To ensure the best performance from your PHILIPS 65OLED850, it is important to follow these care instructions for the OLED screen:

• The TV should be placed in a location without direct sunlight shining on the screen.

• To execute the cleaning process in the background, your TV should be left in standby mode.

• Avoid continuously displaying static images or static parts in moving images (like news ticker bars, soccer scores, game HUDs…).

• If you never put your TV in standby, you will be notified by on-screen messages that the display needs to perform a clean-up process. Always follow these instructions. Repeatedly postponing this process may result in image retention, which could void your warranty.

To protect the screen, your PHILIPS 65OLED850 OLED TV needs a refreshing process over time. There are two types:

Normal refreshing: This occurs automatically and takes a few minutes while the TV is in standby mode. For this to happen, always use the remote control to switch off the TV and keep the TV power plugged in.

Deep refreshing: This takes a few minutes and needs to be triggered by the user. It can be activated manually via Settings > Display and sound > Screen > OLED SCREEN SETTINGS > Clear residual image. A reminder message may also appear on screen. This process should only be done when a residual image is visible on the screen even after 8 hours of standby. Performing it too often may reduce the OLED display’s lifetime.

During any refreshing process:

• Do not touch or apply pressure to the TV screen.

• Always use the remote control to switch off the TV and keep the power plugged in.

It is strongly recommended to follow these instructions to take care of your PHILIPS 65OLED850 OLED TV:

• Do not display any still image continuously or the same image for more than 10 minutes.

• Use ECO, HDR ECO or Dolby Vision Filmmaker as the picture style in normal home viewing conditions.

• Use an OLED Contrast setting of 50 or below when playing games or watching TV programs with logos or clocks.

• Switch off the On Screen Display (e.g., home menus) of TV applications when not in use.

• Switch off the On Screen Display from connected external devices (e.g., DVD player).

• Avoid displaying video with bright colours (including white), text, clocks, or logos on any part of the screen for a long time.

• Use Wide screen or Fill screen as the picture format option.

• Always watch video in full screen instead of a small window.

• Do not attach any sticker or label to the OLED panel.

To reduce the chances of residual images on the TV screen, the screen saver (a moving logo) on your PHILIPS 65OLED850 will be triggered in the following circumstances:

– When static setting menu elements are shown on screen for more than 2 minutes.

– When static setting menu elements of Apps are shown on screen for more than 2 minutes.

– When Teletext is being displayed for more than 2 minutes.

The screen saver may not be triggered when pausing playback from an external source (e.g., HDMI), as the TV is not displaying static menu elements. Once active, the screen saver can be closed by pressing any remote control button.

The Dashboard is a side panel on your PHILIPS 65OLED850 that provides access to Settings, device controls, notifications, and more. It can be accessed in three ways:

1. Navigating to the profile icon in the upper right of the home screen.

2. Pressing the DASHBOARD key on the remote control.

3. Long pressing the HOME key on the remote control.

The dashboard contains the following features:

• Profile: Display current user profile or add a new one.

• Settings: Access all setting menus.

• Clock and screensaver: Indicates the system clock and allows you to activate the screen saver.

• Sources: Launch the input source list.

• Picture / Wi-Fi / Accessibility / Bluetooth®: Quick links to adjust these settings.

• Notifications: Provides messages about the Google TV system.

You can set your PHILIPS 65OLED850 to either Google TV mode or Basic Mode.

Basic Mode: Contains only Live TV and External devices (e.g., HDMI) features. The Home screen has two rows: one with Watch TV, TV Guide, Sources, and Dashboard icons, and a second with pre-installed Apps. The Dashboard in this mode is limited to setting changes and system notifications.

Google TV Mode: Requires you to log in with your Google account and have an internet connection. It includes all Basic Mode features plus Google’s personalized services, like movies and TV shows from streaming apps, personalized recommendations, and Google Assistant for voice control. The Home screen has multiple tabs (e.g., Home, Apps, Library, Search) with rows of apps and content recommendations.

To open the Home screen and an item on your PHILIPS 65OLED850:

1. Press HOME.

2. Select an item and press OK to open or start it.

3. To go back to the Home screen, press the Back key continuously or press the HOME key.

When opening the Home screen, any background application or content playback will stop. You must select the application or content again from the Home screen to resume it.

The wall mount size for your PHILIPS 65OLED850 is 300×300. It requires M6 screws with a minimum length of 10 mm and a maximum length of 15 mm. Wall mounting requires special skills and should only be performed by qualified personnel.

• Position the TV where light does not shine directly on the screen.

• Dim the lighting conditions in the room for the best Ambilight effect.

• The ideal distance to watch the TV is 2 to 5 times its screen height. When seated, your eyes should be level with the center of the screen.

• When wall mounted, position the TV from 7 to 10 cm away from the wall.

• When the TV is on its stand, position it 10 to 20 cm away from the wall.

• Keep the TV away from dust-producing sources like stoves and clean the dust regularly.

