The PIFCO P44011 Mini Dehumidifier consists of the following parts:

The box also includes an Instruction Manual and an AC/DC power adaptor.

Before your first use of the PIFCO P44011, please follow these steps:

1. Remove your appliance from the packaging.

2. Check that there is no damage to the cord or any visible damage to the body.

3. Your appliance is now ready for normal use.

Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.

1. Connect the power cord to the appliance and plug the adaptor into the mains outlet.

2. Move the On/Off button to the On position. The mini dehumidifier will begin to operate, and the green LED will turn on. You should be able to listen and feel for the air blowing from the dry air outlet.

3. To switch off the unit, move the On/Off button to the Off position, and the mini dehumidifier will turn off.

1. When the water tank becomes full with 500 ml of water, the PIFCO P44011 will automatically switch off, and the Red ‘FULL’ LED will turn on.

2. To empty the water tank, first switch off the mini dehumidifier by pressing the ‘On / Off’ button to the ‘Off’ position. Then, remove the water tank from the unit and pour the water down the drain. Put the water tank back into the unit. To continue dehumidifying, press the ‘On / Off’ button to turn ON the appliance.

To clean and care for your PIFCO P44011:

• If the tank is dirty or smells unpleasant, wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. ENSURE THE TANK IS PROPERLY SEATED WHEN REFITTING.

• Use a damp cloth to clean the appliance body.

• Reassemble when all parts are dry.

WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE APPLIANCE IN WATER.

If the PIFCO P44011 is not being used for a long period of time, follow these storage steps:

• Empty any water from the tank.

• Fold up the power supply cord.

• Clean the air filter.

• Store the appliance in a safe, dry place, out of reach of children.

When using your PIFCO P44011, always follow these basic safety precautions:

• Check that the voltage of the main circuit corresponds with the rating of the appliance before operating.

• Always use the appliance on a smooth, even, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Do not place the unit on a hot surface.

• Do not immerse cords, plugs, or any part of the appliance in water or any other liquid.

• Do not operate with wet hands.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Always unplug it when not in use or before cleaning.

• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children or pets.

• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Switch off at the wall socket then remove the plug from the socket when not in use or before cleaning.

• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it come into contact with any hot surfaces.

• Do not pull the plug out by the cord as this may damage the plug and/or the cable.

• This appliance is for household use only. Do not use this product for anything other than its intended use.

• Do not carry the appliance by the power cord.

• Do not use the appliance outdoors.

• Use of an extension cord with this appliance is not recommended. However, if it is necessary to use one, ensure that the lead is suited to the power consumption of the appliance to avoid overheating.

• Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.

• If the supply cord or the appliance is damaged, stop using it immediately and seek advice from the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person.

• In case of technical problems, switch off the product and do not attempt to repair it yourself. Return the appliance to an authorised service facility for examination, adjustment, or repair. Always insist on the use of original spare parts.

• In the unlikely event the appliance develops a fault, stop using it immediately and seek advice from the service department.

As the colours in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings in your plug, proceed as follows:

• The wire coloured Blue is the Neutral and must be connected to the terminal marked [N] or coloured black.

• The wire coloured Brown is the Live and must be connected to the terminal marked [L] or coloured red.

• The wire coloured Green/Yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter [E] or the Earth symbol (÷).

• On no account must either the brown or the blue wire be connected to the [EARTH] terminal.

• Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly.

• The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the same rating already fitted, conforming to BS 1362, and be ASTA approved.

• If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

WARNING: This Appliance MUST be Earthed.

If your PIFCO P44011 is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and the fuse needs replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

If you need to remove the plug, disconnect it from the mains, then cut it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of an electric shock.

Appliances bearing the symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin may not be disposed of in domestic rubbish. You are required to dispose of old electrical and electronic appliances like the PIFCO P44011 separately.

The WEEE directive, introduced in August 2006, states that all electrical items must be recycled, rather than taken to landfill. Please arrange to take this appliance to your local Civic Amenity site for recycling, once it has reached the end of its life.
