To ensure safe operation of your LG WDN1508WRP, please follow these technical safety precautions:

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Always use a new hose or hose-set supplied with the appliance. Reusing old hoses can cause a water leak and subsequent property damage.

• Ensure ventilation openings are not obstructed by a carpet.

• This appliance is intended for household use only.

• The inlet water pressure must be between 50 kPa and 800 kPa.

• Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches before washing.

• The appliance is not to be used if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.

The maximum capacity for dry clothes in your LG WDN1508WRP is:

• Wash: 15 kg

• Dry: 8 kg

The recommended maximum capacity for each specific washing programme may differ. For the best wash results, please refer to the Programme Table in the OPERATION chapter of your manual for more details.

Please adhere to the following safety guidelines when using the dryer:

• Do not dry unwashed items in the appliance.

• Items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil, vegetable oil, acetone, alcohol, petroleum, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the appliance.

• Never stop the appliance before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.

• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the appliance.

• Fabric softeners, or similar products, should be used as specified by the fabric softener instructions.

Installation Location:

• The appliance must be installed on firm flooring to minimize vibration. Concrete flooring is best.

• If installing on wooden floors (suspended floors), use rubber cups (at least 15 mm thick) under each foot, secured to at least two floor beams, to reduce vibration.

• If positioning next to a gas cooker or coal burning stove, place an insulation sheet (850 x 600 mm) covered with aluminum foil between the appliances.

• Ensure the location allows for easy access for service.

Clearance:

• Allow minimum clearances of at least 20 mm at the sides and 100 mm behind the appliance for hoses and airflow.

Electrical Connection:

• Do not use an extension cord or double adapter.

• The power outlet must be within 1 meter of either side of the appliance and must be an earthed socket.

• The power plug must be easily accessible after installation.

Ambient Temperature:

• Do not install in rooms where freezing temperatures may occur, as frozen hoses can burst.

To prevent severe vibration and breakage, you must remove the transit bolts before use.

1. After removing the carton and shipping material, lift the appliance off the foam base. Ensure the tub support comes off with the base.

2. Starting with the bottom two transit bolts, use the included spanner to fully loosen all transit bolts by turning them counterclockwise.

3. Remove the bolt assemblies by wiggling them slightly while pulling them out.

4. Install the hole caps (included in the accessory pack) into the holes left by the transit bolts.

NOTE: Save the transit bolts and retainers for future use if you need to transport the appliance again.

Proper levelling is crucial for quiet and reliable operation.

1. Position the appliance in its final location.

2. Check if the appliance is level by pushing down on the edges of the top plate diagonally. It should not move up and down.

3. If the floor is uneven, turn the levelling feet as required to raise or lower them. Do not insert pieces of wood or cardboard under the feet.

4. Ensure all four feet are stable and resting firmly on the floor.

5. Once the appliance is level, secure the levelling feet by turning the lock nuts anti-clockwise against the bottom of the appliance.

6. Check that all lock nuts are secured properly.

If you install the appliance on a slippery surface, you may use the included anti-slip sheets under the levelling feet to prevent movement.

Connecting the Water Supply Hose:

1. Check that the rubber seals are inside the hose connectors.

2. Screw the supply hose connector onto the water supply tap. Hand-tighten only.

3. Connect the other end of the hose to the water inlet valve on the back of the appliance. This model connects to the cold water supply only.

4. After connecting, turn on the water tap to flush out any foreign substances (dirt, sand) from the water lines into a bucket before finalizing the connection.

Installing the Drain Hose:

1. The drain hose should not be placed higher than 100 cm above the floor, as this may cause slow or no draining.

2. To secure the hose, use the supplied elbow bracket. Connect the bracket within 10 cm of the end of the drain hose.

3. Place the end of the hose into a standpipe or hook it over the side of a sink. Secure it with string if necessary.

4. Ensure the hose is inserted no more than 15 cm into the drain.

5. Make sure the hose is not kinked or trapped. If the drain hose is too long, do not force it back into the appliance, as this can cause abnormal noise.

Follow these steps to operate your washer and dryer:

1. Sort and Load: Sort clothes by fabric type, soil level, and color. Open the door and load items into the appliance. Ensure items are not overhanging the rubber door seal.

2. Add Detergent: Add the proper amount of detergent and, if desired, fabric softener to the correct compartments in the dispenser drawer.

