Now you are ready to enjoy cool, refreshing ice cream from your OLD FASHIONED SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM MAKER.™
How do I begin using the Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker™?
First, after washing, place the drum in the freezer 24 hours or overnight depending on the temperature in your freezer to get it to the proper (-15° to -20°) temperature for processing your ice cream.
Find a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. (Make sure the cord is away from any water source. If needed, it is acceptable to use an extension cord.)
Choose your desired recipe and prepare the mixture in advance, allowing it to chill in the refrigerator to achieve the desired temperature.
1. Plug in your unit in the OFF position.
2. Remove the drum from the freezer and place it in the OLD FASHIONED SOFTSERVE ICE CREAM MAKER.™ Make sure the drum is fitted correctly in the unit enabling the lid to close properly and mixing to proceed. (Note: textual references to images or page numbers have been adapted or noted as per instructions).
3. Place the mixing paddle into the drum. (Note: textual references to images or page numbers have been adapted or noted as per instructions).
4. Make sure the spout is connected to the unit by turning counter clockwise and locking into place. Make sure the spout is closed by lifting up the handle.
How do I operate the ice cream maker once the mixture is prepared and the unit is set up?
5. Place lid on the crown portion of the unit and snap into place with locking clip on front side. Place motor on unit properly seating in the motor rest and fitting with the mixing paddle stem. (Note: textual references to images or page numbers have been adapted or noted as per instructions).
6. Turn the motor unit ON. The paddle will begin to rotate. Using a container with a pour spout, pour in your previously prepared cream mixture through the opening in the front of the lid. (Note: textual references to images or page numbers have been adapted or noted as per instructions).
7. The entire mixing process will take approximately 20 to 25 minutes*. The unit should not be turned off during the processing session as the mixture will become quickly frozen and when turned on again, the paddle will not be able to rotate and complete the process.
NOTE: The ICM-562 motor will automatically shut off after 30 minutes or longer of continuous running, if the motor gets too hot. This is a safety feature. After the unit has cooled (around 15 minutes), you may restart and run again.
*When the desired consistency is reached, place a dessert cup or cone under the spout and press the spout handle to open the spout and to dispense the ice cream. The first drops may not be frozen. As you dispense the ice cream the flow should be thicker.