1. Insert the power cable into the POWER connector on the back of the TV.

2. Make sure the power cable is securely inserted in the connector.

3. Ensure that the power plug in the wall socket is accessible at all times.

4. When you unplug the power cable, always pull the plug, never pull the cable.

Although the TV has very low standby power consumption, unplug the power cable to save energy if you do not use the TV for a long period of time.

Insert the antenna plug firmly into the Antenna socket at the back of the TV. You can connect your own antenna or an antenna signal from a distribution system. Use an IEC Coax 75 Ohm RF antenna connector. This connection is used for DVB-T and DVB-C input signals.

Attach the satellite F-type connector to the satellite connection labeled SAT at the back of your PHILIPS 65OLED850 TV.

Top Section:

• (Standby / On): Switch the TV on or to Standby. Long press to reboot.

• VOICE microphone: For voice commands.

• AMBILIGHT: Select an Ambilight style.

• (SOURCES): Open or close the Sources menu.

• (DASHBOARD): Launch the Dashboard to access settings, device controls, etc.

• (Google Voice Search): Start a Google Voice Search.

Middle Section:

• TV Guide: Open or close the TV Guide.

• OK key: Confirm a selection or open the channel list.

• Arrow / navigation keys: Navigate up, down, left, or right.

• OPTIONS (+): Open or close the options menu.

• (Back): Return to the previous channel or menu.

• Volume / Mute: Adjust volume or mute sound.

• 123 key: Turn hidden function keys (number and playback keys) on or off.

• Quick Menu / MENU: Open the Quick Menu.

• SUBTITLE: Open Subtitle page. Long press for Text/Teletext.

• TV / EXIT: Switch back to TV or stop an interactive TV app.

• (HOME): Open the Home menu. Long press to access the Dashboard.

• (Channel): Switch to the next or previous channel.

Bottom Section:

• Colour keys: Direct selection of options. Blue key opens Help.

• NETFLIX: Launch the Netflix app.

• prime video: Launch the Amazon Prime Video app.

• Eco / Green key: Press to be reminded to enter Eco settings menu; long press to open it directly.

• Playback keys (hidden): Control playback (Play, Pause, Rewind, Fast forward).

• YouTube: Launch the YouTube app.

• (Apps): Launch the ‘Your apps’ page.

The remote control for your PHILIPS 65OLED850 uses both Bluetooth and IR (infrared). For advanced operations like voice search, you need to pair the TV with the remote control.

During the initial TV installation, you will be prompted to press the Home + Back keys to pair the remote control.

If the pairing was lost, you can pair it again by pressing the Home + Back key for approximately 3 seconds.

Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Remote and accessories > Remote control settings > Pair remote control and follow the on-screen instructions.

For a successful pairing:

• The LED indicator around the microphone will blink when in pairing mode.

• Keep the remote control close to the TV (within 1m) during pairing.

• If the TV doesn’t launch the voice control field when the voice button is pressed, pairing was unsuccessful.

• It’s advisable to wait until the TV has fully started up before entering pairing mode.

Before using voice search, you must pair the remote control with your PHILIPS 65OLED850 TV.

To use Voice Search:

1. Press and hold the voice search key on the remote control. The blue light will turn on, and the search field will open.

2. Speak clearly into the microphone what you are looking for. Once you are done speaking, release the key to start the search.

3. In the list of search results, select the item you want.

Charging:

The remote control has a non-replaceable battery. You can charge it in two ways:

• Wired Charging: Connect the included USB-C cable to the port in front of the remote control and to a USB power supply device (5.0V 0.5A). The white LED at the microphone hole will glow during charging and turn off when fully charged.

• Wireless Charging: Place the remote control on a compatible Qi wireless charger. The wireless charging coil is located at the Philips logo on the reverse side. If not aligned properly, the white LED may blink rapidly.

Cleaning:

The remote control has a scratch-resistant coating. To clean it, use a soft, damp cloth. Never use substances like alcohol, chemicals, or household cleaners.

If you cannot find the remote control, you can use the joystick key on the back of your PHILIPS 65OLED850 for basic operations.

To open the basic menu:

1. With the TV on, press the joystick key on the back of the TV.

2. Press left or right to select Volume, Channel, or Sources.

3. Press up or down to adjust the volume or tune to the next/previous channel. You can also go through the list of sources.

4. The menu will disappear automatically.

To switch the TV to standby, select the power icon and press the joystick key.

To start the satellite installation on your PHILIPS 65OLED850:

1. Select Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels > Satellite Installation and press OK. Enter your PIN code if necessary.

2. Select Search for Satellite and press OK.

3. Select Search and press OK. The TV will begin searching for satellites.

4. Select Install and press OK. The TV will show the current satellite installation setup.

5. In Installation System, select the number of satellites you want to install or choose a Unicable system. Adjust settings as needed.

