- To set these locks, slide the lever down on each door and close it. The doors can only be opened from outside with the door unlocked.
- To return the doors to normal operation, slide the lever up.

If your vehicle’s battery has run down, follow these steps to use another vehicle and jumper cables to start it:
- Check the other vehicle. It must have a 12-volt battery with a negative ground system.
- Get the vehicles close enough so the jumper cables can reach, but ensure they do not touch.
- Turn off the ignition on both vehicles. Unplug unnecessary accessories. Turn off the radio and all lamps.
- Open the hoods and locate the batteries. Find the positive (+) and negative (−) terminal locations.

- Try to start the vehicle that had the dead battery.
- Disconnect the jumper cables in reverse order:
- Disconnect the black negative (−) cable from the vehicle that had the dead battery.
- Disconnect the black negative (−) cable from the vehicle with the good battery.
- Disconnect the red positive (+) cable from the vehicle with the good battery.
- Disconnect the red positive (+) cable from the other vehicle.

- Turn the jack handle clockwise to raise the vehicle far enough off the ground for the spare tire to fit.
- Remove the wheel nuts and the flat tire.
- Install the spare tire.
- Remove any rust or dirt from the wheel bolts, mounting surfaces, and spare wheel.
- Place the compact spare tire on the wheel-mounting surface.
- Reinstall the wheel nuts with the rounded end toward the wheel. Tighten by hand.
- Turn the jack handle counterclockwise to lower the jack completely.
- Tighten the wheel nuts firmly in a crisscross sequence.
