Please observe the following safety warnings when using your PANASONIC PT-VW350 projector:

General Warnings:

• THIS APPARATUS MUST BE EARTHED.

• To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.

• Remove the plug from the mains socket when the unit is not in use for a prolonged period.

• To prevent electric shock, do not remove the cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

• Do not remove the earthing pin on the mains plug. This apparatus uses a three-prong earthing type mains plug that fits only an earthing-type mains socket.

• TURN THE POWER OFF AND DISCONNECT THE POWER PLUG FROM THE WALL OUTLET BEFORE REPLACING THE LAMP UNIT.

Power & Connections:

• If foreign objects or water get inside, if the projector is dropped, or if you notice smoke or strange smells, disconnect the power plug immediately.

• During a thunderstorm, do not touch the projector or the cable.

• Do not damage the power cord. Do not place it near hot objects, bend it excessively, or place heavy objects on it.

• Insert the power plug completely into the wall outlet. Do not use damaged plugs or loose wall outlets.

• Clean the power plug regularly to prevent dust buildup.

• Do not handle the power plug with wet hands.

Installation & Use:

• Do not place the projector on soft materials like carpets, as it may overheat.

• Do not set up in humid, dusty, or oily smoke/steam environments.

• Do not cover the air intake/exhaust ports. Provide at least 1 m (40″) of space from the exhaust port and 50 cm (20″) from the intake port to any walls or objects.

• Do not place hands or other objects close to the air exhaust port, as heated air is emitted.

• Do not look at the light emitted from the lens while the projector is in use, as strong light can cause burns or loss of sight.

• Do not allow metal objects, flammable objects, or liquids to enter the projector.

Lamp and Battery Safety:

• Do not disassemble the lamp unit. If it breaks, it could cause injury.

• The lamp has high internal pressure. It can explode if struck or dropped. Before replacing, turn the power off and allow it to cool for at least 1 hour.

• If the battery fluid leaks, do not touch it with bare hands. If it contacts skin, rinse with clean water and seek medical advice. If it contacts eyes, rinse with clean water and seek medical advice immediately without rubbing.

Follow these quick steps to get your PANASONIC PT-VW350 projector running:

1. Set up your projector: Position the projector correctly in relation to the screen.

2. Connect with other devices: Connect your computer, Blu-ray player, or other video sources to the appropriate input terminals.

3. Connect the power cord: Securely plug the power cord into the projector and a wall outlet.

Cautions when transporting:

• Hold the projector securely by its bottom to avoid excessive vibration and impacts, which could damage internal parts.

• Do not transport the projector with the adjustable feet extended, as this may damage them.

Cautions when installing:

• Do not set up the projector outdoors. It is designed for indoor use only.

• Avoid locations with vibrations, corrosive gas, sharp temperature fluctuations, or near high-voltage power lines.

• The operating environment temperature should be between 0 °C (32 °F) and 40 °C (104 °F) at elevations below 1,400 m (4,593′).

• Do not tilt the projector body more than approximately ±40 degrees vertically or ±15 degrees horizontally.

• Do not stack projectors or block ventilation ports.

• When installing in a confined space, ensure there is a proper ventilation and/or air conditioning system to prevent heat accumulation.

• For ceiling installation, be sure to ask a specialized technician and use the specified optional ceiling mount bracket.

To install or remove the batteries in your PANASONIC PT-VW350 remote control, follow these steps:

Installing Batteries:

1. Open the cover by pressing the guide and lifting.

2. Insert two AAA/R03 batteries, making sure the (+) and (-) terminals are correctly aligned. Insert the negative (-) side first.

3. Close the cover.

Removing Batteries:

• Perform the steps in reverse order.

You can set up your PANASONIC PT-VW350 projector in four different ways depending on the location. To change the setting, navigate to the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [PROJECTION METHOD].

To adjust the image from your PANASONIC PT-VW350, follow these steps:

1. Adjust the projection angle: Install the projector on a flat surface parallel to the screen to ensure the image is rectangular. If the screen is tilted, use the adjustable feet to level the image. For keystone distortion, use the [KEYSTONE] function in the [POSITION] menu.

2. Adjust the zoom and focus:

• Rotate the zoom ring (at the back of the lens) to make the image larger or smaller to fit your screen.

