If you smell gas, follow these safety steps immediately:

1. Do not try to light any appliance.

2. Do not touch any electrical switch or use any phone in your building.

3. Leave the building immediately.

4. Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.

5. If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

The heat input and orifice specifications for the 60 inch models are as follows:

Note: Ratings are for elevations up to 2,000 feet. For elevations above 2,000 feet, input ratings should be reduced 4 percent for each 1,000 feet above sea level.

Combustible objects must not be placed in front of the appliance. A minimum clear space of 3 feet is required in front of the appliance. High temperatures may start a fire. Avoid placing candles, electronics, and other heat-sensitive objects on the mantel or hearth as heat may damage these objects.

To prevent unintended operation during summer months or vacations, perform the following steps:

1. Remove batteries from the remote controls.

2. Turn off all wall controls.

3. Unplug the 6 volt adapter plug.

The following table provides recommended minimum “A” dimensions (taken from the top of the appliance opening to the bottom of the TV) for typical installations:

Additional guidelines include:

1. Maintain a 6 inch minimum clearance from the TV to the wall if the TV is on the wall.

2. Maintain a 28 inch minimum height from the top of the appliance opening to the top of the mantel area for recessed TVs.

3. If TV temperatures exceed the manufacturer’s maximum allowable limits, increase the “A” dimension or the 28 inch minimum height dimension.

During manufacturing, components are treated with oils and bonding agents. To cure these materials, follow this procedure:

1. Run the appliance continuously on high for three to four hours.

2. Turn the appliance off and allow it to cool completely.

3. Provide maximum ventilation by opening windows and doors to allow odors and smoke to dissipate. Smoke detectors may activate during this process. Any remaining odors after this period will be slight and will disappear with continued use.

1. This appliance is equipped with an intermittent pilot ignition (IPI) device which automatically lights the burner. Do not try to light it by hand.

2. Before lighting, smell around the appliance area for gas, including near the floor.

3. Wait five minutes to clear out any gas. If you smell gas, stop and follow the emergency procedures. If you do not smell gas, proceed to the next step.

4. To light the burner, turn the wall switch to ON, press the ON or FLAME button on the remote, or set the thermostat to the desired setting.

5. If the appliance does not light after three tries, call your service technician or gas supplier.

In the event of an emergency power outage, you can use the factory-installed battery backup:

1. Access the control cavity by lifting the barrier screen off and removing any logs, stone, or crushed glass media.

2. Remove the two screws securing the burner assembly, lift the burner, and place the engine supports against the lower front space at the bottom of the face.

3. Locate the battery tray and insert four AA cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

4. Turn the appliance on using the wall switch or remote (note: remote functionality, lights, and auxiliary functions may be limited during battery operation).

5. To preserve battery life, do not use the HI/LO flame or THERMOSTAT options.

6. Once power is restored, remove the batteries from the tray to return to normal AC operation.

The IFT2-ECM has a three-position selector switch:

OFF Position: The appliance will not respond to any commands from remotes or the mobile app. The unit should be in this position during installation, service, or to reset the system after a lock-out. If switched to OFF while operating, the system will shut down.

ON Position: The appliance will ignite and run continuously at the HIGH flame setting. No adjustment in flame height is possible. The system will automatically shut down the fireplace after 9 hours of continuous operation in this position.

REMOTE Position: This allows operation from the remote control or mobile app. The switch must be in this position to pair the module with a remote. The system will automatically shut down after 9 hours of continuous operation without a command.

If the remote fails and will not turn off the appliance, use one of the following methods:

1. Turn off the house circuit breaker assigned to the appliance.

2. Unplug the appliance from its electrical source (if accessible).

3. Turn the reset switch located on the front face of the unit to the OFF position.

Homeowners should perform the following tasks annually or seasonally:

Surrounds (Annually): Assess the condition of the screen and replace it if necessary. Inspect for scratches or dents and vacuum/dust all surfaces.

Remote Control (Seasonally): Verify operation, replace batteries as needed, and keep the remote out of reach of children. If the appliance is not used for an extended period, remove the batteries.

Metallic noise is caused by metal expanding and contracting as it heats up and cools down. This is similar to sounds produced by a furnace or heating duct. This noise is normal and does not affect the operation or longevity of the appliance; no action is necessary.

The status indicator LED on the control module will blink red and green to indicate specific errors:

If the remote is not transmitting, check the following:

1. Verify batteries are functional and installed correctly.

2. Check if the remote is in Child Lock mode; if so, disengage it.

3. Ensure you are pressing the buttons firmly for one to two seconds to ensure transmission to the module.
