How do I start and stop the MAC ALLISTER MLMP300HP46?

Starting the Engine

The primer (9) is located on the air filter case (10) and is used for starting a cold engine.

1. Press the primer (9) three to five times when the engine is cold. If the engine is already warm, you do not need to push the primer.

2. Stand behind the handle (1). The starting position should be behind the lever, not standing beside the deck.

3. Pull the brake bar (2) against the handle (1) and hold it in position with one hand.

4. Pull the recoil starter handle (21). WARNING! Never twist the starter cord around your hand. Allow the rope to return slowly and in a controlled manner each time it is pulled.

Stopping the Engine

Release the brake bar (2) to stop the engine and blade.

How do I adjust the cutting height and manage the grass catcher on the MAC ALLISTER MLMP300HP46?

Cutting Height Adjustment

Adjust the cutting height based on your lawn’s needs. For high grass, start with the maximum cutting height and make a second pass at a lower setting.

1. Pull the lever (15) towards the wheel (12).

2. Move the lever forward or backward to select the desired cutting height.

WARNING! Ensure the lever engages between two of the prongs. Switch the engine off and wait for the blade to stop completely before adjusting the cutting height.

Grass Catcher

Empty the grass catcher frequently; do not wait until it is completely full. A full grass catcher will reduce the performance of the product.

To empty the grass catcher:

1. Lift the rear deflector guard and pull the grass catcher off the rod.

2. Empty the grass clippings onto a compost heap.

3. Re-fit the grass catcher to the product.

WARNING! Never use your hands or feet to remove grass clippings from the discharge chute. Do not use the product without the grass catcher attached when collecting grass. Switch the engine off and wait for the blade to stop completely before removing the grass catcher.

What are the best practices for mowing with the MAC ALLISTER MLMP300HP46?

1. Ensure the lawn is clear of stones, sticks, wire, or other objects that could damage the product or engine.

2. Avoid cutting wet grass as it can stick to the underbody, prevent proper discharge, and cause you to slip.

3. For a healthy lawn, never cut off more than one-third of the total length of the grass.

4. Slowly push the product forward.

5. Mow in slightly overlapping rows. The most effective pattern is mowing in straight lines along one side, which keeps rows even and ensures the entire lawn is cut.

6. Circle around flower beds. When you reach a flower bed in the middle of the lawn, cut a row or two around its circumference.

7. Pay special attention when changing direction.

8. Empty the grass catcher regularly.

WARNING! Extensive vibration of the product during operation is an indication of damage! Switch the engine off. The product should be promptly inspected and repaired!

How do I clean my MAC ALLISTER MLMP300HP46?

Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure safe use and prolong the life of the product. Inspect the product before each use for worn and damaged parts.

WARNING! Always switch the product off, disconnect the spark plug connector and let the product cool down before performing inspection, maintenance and cleaning work! DO NOT touch a rotating blade.

General Cleaning

1. Clean the product with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap. Use a brush for areas that are hard to reach.

2. In particular, clean the air vents (8) after every use with a cloth and brush.

3. Remove stubborn dirt with high pressure air (max 3 bar).

4. Check for worn or damaged parts. Replace worn parts as necessary or contact an authorised service centre for repair before using the product again.

WARNING! Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive or other aggressive detergents or disinfectants to clean this product as they might be harmful to its surface.

How do I maintain the cutting device on the MAC ALLISTER MLMP300HP46?

WARNING! Wear protective gloves when working on the cutting device. Use proper tools like a wooden stick to remove debris; never use bare hands. Always use original spare parts for replacement. NOTE: We strongly recommend jacking the product up when performing inspection and work on the cutting device to prevent fuel and oil leakages.

1. Keep the underbody and cutting device (22) clean and free of debris.

2. Check all nuts and bolts periodically for tightness. After prolonged use, especially in sandy soil, the cutting device will become worn. This will reduce cutting efficiency and it should be replaced.

3. Keep the cutting device (22) sharp. Replace a worn or damaged cutting device or have it sharpened by a qualified specialist.

4. To replace the blade: Loosen the blade tension bolt (22e) anti-clockwise with a wrench and remove it along with the cone washer (22d), cutting device (22), blade adaptor (22c), and key (22b).

5. Replace with a new cutting device of the same type. Slide the key (22b) into the slot on the spindle (22a). Refit the blade adaptor (22c), locking the cone washer (22d), and blade tension bolt (22e). Tighten the bolt clockwise to 35 N m min, 40 N m max.

6. Lubricate the cutting device (22) after each use with light machine oil along the edge to prolong its life.

Replacement Schedule: Replace the cutting device after 50 hours of mowing or 2 years, whichever is sooner, regardless of condition. If the cutting device is cracked or damaged, you must immediately replace it with a new one.

The replacement cutting device must be identification no. ref. SMV 460206G. DO NOT attach any other type of cutting device.

How do I maintain other parts of the MAC ALLISTER MLMP300HP46?
