• Do not touch the sharp aluminum fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur.

• After long periods of use, make sure the installation rack is not damaged.

Use the PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE air conditioner within the following temperature ranges for optimal performance.

* DBT: Dry bulb temperature

* WBT: Wet bulb temperature

The multi air conditioner system of your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE saves space by letting you connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit.

• It is possible to operate the indoor units individually or simultaneously. The operation mode priority is given to the first unit that is turned on.

• During operation, heating and cooling mode cannot be activated at the same time for different indoor units. The power indicator will blink to indicate the indoor unit is on standby for a different operation mode.

Caution: PATROL and e-ion operations can be activated even when the air-conditioner is turned off. In this condition, once the e-ion indicator is ON, the unit will operate with AUTO fan speed and air swing. However, this operation cannot be activated or will be deactivated if another indoor unit is activating the heating mode.

You can use the Auto OFF/ON button on the indoor unit to operate your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE when the remote is unavailable.

The indicator lights on your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE provide information about its current status:

To operate your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE, use the remote control to select different modes and settings:

• TO TURN ON OR OFF THE UNIT: Press the OFF/ON button. Be aware of the OFF indication on the display to prevent accidental starting/stopping.

• TO SET TEMPERATURE: Press the TEMP buttons. The selection range is 16°C ~ 30°C. Operating within the recommended temperatures can save energy (HEAT: 20°C ~ 24°C; COOL: 26°C ~ 28°C).

• TO SELECT OPERATION MODE: Press the MODE button.

– AUTO mode: For your convenience. The unit selects the operation mode every 3 hours according to temperature setting, outdoor, and room temperature. The power indicator blinks during selection.

– HEAT mode: To enjoy warm air. The unit takes a while to warm up, and the power indicator blinks during this time.

– COOL mode: To enjoy cool air.

– DRY mode: To dehumidify the environment. The unit operates at low fan speed for a gentle cooling operation.

• TO SELECT FAN SPEED (5 OPTIONS): Press the FAN SPEED button. For AUTO, the indoor fan speed is automatically adjusted.

• TO ADJUST VERTICAL AIRFLOW DIRECTION (5 OPTIONS): Press the AIR SWING button. This keeps the room ventilated. If AUTO is set, the louvers swing up/down automatically. In heat mode, the air blows horizontally for a while, then starts to blow downwards.

Your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE comes with several special features to enhance your comfort:

• e-ion (TO ENJOY CLEAN & FRESH AIR): This feature generates negative ions to produce a fresh air effect and attract dust, which is then captured by the positively charged e-ion filters.

• PATROL (TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY): The patrol sensor detects air quality. When the air quality is unsatisfactory, the e-ion operation will start automatically.

• QUIET (TO ENJOY QUIET ENVIRONMENT): This operation reduces airflow noise.

• POWERFUL (TO ACHIEVE TEMPERATURE QUICKLY): Use this mode to quickly reach the desired temperature.

Usage Notes:

• PATROL, e-ion, QUIET, and POWERFUL can be activated in all modes and can be canceled by pressing the respective button again.

• MILD DRY COOLING can only be activated in COOL mode.

• PATROL and e-ion cannot be selected at the same time as QUIET or POWERFUL.

• PATROL and e-ion can be activated even when the unit is turned off. In this condition, fan speed and air swing cannot be adjusted.

To set your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE to turn ON or OFF at a preset time, follow these steps:

1. Press the ON or OFF button in the TIMER section to select ON or OFF timer.

2. Use the arrow buttons to set the desired time.

3. Press SET to confirm.

To cancel the ON or OFF timer, press the corresponding ON or OFF button, then press CANCEL.

Notes:

• When the ON Timer is set, the unit may start earlier (up to 35 minutes) before the actual set time to achieve the desired temperature on time.

• Timer operation is based on the clock set in the remote control and repeats daily once set.

• If the timer is canceled manually or due to a power failure, you can restore the previous setting by pressing SET once power is resumed.

You can customize several settings on your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE using the remote control:

• Automatic Patrol Start: To disable or restore the feature where Patrol starts automatically with the unit, press and hold the PATROL button for 5 seconds, then release.

• Indicator Brightness: To dim or restore the unit’s indicator brightness, press and hold the up arrow button (▲) under TEMP for 5 seconds.

• Temperature Unit (°C/°F): To switch the temperature display between °C and °F, press and hold the down arrow button (▼) under TEMP for approximately 10 seconds.

• Time Format (12/24-hour): To switch between 12-hour (am/pm) and 24-hour time display, press and hold the CLOCK button for approximately 5 seconds.

• Remote Control Reset: To restore the remote control’s default settings, press the RC RESET button.

Always switch off the power supply before cleaning. Do not touch the aluminum fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

Washing Instructions:

• Do not use benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Use only soap (approx. pH7) or neutral household detergent.

• Do not use water hotter than 40°C.

Front Panel:

1. Raise and pull to remove the front panel.

2. Wash it gently and dry it.

3. To close, press down both ends of the front panel to close it securely.

e-ion Filters:

• Clean the filters regularly.

• Wash/rinse the filters gently with water to avoid damage.

• Dry the filters thoroughly in the shade, away from fire or direct sunlight.

• Replace any damaged filter.

Active e-ion Generator:

• Clean with a dry cotton bud. It is recommended to clean the active e-ion generator every 6 months.

Indoor Unit:

• Wipe the unit gently with a soft, dry cloth.

For Seasonal Inspection After Extended Non-Use:

• Check the remote control batteries.

• Ensure there is no obstruction at the air inlet and air outlet vents.

• Use the Auto OFF/ON button on the unit to select Cooling/Heating operation. After 15 minutes, it is normal to have a temperature difference between the air inlet and outlet vents of: Cooling: ≥ 8°C, Heating: ≥ 14°C.

For Extended Non-Use:

• Activate Heat mode for 2-3 hours to remove moisture left in the internal parts thoroughly.

• Turn off the power supply.

• Remove the remote control batteries.

Turn off the power supply and contact an authorized dealer if you experience any of the following non-serviceable criteria with your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE:

• Abnormal noise during operation.

• Water/foreign particles have entered the remote control.

• Water leaks from the Indoor unit.

• The circuit breaker switches off frequently.

• The power cord becomes unnaturally warm.

• Switches or buttons are not functioning properly.

If your PANASONIC CU-3E18JBE stops and the timer indicator blinks, you can use the remote control to retrieve the error code by following these steps:

1. Press and hold the CHECK button in the TIMER section for 5 seconds.

2. Press the up or down arrow buttons until you hear a beep sound, then jot down the displayed error code.

3. Press the CHECK button again for 5 seconds to quit checking.

4. Turn the unit off and provide the error code to an authorized dealer.

Note: For certain errors, you may be able to restart the unit with limited operation, which will be indicated by 4 beeps when the operation starts.
