (PTO speed 450 rpm). Ensure oil temperature is around 25°C and check the oil level before starting work.

4. If equipped, plug the seven-pole plug into the towing vehicle.

Important: Position hydraulic hoses in such a way that they do not drag on the ground or chafe at the towing vehicle.

Taking off:

Taking off the spreader is carried out in an analogous (reverse) way.

When loading the spreader, pay attention to the desired maximum ground pressure and the authorized total weight.

The spreading operation is controlled by two main factors:

• Brush roller speed: This can only be controlled by the tractor’s revolutions per minute (revs).

• Conveyor belt speed: This is set using the regulator, which has a scale distribution from 0 to 10.

The spreading thickness (mm) depends on the speed of the towing vehicle and the speed of the conveyor belt. You should set the required spreading thickness on a firm surface before starting work by adjusting the conveyor belt speed controller to the required value.

Lubricate the spreader every 50 operating hours with multi-purpose grease at the following points:

1. Bearings on both sides of the brush roll.

2. Bearings on both sides of the rear conveyor shaft.

3. Bearings on both sides of the front conveyor shaft.

Bearings without a lubricating nipple do not require greasing.

An oil change for the conveyor belt gears should be performed every 2 years.

1. Unscrew the filler screw.

2. Loosen the drain plug from the below inside area and drain off the oil.

3. Screw on the drain plug with a new gasket.

4. Add 0.6 liters of Oil SAE 120 to 140.

5. Screw on the filler screw with the new gasket.

To adjust the distance according to requirements:

1. Loosen the two screws on each side of the brush roll.

2. Move the brush roll until it slightly contacts the conveyor belt.

3. Retighten the screws.

If the conveyor belt is slipping:

1. Loosen the counternut.

2. Turn the adjustment nut once clockwise.

3. Tighten the counternut.

Note: Excessive stretching can reduce the life span of the conveyor belt.

To remove the conveyor belt:

1. Loosen screws on both sides and remove the chassis.

2. Remove the brush roller by loosening its screws.

3. Release the tension on the conveyor belt on both sides using the tension screws.

4. Remove the bearing on the right side (as seen in the direction of travel).

5. Pull away the side element with the tension bearing.

6. Remove the conveyor belt.

To install the conveyor belt:

Reassembly takes place in reverse order.

1. Tension the conveyor belt on both sides evenly using the two tension screws until the marked length is stretched to 487 mm [19.17″] (distance between centres).

2. Allow the conveyor belt to run in for approximately 30 minutes until it runs centrally.

The conveyor belt should not graze the sides. If readjustment is necessary, increase tension on the side which is doing the grazing.

Note: Too much tension will reduce the life span of the conveyor belt.

This maintenance is for the optional external hydraulic unit, which is available as additional equipment.

Oil change for the hydraulic pump (every 100 operating hours):

1. Unscrew the filler screw.

2. Loosen the drain plug and drain off the oil.

3. Screw on the drain plug with a new gasket.

4. Add oil SAE 90 right up to the level of the control screw.

5. Screw on the filler screw with a new gasket.

Oil change for the hydraulic tank (according to requirements):

1. Unscrew the filling nozzle.

2. Release the suction hose and drain off the oil.

3. Screw the suction hose back into place.

4. Top up with Bio-Hydraulic oil CG 46 until the level reaches the centre of the viewing window.

5. Screw the filling nozzle back on.

Please note: This is a closed hydraulic circuit. To prevent the ingress of contaminants, the runback filter must be replaced every 100 operating hours.