• Rotate the focus ring (at the front of the lens) to make the image sharp and clear.

Note: It is recommended to let the projector run for at least 30 minutes before making final focus adjustments, as the lens is affected by heat. You may need to readjust the focus slightly after adjusting the zoom.

There are two ways to reset settings on your PANASONIC PT-VW350:

Resetting Individual Sub-Menu Items:

• While in any sub-menu, press the button on the remote control. This will restore the values in that specific sub-menu to their factory defaults.

Resetting All Settings:

• To reset almost all settings to their factory defaults simultaneously, navigate to the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu and select [INITIALIZE ALL]. Confirm your selection. The projector will reset and enter standby mode.

Note: The [INITIALIZE ALL] function does not reset [STANDBY MODE], [EMULATE], [FILTER COUNTER], and [NETWORK] settings.

Before cleaning, make sure to turn off the power and disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet.

Outer Case:

• Wipe off dirt and dust with a soft, dry cloth.

• For persistent dirt, soak a cloth with water, wring it thoroughly, and then wipe the case. Dry the projector with a dry cloth afterward.

• Do not use benzene, thinner, rubbing alcohol, or other solvents, as they can damage the casing.

Front Glass Surface of the Lens:

• Gently wipe off dirt and dust from the lens surface with a soft, clean cloth.

• Do not use excessive force, as the lens is fragile. Avoid using abrasive, moist, or oily cloths.

Replace the air filter unit (ET-RFV300) when it becomes clogged to prevent overheating. Always use an unused, new filter.

Removing the old air filter unit:

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Open the air filter cover on the side of the projector by pulling it in the direction of the arrow and removing it.

3. Hold the tab of the air filter unit and pull it straight out.

Attaching the new air filter unit:

1. Hold the new air filter unit with the tab in the up-left position. Insert the right side first, then press the tab side until it clicks into place.

2. Reinstall the air filter cover, pressing it firmly until it clicks shut.

Resetting the filter counter:

After replacing the filter, you must reset the filter counter:

1. Power on the projector.

The lamp unit (ET-LAV300) is a consumable component that needs periodic replacement.

When to Replace:

• The lamp indicator will light red when the lamp needs replacement.

• A “REPLACE LAMP” message will appear on the screen when the lamp runtime is over 4,800 hours.

• The estimated lamp life is 5,000 hours, but this can vary. It is recommended to have a replacement lamp ready.

Replacement Procedure:

WARNING: The lamp is extremely hot after use. Wait at least 1 hour for it to cool down before handling to avoid burns.

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 1 hour.

2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the single lamp cover fixing screw until it turns freely. Remove the lamp cover by pulling it in the direction of the arrow.

3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the three lamp unit fixing screws until they turn freely.

4. Hold the used lamp unit by its handles and gently pull it straight out of the projector.

5. Insert the new lamp unit in the correct direction. Securely tighten the three lamp unit fixing screws.

6. Re-attach the lamp cover and securely tighten the lamp cover fixing screw.

Note: The projector automatically resets the lamp runtime when a new lamp unit is installed.

If the indicators on your PANASONIC PT-VW350 light up or blink, it signals a problem. First, power off the projector correctly before taking remedial action.

Lamp Indicator ()

• Lighting in red: It is time to replace the lamp unit. The runtime has reached 5,000 hours.

• Blinking in red: A problem has been detected in the lamp or its power supply. This can happen if you turn the power on again immediately after turning it off. Wait for the projector to cool down, then try turning it on again. If the problem persists, turn off the projector, unplug it, and consult your dealer.

Warning Indicator ()

• Lighting in red: The internal temperature is high. Check if the air intake/exhaust ports are blocked, if the room temperature is too high, or if the air filter is dirty. Clean or replace the filter and ensure proper ventilation.

• Blinking in red (normal speed): The internal temperature is high while in standby. Allow the projector to cool.

• Blinking in red (slow speed): The projector has detected an abnormal condition and cannot be turned on. Unplug the AC power cord and contact your dealer for service.

If any indicator remains lit or blinking after taking these measures, ask your dealer for repair.

If the problem persists after checking these points, please consult your dealer.
