Please observe the following precautions for the remote control:

• Do not use rechargeable (Ni-Cd) batteries.

• Do not allow infants and small children to play with the remote control to prevent them from accidentally swallowing the batteries.

• Remove the batteries if the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time.

• New batteries of the same type must be inserted following the polarity stated to prevent malfunction of the remote control.

For the indoor unit, please adhere to these safety guidelines:

Prohibitions:

• Do not install, remove, and reinstall the unit by yourself; improper installation will cause leakage, electric shock, or fire. Please consult an authorized dealer or specialist for the installation work.

• Do not insert your fingers or other objects into the unit, as rotating parts may cause injury.

• Do not attempt to repair the unit by yourself.

Cautions:

• Do not install the unit in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

• Do not wash the unit with water, benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Do not use for other purposes such as preservation of food.

• Do not use any combustible equipment in front of the airflow outlet.

• Do not expose directly to cold air for a long period.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur.

• Aerate the room regularly.

For the power supply, please follow these safety rules:

Prohibitions:

• Do not share the same power outlet with other equipment.

• Do not modify power cords.

• Do not use extension cords.

• Do not operate with wet hands.

Compulsory Actions:

• Use the specified supply cord.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• This equipment must be earthed and is strongly recommended to be installed with an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) or Residual Current Device (RCD). Otherwise, it may cause electrical shock or fire in case of malfunction.

• In case of emergency or abnormal conditions (burnt smell, etc), turn off the power supply and consult an authorized dealer.

• Switch off the power supply before cleaning or servicing.

• Turn off the power supply if the unit is not used for a long period of time.

• This air conditioner is equipped with a built-in surge protective device. However, to further protect your air conditioner from being damaged by abnormally strong lightning activity, you may want to disconnect it from the power supply. Do not touch the air conditioner during lightning, as it may cause electric shock.

For the outdoor unit, observe the following precautions:

• Do not insert your fingers or other objects into the unit, as rotating parts may cause injury.

• Do not sit or step on the unit, as you may fall down accidentally.

• Do not touch the sharp aluminum fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur.

• After long periods of use, make sure the installation rack is not damaged.

Use the air conditioner under the following temperature ranges. *DBT: Dry bulb temperature, *WBT: Wet bulb temperature.

Single Split Outdoor Unit (CU-E7JKE, CU-E9JKE, CU-E12JKE, CU-E15JKE, CU-E15JKE-1)

NOTICE: This model is not suitable for 24 hours non-stopping operation in heating mode below -5°C. When the outdoor temperature is below -5°C and you use this model out of the above conditions, the outdoor unit might be frozen up and stop operation for protection control.

Multi Split Outdoor Unit

Multi air conditioner systems save space by letting you connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit.

• It is possible to operate the indoor units individually or simultaneously. The operation mode priority is given to the first unit that is turned on.

• During operation, heating and cooling mode cannot be activated at the same time for different indoor units. The power indicator blinks to indicate the indoor unit is standing by for a different operation mode.

Caution: PATROL and e-ion operations can be activated even when the air-conditioner is turned off. In this condition, once the e-ion indicator is ON, the unit will operate with AUTO fan speed and air swing. However, this operation cannot be activated or will be deactivated if another indoor unit is activating heating mode.

The Auto OFF/ON button is used when the remote control is misplaced or malfunctioning. Here are the actions for the button:

The indicator lights on the unit have the following meanings:

• PATROL SENSOR: Blue

• POWER: Green

• TIMER: Orange

• QUIET: Orange

• POWERFUL: Orange

• e-ion: Blue

• MILD DRY COOLING: Blue

TO TURN ON OR OFF THE UNIT

Press the OFF/ON button. Be aware of the OFF indication on the remote control display to prevent the unit from starting/stopping improperly.

TO SET TEMPERATURE

Press the TEMP buttons. The selection range is 16°C ~ 30°C. Operating within the recommended temperatures can save energy:

• HEAT mode: 20°C ~ 24°C.

• COOL mode: 26°C ~ 28°C.

• DRY mode: 1°C ~ 2°C lower than room temperature.

TO SELECT OPERATION MODE

Press the MODE button to cycle through the modes:

• AUTO mode: The unit selects the operation mode based on temperature settings, outdoor, and room temperature. The power indicator blinks during selection.

• HEAT mode: To enjoy warm air. The unit takes a while to warm up, and the power indicator blinks during this operation.

• COOL mode: To enjoy cool air.

• DRY mode: To dehumidify the environment. The unit operates at low fan speed.

TO SELECT FAN SPEED (5 OPTIONS)

Press the FAN SPEED button. For AUTO, the indoor fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the operation mode.

