• Bedridden (e.g., nursing home patient, stroke, chronic illness)
• A transplant patient (e.g., liver, heart, lung, kidney)
• This thermometer is not intended for pre-term babies or small-for-gestational age babies. This thermometer is not intended to interpret hypothermic temperatures. Do not allow children to take their temperatures unattended.
• Use of this thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your physician or pediatrician. It is for household use only.
• Clean the thermometer probe after each use.
• Do not use the thermometer on newborns for continuous temperature monitoring purposes.
• Do not take a measurement while or immediately after nursing a baby.
• Patients should not drink, eat, or be physically active before/while taking the measurement.

2. Aim at the forehead at a distance of 0-3cm. No skin contact is needed.
3. Press the Measure button again.
4. The thermometer will beep once the measurement is complete and display the temperature.
NOTE: The forehead measurement is an indicative reading. It can fluctuate up to 1 °F/0.5 °C from your actual body temperature. Be aware of factors influencing accuracy mentioned in ‘Temperature taking tips’ and ‘WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS’.
Tip: If the eyebrow area is covered with hair, sweat or dirt, clean the area beforehand.
Tip: Always check if the lens is clean.
Tip: Ensure the user and thermometer have been in the same room prior to measurement.
How do I take a room/object temperature?
1. Make sure the thermometer is powered off.
2. Press and hold the Mem button for 3 seconds. The thermometer will turn on and switch to room/object temperature mode.
3. Keep the thermometer about 1-3cm away from the object.
4. Press the Measure button.
5. The thermometer will beep once the measurement is complete and display the temperature.
What should I do after taking a measurement?
• Once the reading is completed, remove the thermometer away from the forehead and observe the temperature.
• After each measurement, you can enter the recall mode to check earlier readings.
• Do not hold the thermometer for a long time, as it is sensitive to ambient temperature.
• Clean the temperature probe with a soft cloth after each measurement and store it in a dry, well-ventilated place.
• Wait at least 10 seconds between each measurement.
• It is dangerous to make a self-diagnosis or self-treatment based on the measurement results. Consult a doctor for such purposes.

How do I turn off the thermometer?
How do I replace the batteries?
1. Slide the battery cover off along the marked direction.
2. Put two AAA batteries correctly into the compartment, observing polarity.
3. Slide the cover back on.
Caution: All memory records will be lost when batteries are uninstalled/reinstalled. Settings will reset to default. Re-apply settings if needed after replacing batteries.
Note: Remove the batteries if the thermometer will not be used for more than two months.
What are some tips for taking accurate temperatures?
1. Know the individual’s normal temperature when well by recording readings twice a day (early morning, late afternoon) and averaging them. Always take temperature in the same location.
2. Note that a child’s normal temperature can range from 97.0°F (36.11°C) to 99.9°F (37.7°C). This unit reads 0.9°F (0.5°C) lower than a rectal digital thermometer.
3. Avoid holding the thermometer too long before measurement, as this can warm up the device and lead to incorrect readings.
4. Ensure the patient and thermometer are in steady-state room conditions.
5. Before measurement, clear the forehead area of dirt, hair, or sweat. Wait 10 minutes after cleaning before taking the measurement.
6. Clean the sensor with an alcohol swab and wait 5 minutes before measuring another patient. Wiping the forehead with a warm/cool cloth can impact the reading; wait 10 minutes before measuring.
7. In the following situations, take 3-5 temperatures in the same location and use the highest reading:
• Newborn infants in the first 100 days.
• Children under three with a compromised immune system where fever presence/absence is critical.
• When learning to use the thermometer until consistent readings are obtained.
How should I care for and clean the thermometer?
• Use an alcohol swab or cotton swab moistened with 95% alcohol to clean the thermometer casing and the measuring probe.
• Ensure the alcohol has completely dried before taking a new measurement.
• Ensure no liquid enters the interior of the thermometer.
• Never use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners, or benzene.
• Never immerse the instrument in water or other cleaning liquids.
• Take care not to scratch the surface of the LCD screen.

Recommended separation distance: d=1.2 P (150kHz to 80MHz) d=1.2 P (80MHz to 800MHz) d=2.3 P (800MHz to 2.5GHz) Where P is the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer and d is the recommended separation distance in meters (m). Field strengths from fixed RF transmitters, as determined by an electromagnetic site survey (a), should be less than the compliance level in each frequency range (b). Interference may occur in the vicinity of equipment marked with the radiating symbol. |
| Radiated RF IEC 61000-4-3 | 3V/m 80kHz to 2.5GHz | 3V/m |
NOTE UT is the a.c. mains voltage prior to application of the test level.
NOTE 1 At 80MHz and 800MHz, the higher frequency range applies.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
(a) Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/cordless) telephones and land mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. To assess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be considered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the thermometer is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the thermometer should be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as reorienting or relocating the thermometer.
(b) Over the frequency range 150kHz to 80MHz, field strengths should be less than 3V/m.
What are the recommended separation distances between this thermometer and portable/mobile RF communication equipment?
| Rated maximum output power of transmitter (W) | Separation distance according to frequency of transmitter (m) | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| 150kHz to 80MHz d=1.2 P |
80MHz to 800MHz d=1.2 P |
800MHz to 2.5GHz d=2.3 P |
|
| 0.01 | 0.01 | 0.12 | 0.23 |
| 0.1 | 0.1 | 0.38 | 0.73 |
| 1 | 1 | 1.2 | 2.3 |
| 10 | 10 | 3.8 | 7.3 |
| 100 | 100 | 12 | 23 |
For transmitters not listed above, estimate distance (d) using the applicable equation, where P is the max output power in watts (W).
NOTE 1: At 80MHz and 800MHz, the separation distance for the higher frequency range applies.
NOTE 2: These guidelines may not apply in all situations due to absorption/reflection from structures, objects, and people.