6. The TV will search for available satellites. This may take a few minutes.

7. When the TV finds the satellites you need, select Install.

8. If a satellite offers Channel Packages, select the package you need (Quick or Full install).

9. To store the setup and channels, select Finish.

Automatic Channel Update:

If you receive digital channels, you can set the TV to automatically update them. Once a day, at 7 AM, the TV updates and stores new channels while in standby. To switch this feature off, go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels > Antenna/Cable Installation > Automatic Channel Update and select Off.

Manual Channel Update:

To start an update manually:

1. Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels > Antenna/Cable Installation.

2. Select Search for Channels and press OK.

3. Select Start and press OK.

4. Select Update Digital Channels, select Next, and press OK.

5. Select Start and press OK to begin the update.

Reinstall All Channels:

This will reinstall all channels and leave other TV settings untouched.

1. Go to Settings > Channels and Inputs > Channels > Antenna/Cable Installation.

2. Select Search for Channels and press OK.

3. Select Start and press OK.

4. Select Advanced channel reinstall and press OK.

5. Select the installation type (Antenna or Cable) and the type of channels (Digital and Analogue, or Only Digital).

6. Select Start to begin the reinstallation.

To check the reception quality of a digital channel:

1. Tune to the channel.

2. Select Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels > Antenna/Cable Installation or Antenna Installation and press OK. Enter your PIN code if necessary.

3. Select Digital: Reception Test and press OK.

4. Select Search and press OK. The digital frequency for this channel will be shown.

5. Select Search again and press OK to check the signal quality. The test result will be displayed. You can reposition the antenna or check connections to improve reception.

6. You can also change the frequency manually by selecting the frequency number and using the navigation keys.

7. Press the left arrow key repeatedly to close the menu.

With Channel List Copy, you can copy the channels installed on one TV to another PHILIPS 65OLED850 TV of the same range, using a USB flash drive (minimum 1 GB).

To copy a channel list from the TV:

1. Switch on the TV with channels installed.

2. Plug in a USB flash drive.

3. Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels > Channel List Copy and press OK.

4. Select Copy to USB and press OK. You may be asked to enter your Child Lock PIN code.

5. Once copying is done, unplug the USB flash drive.

To upload a channel list to the TV:

1. Plug in the USB flash drive that holds the channel list.

2. Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels > Channel List Copy > Copy to TV and press OK. Enter your PIN code if necessary.

3. The TV will notify you when the copy is successful. Unplug the USB flash drive.

To search for a channel in a long list:

1. Press the TV key.

2. Press OK to open the current channel list.

3. Press + OPTIONS.

4. Select Select Channel List and press OK.

5. Select Filter Antenna Channels or Filter Cable Channels and press OK.

6. Select Search Channel and press OK to open a text field.

7. Enter a name or part of a name using the remote control or on-screen keyboard, then select Apply and press OK. The TV will search for matching channel names.

The search results are listed as a new channel list. The results will disappear when you select another channel list.

To prevent children from watching a channel, you can lock it. You will need to enter the 4-digit Child Lock PIN code to watch a locked channel.

To lock a channel:

1. Press the TV key.

2. Press OK to open the channel list.

3. Select the channel you want to lock.

4. Press + OPTIONS and select Lock Channel, then press OK.

5. Enter your 4-digit PIN code if asked. A locked channel is marked with a lock icon.

To unlock a channel:

1. Press the TV key.

2. Press OK to open the channel list.

3. Select the channel you want to unlock.

4. Press + OPTIONS and select Unlock Channel, then press OK.

5. Enter your 4-digit PIN code if asked.

You can set an age rating to prevent children from watching programs unsuitable for their age. When the age rating of a digital program is equal to or higher than the age you have set, the program will be locked.

To set an age rating:

1. Select Settings > System > Child Lock > Parental Rating and press OK.

2. Enter a 4-digit Child Lock code. If you haven’t set a code yet, select Set Code in Child Lock to create one.

3. In Parental Rating, select the desired age and press OK.

To switch off the parental age rating, select None. However, some countries require you to set an age rating.

Subtitles:

• To show subtitles, press + OPTIONS and select Subtitles. You can switch them On, Off, or select Automatic.

• To set preferred primary and secondary subtitle languages, go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels and select Primary Subtitles or Secondary Subtitles.

• If preferred languages are unavailable, you can temporarily select another language via + OPTIONS > Subtitle Language.

Audio Language:

• To set preferred primary and secondary audio languages, go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Channels and select Primary Audio or Secondary Audio.

• If preferred languages are unavailable, you can temporarily select another language via + OPTIONS > Audio Language.

You can create up to 4 different lists of favorite channels for easy navigation.

To create a Favorites List:

1. While watching TV, press OK to open the current channel list.

2. Press + OPTIONS.

3. Select Create Favourites List and press OK.

4. In the list on the left, select a channel you want to add and press OK. The channel will appear in the list on the right.

5. Continue adding channels as needed.

6. When finished, press the Back key. The TV will ask you to rename the list.

To edit a Favorites List:

• Rename: Open the list, press + OPTIONS, and select Rename Favourites List.