TO ADJUST VERTICAL AIRFLOW DIRECTION (5 OPTIONS)

Press the AIR SWING button. This keeps the room ventilated. If AUTO is set, the louvers swing up/down automatically. In heat mode, the air blows horizontally for a while, then starts to blow downwards.

TO ENJOY CLEAN & FRESH AIR (e-ion)

Press the e-ion button. This generates negative ions to produce a fresh air effect and attract dust, which is then captured by the positively charged e-ion filters.

TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY (PATROL)

Press the PATROL button. The patrol sensor detects air quality. When the air quality is unsatisfactory, the e-ion operation will start automatically.

TO IMPROVE HUMIDITY AND MOISTURE LEVEL (MILD DRY COOLING)

Press the MILD DRY COOLING button (For single Split System). This operation reduces air dryness. When vertical airflow is set to AUTO, it stops at a lower position to avoid cold air contact.

TO ENJOY QUIET ENVIRONMENT (QUIET)

Press the QUIET button. This operation reduces airflow noise.

TO ACHIEVE TEMPERATURE QUICKLY (POWERFUL)

Press the POWERFUL button.

Notes on function combinations:

• PATROL, e-ion, QUIET, and POWERFUL can be activated in all modes and can be cancelled by pressing the respective button again.

• MILD DRY COOLING can only be activated in COOL mode.

• PATROL, e-ion, and MILD DRY COOLING or QUIET and POWERFUL cannot be selected at the same time.

• PATROL and e-ion can be activated even when the unit is turned off. In this condition, fan speed and air swing cannot be adjusted.

To turn the unit ON or OFF at a preset time:

1. Press the ON or OFF button in the TIMER section to select the ON or OFF timer.

2. Use the arrow buttons to set the desired time.

3. Press the SET button to confirm.

To cancel the ON or OFF timer, press the corresponding ON or OFF button and then press CANCEL.

• When the ON Timer is set, the unit may start earlier (up to 35 minutes) before the actual set time to achieve the desired temperature on time.

• Timer operation is based on the clock set in the remote control and repeats daily once set.

• If the timer is cancelled manually or due to a power failure, you can restore the previous setting (once power is resumed) by pressing SET.

You can adjust several optional settings using the remote control:

• Patrol automatic start: Press and hold the PATROL button for 5 seconds, then release to disable or restore this setting. Patrol will then start automatically when the unit is switched on with the OFF/ON button.

• Indicator brightness: Press and hold the AIR SWING button for 5 seconds to dim or restore the unit’s indicator brightness.

• Temperature unit (°C or °F): Press and hold the down arrow in the TEMP section for approximately 10 seconds to show the temperature setting in °C or °F.

• Time format (12/24 hour): Press and hold the CLOCK button for approximately 5 seconds to show 12-hour (am/pm) or 24-hour time indication.

• Restore remote default setting: Press the RC RESET button with a pointed object.

First, switch off the power supply before cleaning. Do not touch the aluminum fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

• Do not use benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Use only soap (approx. pH7) or neutral household detergent.

• Do not use water hotter than 40°C.

FRONT PANEL

• Raise and pull to remove the front panel. Wash it gently and dry. Press down both ends of the panel to close it securely.

e-ion FILTERS

• Clean the filters regularly. Wash/rinse them gently with water. Dry them thoroughly in the shade, away from fire or direct sunlight. Replace any damaged filter.

INDOOR UNIT

• Wipe the unit gently with a soft, dry cloth.

ACTIVE e-ion GENERATOR

• Clean with a dry cotton bud. Cleaning is recommended every 6 months.

FOR SEASONAL INSPECTION AFTER EXTENDED NON-USE

• Check the remote control batteries.

• Check that there is no obstruction at the air inlet and air outlet vents.

• Use the Auto OFF/ON button to select Cooling/Heating operation. After 15 minutes of operation, it is normal to have the following temperature difference between air inlet and outlet vents: Cooling: ≥ 8°C, Heating: ≥ 14°C.

FOR EXTENDED NON-USE

• Activate Heat mode for 2-3 hours to remove moisture left in the internal parts thoroughly.

• Turn off the power supply.

• Remove the remote control batteries.

The following symptoms do not indicate a malfunction:

Use the remote control to retrieve the error code:

1. Press and hold the up arrow in the TIMER section for 5 seconds.

2. Press the up or down arrow until you hear a beep sound, then jot down the error code displayed.

3. Press the same up arrow button for 5 seconds to quit checking.

4. Turn the unit off and reveal the error code to an authorized dealer.

Note: For certain errors, you may restart the unit with limited operation, with 4 beeps occurring as operation starts.

1. Pull out the back cover of the remote control.

2. Insert AAA or R03 batteries. They can be used for approximately 1 year.

3. Close the cover.

4. Press CLOCK.

5. Set the time using the arrow buttons.

6. Press SET to confirm.