3. Turn On: Press the Power button to turn the appliance on.

4. Choose Cycle: Turn the cycle selector knob to select the desired wash cycle.

5. Customize Settings (Optional): Adjust the soil level, temperature, rinse, and spin speed settings as needed.

6. Begin Cycle: Press the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle. The appliance will briefly agitate without water to measure the load’s weight.

7. End of Cycle: When the cycle is finished, a melody will sound. Immediately remove your clothing to reduce wrinkling.

The control panel consists of the following components:

• Power On/Off Button: Press to turn the washing machine on or off.

• Programme Knob: Turn this knob to select a wash programme based on the clothes type. A lamp will light up to indicate the selected programme.

• Start/Pause Button: Use this button to start or pause the wash programme.

• Extra Options and Functions: These buttons allow you to customize the programme.

– Customizing Buttons: Adjust water temperature, spin speed, and soil level.

– Remote Start: Enables remote control via the LG ThinQ app.

– Wi-Fi: Press and hold the TurboWash button for 3 seconds to connect the appliance to the LG ThinQ app.

– Child Lock: Press and hold the corresponding button for 3 seconds to lock the controls.

• Display: Shows the settings, estimated remaining time, options, and status messages. The display blinks while the load weight is being sensed.

Use the dispenser drawer to add cleaning products:

1. Open the dispenser drawer.

2. Add products to the appropriate compartments:

• Main wash detergent compartment (1): For main wash detergent, water softener, or stain remover.

• Pre-wash detergent compartment (2): For pre-wash detergent (if using this option).

• Liquid fabric softener compartment (3): For liquid fabric softener. Do not fill past the MAX line.

3. Gently close the dispenser drawer before starting the cycle.

Important Notes:

• Use detergent according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Adjust for water temperature, hardness, load size, and soil level.

• Do not let detergent harden in the drawer, as this can cause blockages.

• Do not pour fabric softener directly onto clothes in the drum.

• Do not leave fabric softener in the drawer for more than 1 day, as it may harden.

For a Combined Wash and Dry Function:

1. Prepare the clothes and load the drum. Note that the drying capacity (8 kg) is less than the washing capacity (15 kg). For a full wash load, you must remove half the clothes before starting the dry programme.

2. Press the Power button.

3. Select a wash programme.

4. Add detergent.

5. Press the Dry button repeatedly to select a dry option (e.g., Cupboard, Iron, Timed, Low Temp).

6. Press the Start/Pause button.

For a Dry-Only Function:

1. Prepare the clothes and load the drum.

2. Press the Power button.

3. Do not select a washing programme and do not add detergent.

4. Press the Dry button repeatedly to select a dry option.

5. Press the Start/Pause button.

The Child Lock feature disables the controls to prevent children from changing cycles or operating the appliance.

To Lock the Control Panel:

1. Turn on the power.

2. Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds.

3. A beeper will sound, and ‘CL’ will appear on the display.

Once set, all buttons are locked except the Power button. Turning the power off will not reset the function.

To Unlock the Control Panel:

1. Turn on the power.

2. Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds to deactivate the function.

1. Search for and install the “LG ThinQ” application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone.

2. Run the application and sign in with your existing account or create a new LG account.

3. Touch the add (+) button in the app to connect your appliance.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions in the application to complete the connection process.

Important Notes:

• To verify the connection, check that the Wi-Fi indicator on the control panel is lit.

• The appliance supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only.

• If the distance between the appliance and your router is too far, the signal may be weak, and connection could fail. Consider using a Wi-Fi repeater.

You can use Smart Diagnosis to troubleshoot issues using either the LG ThinQ app or an audible method.

Using LG ThinQ (Wi-Fi Diagnosis):

If you experience a problem with your Wi-Fi equipped appliance, it can transmit troubleshooting data to a smartphone.

1. Launch the LG ThinQ application on your smartphone.

2. Select the Smart Diagnosis feature in the menu.

3. Follow the instructions provided in the application.

Using Audible Diagnosis:

1. Press the Power button to turn on the appliance. Do not press any other buttons.

2. Place the mouthpiece of your smartphone close to the Power button (max 10 mm away).

3. Press and hold the Tub Clean button for 3 seconds or longer while holding the smartphone in place.

4. Keep the smartphone in place until the data transfer is complete. The time remaining for data transfer will be displayed.

5. After the data transfer is complete, the diagnosis will be displayed in the application.

Regular maintenance will extend the life of your appliance.

