  3. Remove the screws (A) and the keyboard plate (B). Use the PH 1 (PH #1) screwdriver.
  4. Lift the keyboard from the screen side. Note that the back side of the keyboard is affixed a seals ©.
  5. Remove the screws (D) and disconnect the stack type connector (E). Use the PH 1 (PH #1) screwdriver.
  6. Connect the stack type connector of the other language-specific keyboard.
  7. Tighten the screws (H) firmly. Use the PH 1 (PH #1) screwdriver. Use 3 screws. Recommended tightening torque: 0.45 N•m ± 0.05 N•m (4.5 kgf•cm ± 0.5 kgf•cm)
  8. Remove the release paper (I).
  9. Insert the projection parts (J) of the keyboard into the (K) parts, and attach it while lowering.
  10. Attach the keyboard plate (L) and tighten the screws (M) firmly. Use the PH 1 (PH #1) screwdriver. Use 3 screws. Recommended tightening torque: 0.45 N•m ± 0.05 N•m (4.5 kgf•cm ± 0.5 kgf•cm)
  11. Insert the battery pack and connect the AC adaptor.

How do you create a recovery disc?

Preparation

  • Blank discs (refer to the screen for information about usable types of discs and required numbers of discs) or a USB storage device
  • For models without a DVD MULTI Drive Pack and Blu-ray Disc Drive Pack, prepare a commercially available optical drive if you are using DVD/BD media to create a recovery disc.
  • Connect the AC adaptor and do not remove it until the operation is complete.
  • Close all applications except for this utility.
  • Remove all peripherals (excluding the device that will be used to create the recovery disc).
  • Turn off the wireless function.

NOTES

  • When this computer is driven by USB Power Delivery, the recovery disc cannot be created. Connect the supplied AC adaptor.
  • If the recovery partition is deleted, you cannot create recovery disc(s).

When using a USB storage device to create a recovery disc:

  • Any previously existing data stored on the USB storage device will be deleted.
  • USB storage devices with capacities insufficient for creating a recovery disc cannot be used.
  • USB storage devices that are partitioned cannot be used.
  • USB storage devices that are recognized as SCSI (i.e., UASP devices) cannot be used.

IMPORTANT Do not perform the following operations until creating the recovery disc is complete:

  • Shut down or restart Windows.
  • Enter modern standby (sleep) or hibernation.
  • For models without a DVDMULTI Drive Pack and Blu-ray Disc Drive Pack, do not remove the commercially available optical drive or USB storage device being used for recovery disc creation.
  • If you interrupted creating a recovery disc, a message of failure may appear in step 10 screen below. In this case, restart the computer, and create a new recovery disc again.

To create a recovery disc:

  1. Sign in to Windows as an administrator.
  2. Connect the device being used to create the recovery disc to the unit.
    • For DVD/BD media:
      1. For models without a DVDMULTI Drive Pack and Blu-ray Disc Drive Pack, connect the commercially available optical drive to the USB Port.
      2. Set a disc into the optical disc drive or the commercially available optical drive.
    • For USB storage devices:
      1. Connect the USB storage device to the USB port.
  3. Click (Start) – [All apps] – (Panasonic PC Recovery Disc Creation Utility). If the “User Account Control” is displayed, click [Yes].
  4. Click [Next].
  5. Confirm on-screen information ([Select OS Image] and [Number of discs required]), and then click [Next].
  6. Select the drive to which the disc or USB storage device is connected, and click [Next].
  7. Click [Next].
  8. In the case of DVD/BD media, select the [Write Speed].
  9. Click [OK]. Creation of the recovery disc (i.e., writing) starts. Wait a moment for the process to complete.
  10. Finish creation of the recovery disc as follows:
  • For DVD/BD media:
    1. Remove the disc when “Recovery disc #1 complete.” appears, and label the disc to avoid losing it. Do not use sharp objects that may leave a mark.
    2. If the recovery disc spans multiple discs, insert the next disc.
    3. Click [OK].
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create all the recovery discs.
    5. Click [OK] on the “All recovery discs complete.” screen.
  • For USB storage devices:
    1. Click [OK] on the “All recovery discs complete.” screen.
    2. Perform “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media”, and remove the USB storage device.

NOTES

  • The disc created with this utility is only for this computer. You cannot use it for others.
  • Additional applications cannot be recovered even if you use a recovery disc created with this utility.
  • If you fail to create a recovery disc or an error message appears, try either of the following procedures:
    • Insert the disc or USB storage device correctly.
    • Check the disc or USB storage device condition.
    • Restart the computer and try to create a recovery disc again.
    • Contact Panasonic Technical Support.
