To enjoy the benefits of your Smart TV, connect the PHILIPS 43PUS7200 to the Internet. Press the (Home) button on your remote control to get your Home screen. The Home screen is the centre of your TV, where you can decide what to watch by browsing entertainment options from apps.

The Home screen on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 is organized in rows and includes several features:

Highlights: Multiple tabs like Home, Channels, Apps, and Search let you discover movies and shows. The Channels tab offers free online content, and the Apps tab provides a collection of apps for various services like renting movies, reading newspapers, or watching on-demand TV.

Favourite Apps: The first row contains pre-installed and your favorite apps, such as Watch TV, Internet Browser, Media, and others.

YouTube and Netflix: This row shows your Recommended, Subscriptions, or Trending videos from YouTube and Netflix.

Accessing settings: You can access the All Settings menu via the icon at the top right corner.

TV Guide: Select TV Guide to open the guide for your installed TV channels.

Sources: Select SOURCES to view and switch between available sources connected to your TV.

You can find the TV product model number and serial number for your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 on the packaging label or on the type label located on the back or bottom of the TV.

You can use the Help function to diagnose and get more information about your PHILIPS 43PUS7200. To access it, select Quick Menu > Help. The available options are:

TV information: View the Model name, Serial number, Software version, and Operation hours of your TV.

How to: See instructions on how to install channels, sort channels, update TV software, connect external devices, and use Smart functions.

TV diagnose: Run a test to check the condition of your TV.

Self-diagnose: Check if the picture, sound, network, and other settings are working correctly.

Update software: Check for available software updates.

User manual: Read the user manual for TV information.

Troubleshooting: Find solutions for frequently asked questions.

Factory settings: Reset all settings to factory settings.

Reinstall TV: Reinstall and redo the complete TV installation.

To run the TV diagnose test:

1. Select Quick Menu > Help > TV diagnose and press OK.

2. Select Start to run a series of diagnostic tests on items like Power, Picture, Sound, Network, etc.

3. When the test is complete, you can view the status of the tested items. At the end of the test, the TV will clear its cache memory.

4. Select OK to close the result page.

To run the Self-diagnose test:

1. Select Quick Menu > Help > Self-diagnose and press OK.

2. Select an item to check its configuration, such as ‘Check the TV’ for picture and sound, ‘Check the network’ for connectivity, or ‘Check the remote control’ for functionality.

The remote for the PHILIPS 43PUS7200 features hidden keys to provide more control functions. To activate them, press the 123 key located in the middle of the remote.

When hidden key mode is turned on, the number keys 0 to 9 and media playback control keys will appear with a backlight and become functional. When hidden key mode is turned off by pressing the 123 key again, or if it turns off automatically, the remote will revert to its normal functions.

Top Buttons:

1. (Standby / On): To switch the TV on or back to Standby.

2. AMBILIGHT: To select one of the Ambilight styles (only on models that support this feature).

3. (SOURCES): To open or close the Sources menu.

4. (Quick Menu/MENU): To open the Quick Menu with typical TV functions.

5. Alexa: Press and hold to talk to Alexa or interrupt an Alexa response.

Middle Buttons:

1. TV GUIDE: To open or close the TV Guide.

2. OK key: To confirm a selection or setting. Opens the channel list while watching TV.

3. Arrow / navigation keys: To navigate up, down, left, or right.

4. OPTIONS: To open or close the options menu.

5. (Back): To switch back to the previous channel or menu.

6. Volume / Mute: Move up/down to adjust volume. Press the middle to mute/unmute.

7. 123 key: To turn on/off the hidden function keys.

8. INFO: To open or close program information.

9. Number keys: (Hidden keys) To select a channel directly.

10. SUBTITLE: To open the Subtitle page. Long press for Text/Teletext.

11. TV / EXIT: To switch back to watching TV or stop an interactive TV application.

Bottom Buttons:

1. Colour keys: For direct selection of options. The Blue key opens Help.

2. NETFLIX: To open the Netflix App.

3. Disney+: To launch the Disney+ App.

4. Eco / Green key: Press to invoke a reminder for the Eco settings menu; long press to open it directly.

5. Playback keys: (Hidden keys) Includes Play, Pause, Rewind, and Fast forward.

6. prime video: To launch the Amazon Prime Video App.

