Where should I avoid using the CD changer?

The appliance should not be used near water – for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub or swimming pool, or in a wet basement.

How should I move the CD changer if it’s on a cart or stand?

An appliance and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the appliance and cart combination to overturn. Use only a cart or stand recommended by the manufacturer.

How can I ensure proper ventilation for the CD changer?

The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface that may block ventilation openings, or placed in a built-in installation like a bookcase or cabinet that may impede air flow through the ventilation openings. Allow a free space of at least 3 cm above the changer.

Where should the CD changer be placed in relation to heat sources?

The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Never position the changer directly on top of a high-power amplifier, as such an amplifier gives off a substantial amount of heat.

What type of power supply should the CD changer be connected to?

The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance. Check that the type plate on the rear of your changer indicates the correct supply voltage. If your mains supply voltage is different, consult your dealer or Service Organisation.

How should I handle the power cord?

Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords and plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.

How should I clean the CD changer?

The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the manufacturer.

A chamois leather slightly moistened with water is sufficient for cleaning the changer.

Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia or abrasives.

What should I do if I’m not using the CD changer for a long time?

The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a long period of time.

What precautions should I take regarding objects and liquids?

Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings. Do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.

When should the CD changer be serviced by qualified personnel?

The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:

A. The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or

B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has spilled into the appliance; or

C. The appliance has been exposed to rain; or

D. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; or

E. The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.

The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.

How should I position the CD changer?

Free standing:

– Always position the changer horizontally on a flat, firm surface.

– Allow a free space of at least 3 cm above the changer for cooling.

In an audio rack:

– The changer can be sited in any desired position.

Stacked:

– Site the changer preferably at the bottom or at the top.

– Never position the changer directly on top of a high-power amplifier due to heat.

How do I connect the Digital Output?

This output supplies digital signal and can therefore only be connected to an input which is suitable for this signal (e.g., COAXIAL DIGITAL IN on an amplifier or receiver). Use a lead with one cinch plug on either end. Never connect this socket to a non-digital input of an amplifier, such as AUX, CD, TAPE, PHONO etc!

How do I connect the Analog Output?

Use a stereo cinch cable. Insert the red plug into the ‘R’ socket on the changer and the other plug into the ‘L’ socket. Insert the two other plugs into the corresponding sockets of the CD or AUX input of your amplifier. You can also use the TUNER or TAPE IN connection, but never the PHONO input.
