Phone (3a) Pro charges at 50W. It can reach 100% power in approximately 1 hour with a wired fast charge and a compatible fast charge adapter. Note that for environmental reasons, the package does not include a charger.

• Back: Tap the back button to return to the previous screen or reverse the last action.

• Home: Tap the home button to return to the home page of the launcher.

• App switcher: Tap the app switcher button to open the app switcher, allowing you to change to a recently opened app or free up memory by closing background apps.

• Back: Swipe inwards from the left or right edge of the screen.

• Home: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

• App switcher: Swipe up and hold from the bottom edge of the screen.

• Access settings: Long press an empty area to bring up Home settings, Widgets, and Customisation.

• Manage icons: Long press an app icon to show app shortcuts or rearrange its position. Drag one app icon onto another to create a folder.

• Customize folders: Long press a folder to access folder customization and change the folder layout.

• Open: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to pull up the App drawer.

• Add apps to home screen: Long press and drag an app icon from the drawer to the home screen.

• Hidden apps: Swipe right within the App Drawer to show hidden app icons.

• Open menu: Access the Widget menu via app shortcuts or by long pressing an empty area of the home screen.

• Add: Long press and drag any widget to the home screen.

• Edit/Resize: Long press a widget on the home screen to resize or edit it.

• Access: Pull down once from the status bar to access Quick Settings & the Notification Centre.

• Toggle features: Tap a Quick Settings tile to toggle its feature. Long press a tile for more detailed settings.

• Expanded view: Pull down a second time to access expanded Quick Settings. Swipe left/right for more tiles.

• Customize layout: In the expanded view, press the edit (pencil) icon and drag tiles to customize the layout.

Either drag down the Quick Settings panel and long press the first tile (top left), or open the Settings app and tap on “Network & Internet”.

Go to Network settings (Settings > Network & Internet), tap on the Wi-Fi menu item, turn on the Wi-Fi toggle, select the desired wireless network, and enter the password.

In the Network settings (Settings > Network & Internet), tap on “Hotspot & Tethering”, select your preferred method, and proceed to set it up. This can also be accessed via Quick Settings.

Either drag down the Quick Settings panel and long press the Bluetooth tile (second tile, top right), or open the Settings app and tap on “Connected devices”. Then, tap on “Pair new device” and select the target device to connect.

Launch the “Play Store”, log into a Google account, search for the desired app using the top search bar, and tap the blue “Install” button. The installed app will appear in the app drawer.

Open the app drawer, hold and drag the app you want to delete to the top right corner of the screen, and release it over the area marked “Uninstall”. Note: If you drag an app icon from the home screen to the “Remove” zone, it only removes the icon from the home screen, it does not uninstall the app.

The Phone (3a) Pro has a 5000mAh battery. To enable Battery Saver mode when the battery is low, either tap the “Battery Saver” tile in Quick Settings or press the Low Power notification that appears automatically when the battery falls below 20%.

The ideal usage temperature is between 32°F and 95°F (0°C to 35°C). Continuous use or charging in extreme temperatures can speed up battery wear. The phone has protection mechanisms and may restrict charging if temperatures go outside a prescribed range.

Fast charging increases chemical reaction rates, potentially accelerating damage. The phone uses a Battery Management System (BMS) to optimize charging by controlling rate, temperature, and strategies. It’s recommended to avoid keeping the phone in a high-power charging state for prolonged periods and to stop charging around 80% to minimize internal chemical reactions and potentially extend battery longevity.

Open the Settings app and tap on “Storage” to see an overview of storage consumption by category.

Open the Settings app, tap on “App”, then “All apps”. Select the app you want to manage. On its “More info” page, you will find buttons for clearing storage or clearing cache.

• Physical buttons: Press the volume up or down button on the side to adjust the volume for the most recent audio source and open the audio menu.

• Audio menu modes: In the audio menu, tap the top bell icon to cycle between “Ring”, “Vibrate”, and “Mute”.

• Detailed volume sliders: In the audio menu, tap the bottom three dots icon to open sliders for media, call, ring & notification, and alarm volumes.

• Quick Settings: Tap the volume tiles in Quick Settings to switch between “Ring”, “Vibrate”, and “Mute”.

Open the Settings app and go to “Lock screen & Security and privacy”. Enter the “Device unlock” page to set an unlocking PIN, record additional fingerprints, or record facial data. Note: A PIN must be set before fingerprint or face unlock can be used.

Open the Settings app and tap on “About Phone”. This section contains hardware information, phone number, etc. Press on the device name at the top to edit how Phone (3a) Pro appears on other devices.