7. Channels: To launch the Titan Channels App.

If your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 does not react to a key press on the remote, the batteries may be empty. Follow these steps to replace them:

1. Slide the battery door on the back of the remote in the direction shown by the arrow.

2. Replace the old batteries with new LR03 Alkaline batteries. Ensure the + and – ends of the batteries line up correctly.

3. Reposition the battery door and slide it back until it clicks.

It is recommended to remove the batteries if you are not using the remote control for a long period.

To clean the remote control, use a soft damp cloth. Never use substances such as alcohol, chemicals, or household cleaners on the remote control. Also, never expose the remote control to water or liquids.

Placement Tips:

• Position the TV where light does not shine directly on the screen.

• The ideal viewing distance is 2 to 5 times its screen height.

• When seated, your eyes should be level with the center of the screen.

• Recommended distance from the wall is 7 to 10 cm when wall mounted, and 10 to 20 cm when using the stand.

Wall Mounting:

Wall mounting requires special skills and should only be performed by qualified personnel. The wall mount dimensions for the PHILIPS 43PUS7200 series are as follows:

Before you switch on the TV, ensure the power cable is plugged into the POWER connector on the back of the TV and into a wall socket.

Switch On:

Press the small joystick key on the bottom of the TV.

Switch to Standby:

Press the (Standby/On) button on the remote control. You can also press the small joystick key on the bottom of the TV. In standby mode, the TV is still connected to mains power but consumes very little energy.

Switch Off Completely:

To switch off the TV completely, disconnect the power plug from the wall socket. When disconnecting, always pull the plug, never the cord.

Antenna: Insert the antenna plug firmly into the Antenna socket at the back of the TV. This connection is for DVB-T and DVB-C signals.

Satellite: Attach the satellite F-type connector to the SAT connection at the back of the TV.

HDMI Device: An HDMI connection provides the best picture and sound quality. Use an Ultra High Speed certified HDMI cable no longer than 5m. Connect devices supporting HDR to any HDMI port. HDMI ports support HDCP copy protection.

HDMI ARC/eARC: Only HDMI 1 on the TV supports HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) and eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). This allows you to send audio from the TV to a Home Theatre System (HTS) through the same HDMI cable. Use an Ultra High-speed HDMI cable for eARC.

Digital Audio Out (Optical): This is a high-quality sound connection that can carry 5.1 audio channels. Use this if your HTS does not have an HDMI ARC connection.

Headphones: You can connect a set of headphones to the 3.5mm mini-jack connection on the side of the TV.

USB Storage Device: Insert a USB flash drive or USB Hard Drive into one of the USB connections on the TV while the TV is on to view photos or play music and videos.

Computer: Connect your computer to the TV using a high-quality HDMI cable to use the TV as a PC monitor.

To cast streaming content from your mobile device to your PHILIPS 43PUS7200:

1. Make sure your mobile device and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Launch a casting-enabled app on your mobile device and tap the cast icon.

3. Select PHILIPS_TV_(ModelName) of your TV to start the casting.

To watch scrambled premium channels, you need a CI+ module (CAM) and a smart card from your digital TV operator.

1. First, insert the smart card into the CAM module as per the operator’s instruction.

2. Look on the CAM for the correct method of insertion into the TV. Incorrect insertion can damage the CAM and the TV.

3. While looking at the back of the TV, with the front of the CAM facing towards you, gently insert the CAM into the COMMON INTERFACE slot.

4. Push the CAM in as far as it will go and leave it in the slot permanently. It may take a few minutes for the CAM to be activated.

You can connect a wireless device like a speaker or headphones to your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 via Bluetooth.

To pair a device:

1. Switch on the Bluetooth device and place it within 5 meters of the TV.

2. Select (Home) > Settings > Wireless & Networks.

3. Select Bluetooth > Search Bluetooth Device, and press OK.

4. Select Search and press OK. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device.

To select a paired device:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth > Bluetooth devices.

2. In the list, select the wireless device you want to use and press OK.

To remove a paired device:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth > Remove Bluetooth device.

2. In the list, select the wireless device you want to remove and press OK.

3. Select Disconnect or Un-pair and press OK to confirm.

To rename a device connected to your PHILIPS 43PUS7200:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > General settings > Edit input sources > Source.

2. Select one of the device icons.

3. Select Rename to open the on-screen keyboard.

4. Use the navigation keys to enter a new name.

5. Select Close when you have finished editing.

To search for and install channels on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200, go to (Home) > Settings > Channels > Antenna/Cable installation > Search for channels. You have several options:

Update channels: Select this to only add new digital channels without changing your existing list.