• Reorder: Open the list, press + OPTIONS, select Reorder Channels, select a channel, and use the up/down keys to move it.

• Remove: Open the list, press + OPTIONS, and select Remove Favourites List.

To open Text/Teletext while watching TV channels, press + OPTIONS and select Teletext.

To select a Text page:

1. Enter the page number with the number keys.

2. Use the arrow keys to navigate.

3. Press a colour key to select a colour-coded subject at the bottom of the screen.

To select a sub-page, press the left or right arrow keys.

To access Text options (like Freeze page, Dual screen), press + OPTIONS while in Text mode.

To close Text, press the Back key.

To open the TV Guide, which shows a list of current and scheduled TV programs, press the TV GUIDE key on your remote. Press the key again to close it.

The first time you open it, the TV will scan all channels for program information, which may take several minutes.

From the TV Guide, you can tune to a current program by selecting it and pressing OK.

To view details of a selected program, press + OPTIONS and select Programme Info.

EasyLink allows you to operate connected HDMI CEC-compatible devices with your TV remote control. To use it, EasyLink must be switched on both on the TV and the connected device.

• Switch on EasyLink: Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > External Inputs > EASYLINK > EasyLink > On.

• Operate devices with TV remote: Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > External Inputs > EASYLINK > EasyLink remote control > On.

• Power off devices with TV: Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > External Inputs > EASYLINK > EasyLink auto device off > On.

• Power on TV with devices: Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > External Inputs > EASYLINK > EasyLink auto TV on > On.

If a connected HDMI device is not working correctly or shows a distorted picture, you can adjust the signal quality setting. First, switch to the HDMI source.

Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > External Inputs > HDMI (port) > HDMI Ultra HD and select one of the following:

• Standard: For legacy devices, allows maximum up to Ultra HD (50Hz or 60Hz) YCbCr 4:2:0 signals.

• Optimal: For the highest quality HDMI signal for 4K programs or movie watching. Allows maximum up to Ultra HD (100Hz or 120/144Hz) RGB 4:4:4 or YCbCr 4:4:4/4:2:2/4:2:0 signals.

• Optimal (Auto Game xxxHz Pro): Enables TV to support all gaming features including HDMI Variable Refresh Rate, FreeSync Premium, and G-Sync. It also automatically sets the Picture style to Game when a game is detected.

• Automatic: Enables the TV to automatically match the setting to your connected HDMI device.

Select Standard if the picture or sound are distorted.

You can connect an HTS using either an HDMI cable or an Optical cable.

Using HDMI ARC/eARC:

Use an HDMI cable to connect the HTS to the HDMI 2 port on your TV, which supports Audio Return Channel (ARC) and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC). This connection sends the TV’s sound to the HTS without needing an extra audio cable. HDMI eARC supports the latest high-bitrate audio formats.

Using Digital Audio Out – Optical:

If your HTS does not have an HDMI ARC connection, use an optical cable to connect from the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port on the TV to the Audio In – Optical connection on the HTS. This connection can carry 5.1 audio channels.

To watch premium scrambled HD programs, you can use a CI+ module (Conditional Access Module – CAM) and an accompanying smart card from your digital TV operator.

1. Insert the smart card into the CAM module according to the operator’s instructions.

2. Look on the CAM for the correct method of insertion into the TV.

3. While looking at the back of the TV, with the front of the CAM facing towards you, gently insert the CAM into the slot labeled COMMON INTERFACE.

4. Push the CAM in as far as it will go and leave it in the slot permanently.

When you switch on the TV, it may take a few minutes for the CAM to be activated. Once activated and subscription fees are paid, you can watch the scrambled channels.

Connect:

Connect a USB keyboard (USB-HID type) to one of the USB connections on your TV to enter text.

Configure:

To install the keyboard, switch on the TV and connect it. When the TV first detects the keyboard, you can select your keyboard layout and test it.

To change the keyboard layout setting later:

1. Select Settings > System > Keyboard.

2. Select USB Keyboard Settings and press OK to start the setup.

You can view photos or play music and videos from a connected USB flash drive or USB hard drive.

1. While the TV is on, insert the USB storage device into one of the USB connections.

2. The TV will detect the device and open a list of its content.

3. If the list does not appear automatically, press SOURCES and select USB.

To stop watching USB content, press EXIT or select another activity.

To safely remove the USB device:

1. Press HOME.

2. Select the USB drive under Dashboard > Notifications and press OK.

3. Select your device and press OK.

4. Select Eject and press OK.

5. Wait for the eject procedure to finish, then pull out the USB device.

To connect your TV to the internet wirelessly, you need a Wi-Fi router. Use a high-speed (broadband) connection.

1. Go to Settings > Network and Internet > Wi-Fi and ensure it is set to On.

2. In the list of found networks, select your wireless network.

3. If your network is hidden (SSID broadcast is off), select Add New Network and enter the name yourself.

4. Depending on your router, enter your encryption key (WPA2 or WPA3). If you have entered it before, you can select OK to connect immediately.

