The OWLSOT OWNV-10 is a head-mounted digital night vision device with the following characteristics:

• It can be used during both day and night.

• The optical magnification is 1x, and the digital magnification is 3x.

• For night vision, the device is set to black and white mode.

• It can observe a target at 200m in low illuminance, all black, and no light conditions using LED lighting.

• The power supply is a single 18650 large capacity rechargeable lithium battery.

• Working hours are approximately 3 hours when WiFi and infrared lights are turned on, and 5 hours when only WiFi is on.

• The device adopts a 1080P ultra-low illumination detector.

The OWLSOT OWNV-10 is a precision optoelectronic instrument designed for observing targets at night and can work in very low light. Please note the following:

• The device is equipped with infrared lighting, making it suitable for use in completely dark environments.

• When the auxiliary infrared lighting is on, its brightness can be adjusted according to the distance of the observed object.

• The device uses a low-illuminance detector. If the environment has some light source (like a street light or moonlight), it is not necessary to turn on the auxiliary light source. In such cases, you only need to adjust the focal length of the objective lens to get a clear observation.

The main components of the OWLSOT OWNV-10 are as follows:

Follow these steps to install the battery:

1. Unscrew the battery cover (component 1).

2. Take a usable 18650 battery with sufficient power.

3. Insert the negative electrode of the battery into the battery compartment.

4. Screw the battery cover back in place.

5. Press the power button (9). The internal display screen should light up, indicating correct installation.

If there is no display, confirm that the battery cover is screwed in properly and that the battery has sufficient power.

Precautions:

• The battery specifications must meet the requirements (18650).

• The battery needs to have sufficient power.

• Pay attention to the positive and negative directions of the battery when installing.

• Failure to screw the battery cover in place will cause the machine to work abnormally.

Turn On:

1. Remove the objective lens cover (4).

2. Click the power button.

3. Look through the eyepiece (6) to see the display inside the machine. When the screen lights up, the machine has entered the normal working state.

Shutdown:

No matter what state the machine is in, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to shut down the machine.

The icons on the display screen provide the following information:

1. WiFi status: Shows if WiFi is active.

2. Infrared light status: Shows if the IR light is on and its intensity level.

3. North Arrow: Indicates direction.

4. System time: Displays the current time.

5. Battery level: Shows the remaining battery charge.

To get the clearest view, follow these steps:

1. Remove the protective cover from the objective lens.

2. Aim the objective lens at the scene you wish to observe and look through the eyecup (6).

3. Adjust the diopter handwheel (5) to make the text icons on the screen appear as clear as possible.

4. Adjust the objective lens focusing handwheel (7) to make the observed scene itself as clear as possible.

The instrument will automatically fine-tune the display brightness based on the average brightness of the scene in the center of the screen. When ambient light is bright, it is recommended to turn off the infrared light to save battery power.

Most function settings are performed in the menu. To operate the menu:

• Open Menu: Long press the up button for 2-3 seconds, then release. The menu will appear.

• Close Menu: While the menu is displayed, long press the up button again for 2-3 seconds and release. The menu will disappear.

• Navigate: Use the up and down keys to move the selection cursor bar between menu items.

• Confirm Selection: When the cursor is on a desired menu item, press the ON key (power button) to confirm the selection.

If the scene is very dark and cannot be clearly observed, you can turn on the infrared (IR) light for auxiliary lighting.

1. Turn On IR: Press and hold the up button (9) for a long time. The “IR OFF” logo in the lower-left corner will change to “IR ON”.

2. Adjust Brightness: After turning the IR on, press the down button once. The logo will change to “IR 1”, indicating brightness level 1. Keep pressing the down key to cycle the brightness level between 0, 1, 2, and 3. Level 3 is the brightest.

3. Turn Off IR: Long press the up key again. The logo in the lower-left corner will change back to “IR OFF”, indicating the infrared light has been turned off.

Precautions: Do not block any objects in front of the infrared light. The infrared light consumes a lot of power, so please keep it off when not in use.

When the instrument is in observation mode, you can use the digital zoom.

• Press the up button once, and the screen will zoom in to 2 times.

• Each subsequent press of the up button will cycle the digital zoom between 1x, 2x, and 3x.

• The maximum digital zoom value is 3.

• The current digital magnification is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen.

When the device is in the observation state and the infrared light is turned off, you can change the display color. Press the down button to switch the display color between black and white and green.

You can manage various settings through the main menu:

• Screen Brightness: In the menu, select “Brightness”. Press the ON key to confirm. In the sub-menu, use the up/down keys to select a value from 1 to 9 (9 is the brightest) and press the ON key to set it.

• WiFi On/Off: In the menu, navigate to the “WiFi” item and press the ON button. In the sub-menu, select “on” or “off” and press the ON button to confirm.

• Date and Time: Select “Date/Time” in the menu. Use the ON button to move between items (year, month, day, etc.) and use the up/down keys to change the values.

• Automatic Shut-down: Select “Auto power off” in the menu. You can choose “Off” (disables auto shutdown), “3 minutes”, “5 minutes”, or “10 minutes”. The machine will automatically shut down if there is no operation within the selected time.

• Language: Select “Language Setting” in the menu to enter the language sub-menu and choose your preferred language.

• Restore Default Settings: Select “Default Settings” in the menu. In the sub-menu, select the “OK” option to restore the machine to its factory default settings.

1. Install the Mobile App:

• Android and Harmony OS: Download the “WIFI Camera Device” app from an application market or install the “WIFI Camera Device.apk” package.

• Apple IOS: Download the “Roadcam” APP from the App store.

2. Follow the Connection Steps:

• First, open WiFi in the OWLSOT OWNV-10’s menu. After opening, the device will display its WiFi account and password. The WiFi icon in the lower-left corner of the screen will turn green.

• On your mobile phone, connect to the product’s WiFi network. The default password is 12345678.

• Open the installed mobile app. In the interface, click the “Connect” button to transfer the real-time images from the device to your phone.

Note on taking photos/videos: After connecting, you can use the app to take photos and record videos. These files will be saved in the “wcd/media” path in your mobile phone’s file system. For the Apple IOS “Roadcam” app, a “Please insert a memory card” message may be displayed, and pictures and videos cannot be taken through the app.

• The night vision device should be stored in a soft bag.

• The operating environment should be between -5°C and 40°C, and the relative humidity should not exceed 80%.

• The device should be stored in a clean and dry place to avoid moisture, mold, heavy pressure, mechanical damage, humidity, and solar radiation.

• Try to avoid exposure to rain or fog to prevent falling and bumping.

• Cleaning: If you need to clean the optical surface of the objective lens, eyepiece, or laser illuminator, first blow off any small grit and dust. Then, wipe the surface with a soft cloth.

• Long-term Storage: If the night vision device is not used for a long time, please keep the battery charged frequently to prevent the rechargeable battery from failing.

• Troubleshooting: If the image on the display screen is bounced, green grid-lines appear, or the screen does not light up, it indicates that the battery voltage is too low and it needs to be charged in time.