Quick reinstall: This will install all channels again using the default settings for your country.

Advanced channel reinstall: This performs a full re-installation and guides you through each step, such as selecting Antenna (DVB-T) or Cable (DVB-C), and choosing between digital and/or analogue channels.

Within the Advanced settings, you can adjust:

• Frequency scan: Choose ‘Quick’ for a fast scan using predefined settings, or ‘Full’ for a more thorough scan.

• Frequency step size: Adjust the frequency step for the scan.

• Free / Scrambled: Choose to scan for free channels only, or both free and scrambled (paid) channels if you have a CAM.

You can create a list of your favorite channels for easy access.

Create a Favourites List:

1. While watching a TV channel, press the Channel list button (or OK) to open the channel list.

2. Select a channel you want to add and press the ‘Mark as favourites’ option.

3. The channel will be marked with a heart icon.

4. When finished, press the (Back) button. The channels are added to the Favourites list.

Alternatively, you can go to TV / EXIT > OK > OPTIONS > Create favourites list.

Remove a Channel from the Favourites List:

In the favourites list, select the channel with the heart icon and press the ‘Unmark as favourite’ option to remove it.

Reorder Channels in the Favourites List:

1. While watching TV, press OK > OPTIONS > Select channel list.

2. Select your favourite list (e.g., Antenna favourite) and press OPTIONS.

3. Select Reorder channels, then select the channel you want to move and press OK.

4. Use the Navigation buttons to move the channel to a new location and press OK.

5. Once completed, select ‘Done’.

The TV Guide shows a list of current and scheduled TV programs for your channels.

Open the TV Guide: Press the TV GUIDE button on your remote. Press it again to close. The first time you open it, the TV will scan all channels for program information, which may take a few minutes.

Tune to a Programme:

• From the TV guide, you can use the arrow keys to highlight a program name and press OK to switch to that program (channel).

• Navigate to the right to view programs scheduled for later in the day.

• To see details of a selected program, press the INFO button.

Update TV Guide: To get the latest program information, press OPTIONS while in the TV Guide and select ‘Update TV guide’.

Change Day: Press the Channel up/down buttons to view the schedule for the next or previous days.

Search by Genre: Press OPTIONS and select ‘Search by genre’. Select a genre like movies or sports and press OK to see a list of matching programs.

You can view media from a connected USB flash drive or USB Hard Drive.

1. With the TV switched on, plug in your USB device to one of the USB connections.

2. Press the SOURCES button on your remote, then select USB and press OK.

3. You can now browse your files and folders on the USB device. Select a media type (Photos, Videos, or Music) to filter the content.

4. Select a file and press OK to view or play it.

During playback, a control bar will appear with options like play, pause, next/previous, shuffle, and repeat.

There are two main ways to access settings on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200:

Quick Menu and Frequent Settings:

Press the Quick Menu/MENU key on the remote control. This opens the Quick Menu. Press the left arrow to access Frequent settings. These menus provide quick access to common settings like Picture style, Sound style, Audio out, and more.

All Settings Menu:

Press the (Home) key on the remote to go to the Home screen. From there, select the settings icon at the top right corner to access the All Settings menu. This menu provides access to all available settings, categorized into sections like Picture, Sound, General settings, Wireless & networks, etc.

For easy picture adjustment on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200, you can select a preset Picture Style. To do this, go to (Home) > Settings > Picture > Picture style.

The available styles are:

• Personal: The preferences you set during the first start up.

• Crystal Clear: Ideal for daylight viewing.

• Home Cinema: Ideal for daily movie home entertainment.

• ECO: The most energy-conscious setting.

• Movie: Ideal for watching movies with the original studio effect.

• Game: Ideal for playing games (only available in HDMI and streaming apps).

• Monitor: Ideal for computer display with minimal processing.

For more detailed adjustments, you can navigate through the Picture settings menu to change individual settings like Contrast, Brightness, Colour, Sharpness, and more.

To adjust the sound on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200, you can select a preset Sound Style. Go to (Home) > Settings > Sound > Sound style (when IntelliSound is set to Preset).

The available sound styles are:

• Entertainment: Ideal for watching movies.

• Music: Ideal for listening to music.

• Dialogue: Ideal for speech.