5. A message will be shown when the connection is successful.

Wireless network not found or distorted:

• Microwave ovens, DECT phones, or other Wi-Fi devices nearby might be causing interference.

• Ensure that the firewalls in your network allow access to the TV’s wireless connection.

• If the wireless network isn’t working properly, try a wired network installation.

Internet does not work:

• If the connection to the router is okay, check the router’s connection to the internet.

The PC and Internet connection are slow:

• Check your wireless router’s user manual for information on indoor range, transfer rate, and signal quality.

• Use a high-speed (broadband) internet connection for your router.

DHCP:

• If the connection fails, check the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) setting of your router. DHCP should be switched on.

To enjoy the full capabilities of your Philips Google TV, you can sign in to Google with your Google Account. If you did not sign in during the initial TV installation, you can do it later.

To sign in after the TV installation:

1. Select Settings > Account and sign-in and press OK.

2. Select Sign In and press OK.

3. Select Use your remote and press OK.

4. Using the on-screen keyboard, enter your email address and press OK.

5. Enter your password and press OK to sign in.

You can browse the internet on your TV, though most websites are not prepared for a TV screen.

To start the Internet browser:

1. Press HOME.

2. Select Your apps > WEB BROWSER and press OK.

3. Enter an Internet address and select to confirm.

4. To close the browser, press the Back key and confirm to leave on the message screen.

Streaming with AirPlay:

You can stream media from your Apple devices to the TV. Ensure your Apple device is on the same Wi-Fi network as the TV.

1. Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit.

2. Make sure AirPlay is turned On.

Adding TV to Apple HomeKit:

You can add your TV to HomeKit to control it via Apple devices.

1. Go to Settings > Channels and inputs > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit.

2. Select Set UP under the HomeKit section to generate a QR code on your TV.

3. On your Apple device, open the Home app, tap Add (+), and then scan the QR code on the TV.

4. Follow the instructions on your Apple device to join your TV to HomeKit.

The Quick Menu and Frequent Settings provide a fast way to access TV functions or setting menus.

To open the menu and an item:

1. Press the Quick Menu / MENU key to open the Quick Menu.

2. Press the left or right arrow keys to switch between the Quick Menu and Frequent Settings.

3. Select an item and press OK to open or start it.

4. Press the Back key to close the menu without starting anything.

You can also press OPTIONS to enable or disable the items shown in the list of Frequent Settings.

For easy picture adjustment, you can select a preset picture style.

Go to Settings > Display and sound > Picture > AI Picture style. Alternatively, press the DASHBOARD key on the remote control and select Picture > AI Picture style.

Preset styles include:

• Personal

• Crystal Clear (for daylight viewing)

• Home Cinema (for daily movie watching)

• ECO (most energy conscious)

• Filmmaker Mode

• Game

• Monitor

• Calman

When the TV receives an HDR or Dolby Vision signal, corresponding HDR or Dolby Vision picture styles will be available.

To restore the current picture style to its default settings, go to Settings > Display and sound > Picture > Restore picture style.

If the picture is not filling the whole screen, you can adjust it.

To select a basic setting:

1. Go to Settings > Display and sound > Screen > Picture format.

2. Select one of the following and press OK:

• Fill Screen: Automatically enlarges the picture to fill the screen with minimal distortion.

• Fit to Screen: Automatically zooms in to fill the screen without distortion. Black bars may be visible.

• Wide Screen: Automatically zooms the picture to 16:9 full screen.

• Original: Zooms the picture to fit the screen with its original aspect ratio.

To format the picture manually:

1. Go to Settings > Display and sound > Screen > Picture format > Advanced and press OK.

2. Use Shift, Zoom, and Stretch to adjust the picture as needed.

You can find these settings under Settings > Display and sound > Screen.

• Local image protection: Sets the level of protection when a local still image is displayed to prevent image sticking.

• Auto pixel shift: Switch on to shift the pixel position to reduce pixel stress. This helps protect the OLED screen from displaying a still image for too long.

• Clear residual image: If you encounter image retention on the TV, you can activate this function to clear it. Select the option and then Confirm. The TV will switch off to complete the process. This is a deep refreshing process and should only be used when residual image is seen on screen, even after the TV has been in standby for at least 8 hours.

For easy sound adjustment, you can select a preset sound style.

Go to Settings > Display and sound > Sound > Sound style.

The available styles are:

• AI mode: Intelligently switches the sound style based on the audio content.

• Original: Most neutral sound setting.

• Entertainment: Ideal for watching movies.

• Music: Ideal for listening to music.

• Spatial Music: Ideal for gaming.

• Dialogue: Ideal for speech.

• Personal: Access more in-depth sound settings. To customize, set the sound style to Personal, then go to Settings > Display and sound > Sound > Personal settings.

With DTS Play-Fi, you can connect to compatible speakers to stream audio wirelessly to other rooms. To set this up, you will need a DTS Play-Fi compatible device and the Philips Sound app on your mobile device.