The Essential Key is a physical button located below the power button on the right side of the Phone (3a) Pro. It works with the Essential Space app for screenshot and voice memo functions.

The Essential Key uses long press and double tap actions for different functions depending on the interface:

• Recording Function (Home/Lock Screen): Long press the key to start recording audio instantly. Audio is saved to Essential Space, which can extract key info, generate summaries, and transcribe to text.

• Screenshot (Other Interfaces): Long press the key to capture a quick screenshot (with haptic feedback).

• Voice Memo (Post-Screenshot): After taking a screenshot, continue holding the key and speak to add voice notes or ask questions about the content.

• View Records: Double tap the key to quickly open Essential Space and access recent recordings and screenshots.

• Intelligent Analysis (Requires Nothing Account Login): Content recorded via the Essential Key undergoes analysis, generating summaries and extracting info like location from Google Maps links. Login is required for this.

• Voice Commands for Organization: Use voice commands within voice memos like “Remind me to buy baby formula tomorrow afternoon” or “What mountain is this?” for task management and quick information.

The Glyph Interface consists of three individually controlled lighting segments on the back of the Phone (3a) Pro. Preloaded Nothing ringtones and notification sounds have unique, handcrafted Glyph patterns that light up in sync with audio and vibration.

• Access Settings: Find the Glyph Interface section in the Settings app, or long press the Glyphs toggle in Quick Settings.

• Adjust Brightness: Drag the brightness slider to control the maximum brightness of all Glyphs.

• Set Ringtones: Go to the Ringtones tab in Glyph settings. Choose to set a default ringtone or assign unique ringtones to individual contacts. Select from Nothing sounds (with handcrafted Glyphs) or My sounds (imported sounds with generated Glyphs).

• Add Custom Ringtones: In My sounds, press “Add new sounds” to browse and import audio files.

• Set Notification Sounds: Set similarly to ringtones, choosing between original Nothing sounds or imported sounds.

• Flip to Glyph: Place the phone screen face down to temporarily silence it and turn off vibration, while still getting visual Glyph notifications for important calls.

• Glyph timer: A pomodoro-like timer experience. Set the timer and place the phone face down; Glyphs show progress.

• Bedtime Schedule: Temporarily disable the Glyph Interface during set times on selected days.

• Glyph Composer: Create your own Glyph ringtones using Nothing’s sound packs.

• Essential Notifications: Long press an incoming notification banner and toggle the switch to set it as Essential. The Glyph Interface stays lit until the notification is read or dismissed.

• Glyph Progress: Shows an estimation of progress for notifications from enabled apps (e.g., ride-sharing, food delivery).

• Volume indicator: Uses the Glyph Interface to visually show the current volume level.

• Do not disturb interaction: DND mode temporarily disables the Glyph Interface by default (can be changed).

Long hold on an app icon in the launcher to show an expanded menu of app-specific shortcuts. You can also drag a shortcut from this menu onto the homescreen to create its own standalone icon.

• Max Icons: Long hold on an app icon on the homescreen and press the expand icon to enlarge it to four times its normal size.

• Big Folders: The same procedure can be applied to folders, allowing quick access to the first three apps inside without opening the folder first.

• Toggle: Open Quick Settings and tap the “Do not disturb” tile. This mutes non-whitelisted notifications/calls and hides unseen notifications.

• Whitelist People/Apps: Long hold the “Do not disturb” tile in Quick Settings to edit important people/apps that can bypass DND.

• Glyph Interaction: DND temporarily disables the Glyph Interface by default. To change this, long hold the DND tile in Quick Settings and turn off the “Mute Glyphs” toggle.

• Gaming: While gaming, use the game mode shortcut panel (left side) to quickly block incoming calls or notifications individually without enabling full DND mode.

Either short hold the power button or swipe up from the bottom right corner of the screen.

• Standard Screenshot: Simultaneously press the volume down and power button. The image saves to the screenshot album in Google Photos (access via Library tab).

• Expanded Screenshot: Take a normal screenshot, wait for the “Capture more” button to appear at the bottom, tap it, and drag the borders on the full page view to select the desired area of the scrollable interface.

• Three-Finger Gesture: Enable this in Settings > Special features > Gestures > Screenshot gesture. Then, swipe down with three fingers to take a screenshot.

• Using Essential Key: Long press the Essential Key on interfaces other than the home or lock screen.

• Editing: After taking a screenshot, tap the thumbnail that appears to crop, annotate, or make other changes, then press “Save”.