• Original: Select for general TV watching.

For more advanced control, you can select ‘Custom’ in the IntelliSound engine settings and then adjust detailed settings like Dolby Atmos, Immersive level, Vocal boost, Bass enhancement, and Equaliser for each sound style.

To connect your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 to the internet, you can use a wireless or wired connection.

For a Wireless (Wi-Fi) Connection:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Wireless (Wi-Fi).

2. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will be shown. Select your network from the list.

3. Enter your network’s encryption key (password) if prompted.

4. Once connected, a message will be shown.

For a Wired (Ethernet) Connection:

1. Connect your router to the TV using a network cable (Ethernet cable).

2. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Wired.

3. The TV will search for the network connection, and a message will be shown when the connection is successful. Ensure DHCP is enabled on your router.

The PHILIPS 43PUS7200 includes Universal Access settings to assist users who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or partially sighted. To enable these features, first go to (Home) > Settings > Universal access > Universal access > On.

Once enabled, you can configure the following options:

• Hearing impaired: When switched on, the TV automatically switches to adapted audio and subtitles if broadcast by the channel.

• Audio description: When switched on, the TV will play a special audio commentary describing what is happening on screen, if available. You can also adjust the mixed volume, audio effects, and speech preference.

• Voice guidance: When switched on, a text-to-speech engine will read out on-screen text. You can adjust the speech rate and volume.

• Text magnification: Turn this on to magnify texts on the screen.

The Game bar on the PHILIPS 43PUS7200 is an integrated center for display and settings control while gaming. It is available for HDMI sources when the Picture style is set to Game/HDR Game.

Activation and Deactivation:

When the TV automatically switches to Game mode, a message will appear. Press OK to activate the Game bar. To deactivate it, press the (Back) button.

Gaming Information Displayed:

The bar shows key gaming information such as current FPS (frame rate), profile name, HDMI port info, video source resolution, HDR format, and VRR type.

Game Bar Settings:

Select the settings icon on the left side of the bar to access options. Here you can create custom profiles for different games, enable an FPS indicator, and get quick links to adjust HDMI Ultra HD, picture settings, and Ambilight style.

Game Tools:

The Game tools provide features to enhance your gaming experience, such as:

• Crosshair: Displays a dial point on the screen.

• Shadow enhancer: Adjusts the black level to make dark areas more visible.

• Colour filter: Adjusts the on-screen color.

Your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 supports Amazon Alexa voice control using its built-in Far-Field Microphone.

Setup for Alexa:

1. Ensure the Far-Field Microphone switch, located underneath the front panel of the TV, is turned on.

2. Press the (Home) key on the remote, go to the Home screen, and open the “Amazon Alexa” app.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your language, accept terms, and name your TV.

4. You will need to pair your Amazon account. You can do this by scanning the QR code on the TV screen with your mobile device and signing in to your Amazon account.

5. Complete the final steps in the Amazon Alexa app on your mobile device.

6. Select OK on the TV to complete the setup.

Once set up, you can say “Alexa” to wake up the service and use voice commands like “Alexa, turn on Living Room TV,” “Alexa, change channel to 5,” or “Alexa, volume up.”

To control your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 with Google Assistant, you will need a Google Home device (like a Google Home Mini), an internet connection for the TV, and a Google account.

Setup TV Control with Google Assistant:

1. On your TV, follow the on-screen instructions to accept the Privacy Policy for the feature.

2. Choose a name for your TV that Google Assistant can recognize.

3. Sign in to your Google account on the TV. If you don’t have one, you will need to create one.

4. On your mobile device, download and open the “Google Home” app from the app store.

5. In the Google Home app, select “Set up device,” then ‘Works with Google.’ Search for and select Philips Smart TV.

6. Sign in with the same Google account to link your TV and enable TV control on the Google Home app.

You can now use your Google Home device to control the TV with voice commands.

You can update the software on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 either from the internet or from a USB drive.

Update from Internet (Recommended):

1. Ensure your TV is connected to the internet.

2. Go to (Home) > Settings > Update software > Search for updates > Internet (Recommended).

3. If an update is found, follow the on-screen instructions. The TV will switch off and on again during the update process, which may take a few minutes. Do not press any buttons on the TV or remote during this time.