• After Every Wash: Wipe the door and the inside of the door seal to remove any moisture. Leave the door slightly open to allow the drum to dry.

• Exterior: Wipe off any spills immediately. Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior, then dry with a soft cloth.

• Drum (Tub Clean): Run the Tub Clean function once a month to reduce build-up of detergent and other residue. To do this, empty the drum, add anti-limescale powder to the main wash compartment, select the Tub Clean cycle, and press Start.

• Dispenser Drawer: Clean once or twice a month. Pull the drawer straight out while pressing the disengage button. Rinse the drawer and inserts with warm water to remove build-up. Clean the drawer opening with a small brush before reinserting.

• Water Inlet Filter: Clean every six months. Turn off the water tap, unscrew the inlet hose from the back of the machine, pull out the filter with pliers, and clean it with a medium bristle brush.

• Drain Pump Filter: Clean every six months. Open the cover cap on the bottom front of the appliance, pull out the drain tube and remove the plug to drain any remaining water (be careful, it may be hot). Then, unscrew the pump filter, remove any lint and objects, clean it, and screw it back in securely.

If your appliance does not operate, check the following potential causes:

• Appliance is unplugged: Make sure the power cord is plugged securely into a working outlet.

• Control panel powered off: The panel powers off after a period of inactivity. This is normal. Press the Power button to turn it on.

• Water supply is turned off: Turn the water supply tap completely on.

• Door is open: Close the door and make sure that nothing is caught under it, preventing it from closing completely.

• Circuit breaker/fuse is tripped/blown: Check your home’s circuit breakers or fuses.

• Controls not set properly: Make sure a programme is correctly set. Close the door and press the Start/Pause button.

• Start/Pause button not pressed: After setting a programme, you must press the Start/Pause button. The appliance will turn off if the button is not pressed within a certain time.

• Child Lock is activated: Deactivate the Child Lock option if necessary.

If not filling properly:

• Insufficient water supply: Make sure both hot and cold water taps are turned on all the way.

• Extremely low water pressure: Check another tap in the house to make sure household water pressure is adequate.

• Inlet hoses are kinked: Check that inlet hoses are not kinked or clogged.

• Inlet filter is clogged: Make sure the inlet filters on the fill valves are not clogged.

If not draining water:

• Kinked drain hose: Ensure that the drain hose is not kinked.

• Drain located too high: Make sure that the drain hose is no higher than 1 meter above the bottom of the appliance.

• Drain Pump Filter may be blocked: Clean the Drain filter.

The time shown on the display is an estimate and can change due to several factors:

• Unbalance is detected: The machine will attempt to rebalance the load, which adds time to the cycle. This is normal.

• Suds removing programme is on: If too much detergent is used, the machine will run a suds removal routine, extending the cycle time.

• The load is too small: A very small load can be difficult for the appliance to balance. Add more items to allow the appliance to balance the loads.

• Heavy articles mixed with lighter items: This makes it difficult to distribute the weight evenly for spinning. Try to wash articles of similar weight together.

If you are experiencing issues with drying, check the following:

• Check water supply tap: The water is used for auto-cleaning of the lint-filter on the drum during drying. Make sure the water supply tap is open.

• Check for proper draining: The machine must drain properly to extract adequate water before drying. Check that the drain filter is not clogged.

• Appliance is overloaded: Do not overload for drying. Check the load capacity for the selected programme.

• Spin speed is too low: A higher spin speed during the wash cycle removes more water, reducing dry time. Select the highest spin speed allowed for the wash programme.

• Ambient temperature is low: A very cold room can affect drying time. Make sure the temperature is within the allowable range.

If you have trouble connecting your appliance to the Wi-Fi network, check these common issues:

• The router frequency is not 2.4 GHz: Only a 2.4 GHz router frequency is supported. Set your wireless router to 2.4 GHz and connect the appliance.

• The distance between the appliance and the router is too far: If the distance is too great, the signal may be weak. Move the router closer to the appliance.

• The password for the Wi-Fi is incorrect: Find the Wi-Fi network connected to your smartphone, remove it, and then re-register your appliance on LG ThinQ with the correct password.

• Mobile data for your smartphone is turned on: Turn off the Mobile data on your smartphone and register the appliance using the Wi-Fi network.

• The wireless network name (SSID) is set incorrectly: The SSID should be a combination of English letters and numbers. Do not use special characters.