NFC (Near Field Communication) allows the Phone (3a) Pro to connect with other NFC devices by placing them close together. A common use is for virtual credit/debit card payments via Google Pay. It’s recommended to keep NFC on for convenience as standby usage is minimal. To toggle it, open Quick Settings and tap the “NFC” tile.

• Access Battery Info: Go to Settings > Battery > Battery information.

• Prioritize Wi-Fi: When the screen is on and Wi-Fi is available, connecting to Wi-Fi instead of mobile data can save battery.

• Turn off GPS: Disable GPS function when navigation is not needed.

• Turn off Bluetooth: Only turn on Bluetooth when required.

Press and hold the power button until the Nothing logo appears on the display.

During the setup wizard, you will have an option to copy data from an existing device. You can do this either via a Google account backup or by connecting the two devices with a cable.

You can set the language on the first page of the setup wizard. Alternatively, change it later in Settings > System > Languages and input.

Go to Settings > Location and toggle it on. Apps requiring location services will then request permission when you open them for the first time.

Find My Device is automatically activated when you log into a Google account. However, location services must be enabled for the device’s location to be accessible. Check settings in Settings > Google > Find My Device.

The phone uses Google’s default backup routine, typically running when connected to Wi-Fi and charging on standby for 2 hours. To initiate a backup immediately, go to Settings > Google > Backup and tap the “Turn on” button.

Long press on an empty space on the homescreen and select “Customisation” from the pop-up menu. By default, the phone uses Android’s Dynamic Colour feature to extract colours from the wallpaper, but you can specify colours here.

First, add the tile: Swipe down twice from the top to open expanded Quick Settings, press the edit (pencil) icon, and drag the Screen Recording tile up from the hidden tiles area.

To record: Swipe down to open Quick Settings, tap the Screen Recording tile, and confirm. Recording starts after a three-second countdown (indicated on the right side of the notification bar).

To stop: Swipe down to open the notification centre and tap “Stop” on the recording notification. The file is saved in Google Photos > Library > Movies.

Long press on an empty space on the home screen and select “Widget” in the pop-up menu. Find and select the Nothing X widget to add it.

Launch the camera app and tap on the “Video” option in the mode selection bar.

Go to Settings > Security and privacy > Device unlock. Choose your preferred unlocking method. You must set a pattern or PIN first before you can register fingerprints or use Face Unlock.

Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset). Be aware this will erase all data on your phone.

Insert the provided SIM card remover tool into the small hole next to the SIM tray, located on the bottom of the phone.

Open the unpaired Ear (2) case with the buds inside near the Phone (3a) Pro. The Fast Pair feature should launch automatically. Follow the on-screen setup. If Fast Pair doesn’t appear, go to Settings > Connected Devices > Pair new device to search for Nothing Ear (2). Refer to the Ear (2) manual for more details.

When the battery falls below 20%, a low battery notification appears, prompting you to turn on battery saver. To enable it manually, swipe down twice from the top to open expanded Quick Settings. If the Battery Saver tile isn’t visible, press the edit (pencil) icon and drag it from the hidden tiles. Tap the Battery Saver tile to toggle it on or off.

Hold the power button and volume up button simultaneously until the Nothing logo appears on the display.

Game mode activates automatically when a listed app is launched. To manage the list of games, go to Settings > Special features > Game Mode > App list. Apps listed as games on the Play Store are typically added by default.

A notification will appear when a new update is available. You can also manually check by going to Settings > About phone > Software info (the phone image). If an update is available, a red icon will appear next to the Nothing OS label.

Go to Settings > Lock screen > Privacy and choose the desired notification preview option.

Open the Phone app, tap the three-dots icon (top right), then navigate to Settings > Caller accounts > Additional settings and toggle on Call waiting.

Open the Phone app, tap the three-dots icon (top right), then navigate to Settings > Blocked numbers > Add a number. Enter the number to block incoming calls and texts from it.

First, add the tile: Swipe down twice from the top to open expanded Quick Settings, press the edit (pencil) icon, and drag the Screen Cast tile up from the hidden tiles area.

To cast: Swipe down to open Quick Settings, tap the Screen Cast tile, and select the target device (e.g., TV) on the same local network to connect.

Dark theme is enabled by default. To toggle it, swipe down to access Quick Settings, find the “Dark Theme” tile, and tap it to turn it on or off.

Open the Gallery app, navigate to the Albums tab on the bottom bar, and tap on “Recently deleted”. Items deleted within the last 30 days will be visible here for restoration.