Setup to connect a DTS Play-Fi compatible device:

1. Download and install the Philips Sound app on your phone or tablet.

2. Use the Philips Sound app to search for and set up your DTS Play-Fi compatible device on the same Wi-Fi network as your TV.

3. On your PHILIPS 65OLED850 TV, open the pre-installed DTS Play-Fi app and select Connect Speakers to search for compatible devices.

4. When the devices are successfully connected, you can select them from the device list and adjust the volume.

5. You can now stream audio from your TV to the connected DTS Play-Fi devices.

Room calibration allows the TV to determine the acoustics in your room and provide optimized sound quality from the TV speakers. Before starting, ensure your remote control is paired with the TV and the TV Audio out setting is set to TV speakers. Keep the room quiet for best results.

To start the room calibration:

1. Go to Settings > Display and sound > Sound > Room calibration.

2. Hold your remote control at your listening position and point it towards the TV.

3. Select Calibrate now or Calibrate again to start.

4. A test sound will be played and measured through your remote control. This will take several seconds.

5. Once calibrated, you can select Test to listen to the sound before and after. Select Apply to accept the new setting.

6. After applying, return to the Room calibration menu and select Apply calibration to tune the audio output from the TV speakers.

Go to Settings > Display and sound > Audio output to manage where the TV sound plays.

• Speakers: Set the TV to play sound on the TV speakers, a connected audio system, or other devices. You can select TV speakers, Wired headphones, Optical, HDMI sound system, or Play-Fi Wireless Home Theater.

• eARC: Set eARC mode to Automatic or Off.

• Digital out format: Set the audio out signal to fit the capabilities of your connected Home Theatre System. Options are Stereo (uncompressed), Multichannel, or Multichannel (bypass).

• Digital out levelling: Adjust the loudness level of the HDMI sound system.

• Digital out delay: If audio and video are not in sync, you can adjust the audio sync delay.

• Digital out offset: If you cannot set a delay on your Home Theatre System, you can set an offset on the TV to sync the sound.

Multi View allows two video sources to be displayed on the screen at the same time, either Side by Side or in Picture in Picture mode.

Activation and Deactivation:

Press the Quick Menu/MENU key, select Multi View to open the settings menu. To deactivate, select Exit Multi View from the top of the menu.

Multi View Settings:

In the settings menu, you can:

• Manage the video source for View 1 (Main view) and View 2 (Sub view). Sources can be Satellite channels, Antenna/Cable channels, or HDMI/USB inputs.

• Change the view mode between Side by Side and Picture in Picture.

• Enable/disable Dual sound to output audio from both sources.

• Adjust the sound balance when Dual sound is enabled.

You can change the Ambilight style to match your preference or content.

Go to Settings > Display & sound > Ambilight > Ambilight style.

You can choose between:

• AI Ambilight style: When enabled, the TV will automatically adjust the Ambilight styles for different use cases.

• Manual Selection: When AI Ambilight style is disabled, you can manually select a preset style, such as:

– Standard

– Sports

– Cinema

– Gaming

– Music

– Fixed colour

Ambilight Suite is an integrated control center for Ambilight features. To access it, press the Quick Menu / MENU key, select Ambilight Suite and press OK. Alternatively, navigate to it via the Settings menu.

Lounge mode:

This allows you to switch on Ambilight when the TV is in standby to light up your room. You can select a preset theme or customize colors, dynamic effects, brightness, and duration.

Sleep mode:

This simulates a sunset to help you unwind. At the end of the simulation, the TV automatically switches to standby. You can select a theme with Ambilight color and nature sounds, and adjust the color, dynamic effects, brightness, and duration.

Sunrise alarm:

This uses Ambilight, music, and weather information for a new wake-up experience. The TV wakes up at a selected time, with Ambilight fading in with color and music, then transitioning to a weather forecast. You can set the alarm time, repeat schedule, backdrop theme, music, and volume.

You can start an app from the Home screen.

To start an app:

1. Press HOME.

2. Move to the ‘Your apps’ row, select the app you want, and press OK.

3. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Apps > See all apps to select and open an app.

To stop an app, press the Back key repeatedly or press the EXIT key. If you stop an app and return to the Home menu, the app may still be running in the background. To completely stop an app or clear its cache, go to Settings > Apps.

Update from Internet (Recommended):

If your TV is connected to a high-speed internet connection, you may receive a message to update the software. You can also check manually.

1. Select Settings > System > About > System update > Internet (recommended) and press OK.

2. The TV will look for an update. If one is available, you can start the update.

3. The update can take several minutes. Do not press any keys on the TV or remote during the update.

Update from USB:

You will need a computer with internet and a USB flash drive (at least 2GB free space).

1. On the TV, insert the USB drive. Go to Settings > System > About > System update > USB and select Write to USB. This writes an identification file to the drive.

2. On your computer, insert the USB drive, locate and double-click the `update.htm` file, and click `Send ID`. Download the `.zip` file if new software is available.