Update from USB:

1. On the TV, go to (Home) > Settings > Update software > Search for updates > USB, and press OK.

2. Insert a USB drive into the TV and select Start. An identification file will be written to the USB drive.

3. Insert the USB drive into a computer with an internet connection. Locate and double-click the `update.html` file on the USB, then click ‘Send ID’.

4. Download the new software (.zip file) if available. Unzip it and copy the `autorun.upg` file to the root of the USB drive.

5. Insert the USB drive back into the TV. The update will start automatically. Do not remove the USB or turn off the TV until the update is complete.

If your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 will not switch on, try the following steps:

• Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet. Wait for one minute, then reconnect it. Make sure the power cable is securely connected and try switching on again.

• Connect the TV to a different wall mains socket and try switching on.

• Disconnect all other connected devices from the TV and then try switching on.

• If the standby light on the TV is on but it does not respond to the remote, the TV may still be starting up.

If your PHILIPS 43PUS7200 switches off suddenly, the ‘Switch off timer’ setting might be enabled. This feature turns the TV off after 4 hours if no remote control signals are received. You can deactivate this setting.

• Check if the correct source/input is selected in the sources menu. Press the SOURCES button to select the correct input.

• Check if the external device or source is properly connected.

• If you have sound but no picture, try changing to other video sources and then back to the current one. Also, try restoring the picture style settings.

• Check if the sound settings of the TV are correct. Press the volume key or the mute key to ensure sound is not muted or turned down.

• If you are using a set-top box, check that its volume is not set to zero or muted.

• Be aware that HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) support can delay the time it takes for the TV to display content from an HDMI device.

• If the TV does not recognize the HDMI device and no picture is displayed, try switching the source to another device and then back again.

• Some older devices may not recognize an Ultra HD TV. If the picture or sound is distorted, try changing the HDMI Ultra HD setting for that port. You can find this in Help > User manual > General Settings > HDMI Ultra HD.

• If you experience intermittent sound disruptions, ensure the output settings from the HDMI device are correct.

• If HDMI EasyLink is not working, check that your HDMI devices are HDMI-CEC compatible.

• If HDMI eARC is not working, ensure the cable is connected to HDMI 1 and that you are using an Ultra High-speed HDMI cable.

If media files from a USB device do not show or play correctly on your PHILIPS 43PUS7200, check the following:

• Ensure the USB storage device is set to Mass Storage Class compliant, as described in its documentation.

• Check if the USB storage device is compatible with the TV.

• Verify that the audio and picture file formats are supported by the TV. You can find a list of supported formats in Help > User manual > Specifications > Multimedia.

• If playback of USB files is choppy, the transfer performance of the USB storage device may be too slow, which can cause poor playback.

If you are experiencing network issues with your PHILIPS 43PUS7200, try these troubleshooting steps:

• Wi-Fi network not found or distorted: Check if the firewalls in your network allow access to the TV’s wireless connection. If the wireless network is not working properly, try using a wired network installation instead.

• Internet does not work: If the connection to the router is OK, check the router’s connection to the Internet.

• Slow PC and Internet connection: Consult your wireless router’s user manual for information on indoor range and signal quality. Use a high-speed (broadband) Internet connection for your router.

• DHCP issues: If the connection fails, check the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) setting of your router. DHCP should be switched on.

To change the menu language back to your preferred language:

1. Press the (Home) button and select the Settings icon at the top right corner.

2. Press the down arrow 8 times and press OK.

3. Press OK again to enter the Language menu, select the first item (Menu language), and press OK.

4. Select your language and press OK.

Risk of Electric Shock or Fire:

• Never expose the TV or remote to rain or water. Do not place liquid containers near the TV.

• Never expose the TV or batteries to excessive heat, such as near candles or direct sunlight.

• To disconnect the TV from mains power, the power plug must be disconnected.

Risk of Injury or Damage:

• Two people are required to lift and carry a TV that weighs more than 25 kg (55 lbs).

• If mounting on a stand, use only the supplied stand and secure it tightly.

• When wall mounted, ensure the wall mount can safely bear the weight of the TV.

Stability Hazards:

• Always ensure the TV does not overhang the edge of supporting furniture.

• Always use cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer.

• Never place the TV in an unstable location.

• Never place items that might tempt children to climb, such as toys, on the TV or furniture.

To care for the screen of your PHILIPS 43PUS7200, follow these guidelines:

Cleaning:

• Unplug the TV before cleaning.

• Clean the TV and frame with a soft damp cloth and wipe gently.