3. Unzip the file and copy the `autorun.upg` file onto the root of the USB drive.

4. Insert the USB drive back into the TV. The update will start automatically.

If an app on your mobile device has Google Cast, you can cast your app’s content to your TV. Your mobile device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi home network as your TV. This functionality works only in Google TV Mode.

To cast an app to the TV screen:

1. On your smartphone or tablet, open an app that supports Google Cast.

2. Tap the Google Cast icon.

3. Select the TV you would like to cast to.

4. Press play on your smartphone or tablet. The selected content should start playing on your TV.

Set Code and Change Code:

The child lock code is used to lock or unlock channels or programs. To set a new code or change the existing one, go to Settings > System > Child lock > Set code / Change code. If you forget your PIN code, you can override it by using the code 8888 and entering a new one.

Lock for Programme:

You can set a minimum age to watch rated programmes (available in certain countries). Go to Settings > System > Child lock > Parental rating to set the desired age limit.

If your TV is running with low performance, such as unsynchronized video and audio or a slow app, rebooting the TV may improve performance. A reboot will remove unnecessary data and information from the memory.

Go to Settings > System > Restart.

Disconnect any external USB hard drive before rebooting. Wait for a few seconds, and the TV will restart automatically.

With Accessibility switched on, the TV is prepared for use by the deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or partially sighted people. Go to Settings > Accessibility.

• High contrast text: Turn on to make texts display with higher contrast for easier reading.

• Text to speech: Set to convert text into speech for blind or partially sighted people.

• Accessibility shortcut: Provides quick access to Accessibility settings.

More services like Captions, TalkBack, and Switch Access are provided by Google.

Position the Bluetooth® device within 5 meters of the TV and ensure the Bluetooth® setting on the TV is on.

To pair an accessory:

1. Switch on the Bluetooth® device and place it within range.

2. Go to Settings > Remote and accessories > Pair accessory.

3. Select Search and press OK. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device.

To connect or disconnect a paired device:

1. Go to Settings > Remote and accessories.

2. In the list, select a Bluetooth® device.

3. Select Connect or Disconnect.

To remove (unpair) a device:

1. Go to Settings > Remote and accessories.

2. In the list, select a Bluetooth® device.

3. Select Forget to remove the device. The device will be unpaired.

• Energy saving: Go to MENU > Eco settings > Energy saving. Select and confirm to apply Eco settings, which may reset some picture settings and reduce Ambilight brightness.

• Screen off: Go to MENU > Eco settings > Screen off. This turns off the TV screen to save energy. The screen will turn back on when you press any key (except AMBILIGHT, Volume +/-, and navigation keys).

• Switch off timer: Go to MENU > Eco settings > Switch off timer. This sets the TV to switch off automatically after a period of no user interaction. You should deactivate this if you use the TV as a monitor or with a digital receiver without using the TV’s remote control.

• No signal timer: Go to MENU > Eco settings > No signal timer. This sets the TV to switch off automatically after a set time of not receiving a signal from a TV or HDMI source.

When playing a video from a USB device, a control bar appears at the bottom of the screen with the following options:

• Progress bar

• Playback control bar:

– Jump to previous/next video

– Rewind/Fast forward

– Pause playback

• Mark as favourites

• Play all videos

• Subtitle: Switch subtitles On, Off, or On During Mute.

• Subtitle language: Select a Subtitle Language.

• Audio language: Select an audio language.

• Shuffle: Play files in a random order.

• Repeat: Play all videos in the folder once or continuously.

The Philips Smart TV app on your smartphone or tablet acts as a remote control, allowing you to switch channels and adjust the volume. The app is available for iOS and Android.

To get the app, you can search for it in your favorite app store or:

1. On your TV, go to Settings > Network and Internet > Remote app QR code and press OK.

2. A QR code will be presented on the TV screen.

3. Scan the QR code with your mobile device and follow the instructions to download and install the Philips Smart TV App.

When using the app, your mobile device and your PHILIPS 65OLED850 TV need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

The Game bar is an information and setting control center for when you are playing a game. It is available for HDMI sources when the Picture style is set to Game/HDR Game/Dolby Vision Game.

Activation:

When the TV automatically switches to Game mode, a message will appear. Press OK to activate the Game bar. You can also long-press the MENU key to enable/disable it when a game signal is detected.

Information Displayed:

• Frame rate: Current FPS (frames per second).

• Profile name: Current applied profile.

• HDMI information: Port, speed/mode, and HDCP version.

• Video source information: VRR type, resolution, bit depth, pixel format, SDR/HDR format, ALLM support, and Motion setting.

Game Tools:

The bar includes tools like Crosshair, Shadow enhancer, Colour filter, Center zoom, and Edge enhancer to improve your gaming experience.

Settings:

By selecting the setting icon on the left side of the bar, you can manage profiles, adjust the frame rate indicator, and access quick links for HDMI Ultra HD, picture, sound, and Ambilight settings.

To support the Netflix Spatial Audio feature on your PHILIPS 65OLED850 for certain Netflix content, please follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings > Display and sound > Audio output > Digital out format and set the option to Stereo (uncompressed).

2. Go to Settings > Display and sound > Sound > Sound style and set the style to Personal.

3. Go to Settings > Display and sound > Sound > Personal settings > Speaker virtualizer and select Off to turn off the Speaker virtualizer.

To use Alexa to control your TV, you need a Philips Smart TV that supports Alexa, an Amazon Echo device, a Google account, and a mobile device on the same Wi-Fi network.

Setup on TV:

1. Go to Settings > Network and Internet > TV control with Amazon Alexa to start the setup process.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions to accept the Privacy Policy, name your TV, and sign in to your Google account.

Setup in Alexa App:

3. On your mobile device, sign in with the same Google account in the Amazon Alexa companion app.

4. Enable the “Philips Smart TV Voice Control” skill.

5. Link your Google account and then discover devices.

Finalize on TV:

6. On the TV, select Enable or Disable for the TV switch-on setting.

7. At the end of the setup screen, select Done to start using Alexa.

You can run diagnostic tests to check the condition and configuration of your TV.

TV Diagnose:

This test checks the TV’s condition and clears the cache memory.

1. Select Quick Menu / MENU > ? Help > TV diagnose and press OK.

2. Select Start to run a series of tests on items like Remote control, Power, Picture, Sound, Network, etc.

3. When complete, you can view the status of each item.

Self-diagnose:

This helps you troubleshoot by checking the TV’s configurations.

1. Select Quick Menu / MENU > ? Help > Self-diagnose and press OK.

2. Select from the following items to check their configurations:

• Check the TV: Checks if picture, sound, and other settings are working.

• Check the network: Checks the network connection.

• Check the HDMI sound system: Verifies the sound connection with your HDMI sound system.

• Check the remote control: Verifies remote control functionality.

• View weak signal history: Displays a list of channels with weak signals.

• Optimise internal storage: Frees up space in the TV’s internal storage.

The TV does not switch on:

• Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet. Wait for one minute, then reconnect it.

• Make sure the power cable is securely connected.

TV does not respond to the remote control:

• The TV requires some time to start up. During this time, it will not respond to controls. This is normal.

• If it remains unresponsive, check if the remote is working using a mobile phone camera. Put the phone in camera mode and point the remote at the lens. If you press a key and see the infrared LED flicker through the camera, the remote is working and the TV needs to be checked. If you don’t see a flicker, the remote may be broken or its batteries are low.

The standby light keeps on blinking:

• Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes before reconnecting it.

No picture / distorted picture:

• Make sure the antenna is properly connected.

• Make sure the correct device is selected as the display source.

• Make sure the external device or source is properly connected.

Sound but no picture:

• Change to other video sources and then change back. Try restoring the picture style in Picture settings or performing a Factory reset in General settings.

Poor picture from a device:

• Make sure the device is connected properly and its output video setting is the highest possible resolution.

• Restore the picture style or change to other picture styles.

Picture settings change after a while:

• Make sure that Location is set to Home.

Picture does not fit the screen:

• Change to a different picture format. Change Picture format to Original.

If you experience no sound or poor sound quality:

• Make sure the sound settings are correctly set.

• Ensure all cables are properly connected.

• Make sure the volume is not muted or set to zero.

• Make sure the TV audio output is connected to the audio input on your Home Theatre System (HTS), and that sound is heard from the HTS speakers.

• Some devices may require you to manually enable HDMI audio output. If you still do not hear audio, try changing the device’s digital audio format to PCM (Pulse Code Modulation).

HDMI Problems:

• If the TV doesn’t recognize the HDMI device, switch the source from one device to another and back again.

• If picture and sound are distorted, connect the device to another HDMI port and reboot your source device. Also check if a different HDMI Ultra HD setting solves the problem.

• For HDMI EasyLink issues, ensure your devices are HDMI-CEC compatible.

• For HDMI eARC issues, ensure the cable is connected to HDMI 2 and that you are using an Ultra High-speed HDMI cable.

USB Problems:

• If photos, videos, and music from a USB device do not show, ensure the USB storage device is set to Mass Storage Class compliant and is compatible with the TV.

• For choppy playback of USB files, the transfer performance of the USB device may be too slow for the TV.

Change language in Google TV mode:

1. Press the DASHBOARD key on the remote to launch the Dashboard menu.

2. Select the settings icon and press OK.

3. Press the down arrow 6 times and press OK to enter the System menu.

4. Press the down arrow 3 times and press OK to enter the Language menu.

5. Select your language and press OK.

6. Press the Back key to close the menu.

Change language in Basic Mode:

1. Press the DASHBOARD key on the remote to launch the Dashboard menu.

2. Select the settings icon and press OK.

3. Press the down arrow 7 times and press OK to enter the System menu.

4. Press the down arrow 3 times and press OK to enter the Language menu.

5. Select your language and press OK.

6. Press the Back key to close the menu.
