Installation & Environment:

• Do not use this apparatus near water.

• Do not expose the TV to dripping or splashing and do not place objects filled with liquids on or over the apparatus.

• To prevent the spread of fire, keep candles or other items with open flames away from this product at all times.

Power:

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug.

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

• Make sure the power cord is connected securely to the TV and wall socket.

• Do not use a damaged or loosely fitting power cord.

• Do not connect too many devices to the same AC power outlet.

Usage:

• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

• Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

• Do not let your children climb or cling onto the TV. Otherwise, the TV may fall over, which may cause serious injury.

• Do not allow an impact shock, any objects to fall into the product, and do not drop anything onto the screen.

• Do not press strongly upon the panel with a hand or a sharp object such as a nail, pencil, or pen, or make a scratch on it.

Servicing:

• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way.

• Do not attempt to modify this product in any way without written authorization from LG Electronics.

To prevent the LG 55SK9000PUA from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation, please follow these guidelines:

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Make sure not to hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grille area.

• Use at least two people to move a large TV.

• When transporting the TV by hand, hold the TV as shown in the illustration in the manual.

• Do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn the TV on its side or tilt towards the left or right.

• Be careful not to damage the protruding buttons.

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage to the screen.

To set up your LG 55SK9000PUA on a table, follow these steps:

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

2. Attach the stand components to the TV. You will typically need to use the provided screws (M5 x L25 for the stand base and M4 x L12 for the stand body) to secure the parts.

3. Once the stand is securely attached, lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on the table.

4. Leave a minimum of 10 cm (4 inches) of space between the TV and the wall for proper ventilation.

5. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

To prevent the TV from being pulled forward and falling, you can secure it to a wall. This is a safety measure to prevent injury.

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with bolts to the wall. The location of the wall brackets should match the location of the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts on the TV and the wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope or cable. Ensure the rope is kept horizontal with the flat surface.

Note:

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain these accessories from your local dealer.

• Make sure that the screws are fastened tightly. If they are not fastened securely enough, the TV may tilt forward after being installed.

The VESA specifications and required hardware for wall mounting vary by the screen size of your LG TV model. Please consult the table below for your specific model.

Before mounting, remove the stand by performing the stand attachment steps in reverse. When using a wall mount, ensure it supports the VESA standard and is adequately secured to the wall.

You can connect various external devices like Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, PCs, and USB storage devices to your LG 55SK9000PUA.

Antenna/Cable:

• Connect your antenna, cable, or cable box to the ANTENNA/CABLE IN port. Make sure not to bend the copper wire of the RF cable.

HDMI:

• For the best picture and audio quality, connect the external device and the TV with an HDMI cable. Use the HDMI IN or HDMI IN/ARC ports.

• For optimal connection, HDMI cables and USB devices should have bezels less than 10 mm thick and 18 mm wide.

• It is recommended to use a certified High-Speed HDMI®/™ cable.

• To enable 4K @ 60 Hz with higher color depth, navigate to → (Settings) → Picture → Additional Settings → HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color and set it to ‘On’ for the corresponding HDMI port. Ensure your connected device also supports this feature.

USB:

• Connect USB storage devices to the USB IN port. If a USB cable or flash drive does not fit, use an extension cable that supports USB 2.0.

AV IN / OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT / LAN:

• Use the respective ports to connect devices requiring composite AV, optical audio, or a wired network connection.

General Tips:

• Complete all connections between devices before connecting the power cord to the power outlet to prevent damage.

• The external device connections shown in the manual may differ slightly from the actual ports on your TV.

• Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV ports.

You can operate basic TV functions using the single button located on the TV.

Basic Functions:

• Power On: Press the button once.

• Power Off: Press and hold the button.

• Menu Control: When the TV is on, press the button once to access the control menu.

• Menu Selection: While in the menu, press and hold the button to select an option.

Adjusting the Menu:

When you press the button while the TV is on, a control menu appears. You can then press the button repeatedly to cycle through the options:

• Power Off: Turns the power off.

• Input Source: Changes the input source.

• Saved Channels: Scrolls through the saved channels.

• Volume Level: Adjusts the volume level.

The Magic Remote allows you to control your TV with a pointer and voice commands. First, you must register (pair) it with your TV.

How to Register the Magic Remote:

1. Put batteries into the Magic Remote and turn the TV on.

2. Point the Magic Remote at your TV and press the Wheel (OK) button.

3. If the TV fails to register the remote, try again after turning the TV off and back on.

How to Deregister the Magic Remote:

Press the BACK and HOME buttons at the same time for five seconds to unpair the Magic Remote with your TV.

Key Functions:

• Pointer: Shake the remote to the left and right to make the pointer appear on the screen.

• Wheel (OK): Press the center of the wheel to select a menu or option. You can also scroll the wheel to change channels.

• Navigation Buttons (up/down/left/right): Press these to scroll through menus.

• Voice Recognition: Press and hold the voice button and speak your command. A network connection is required.

• HOME: Accesses the Home menu.

• Q. Settings: Accesses the Quick Settings.

• BACK: Returns to the previous screen.

• INPUT: Changes the input source.

• VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume.

• CH ^/v: Scrolls through saved channels.

Note: If the message “Magic remote battery is low. Please change the battery.” is displayed, replace the batteries.

If you cannot control the TV with the remote control, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Check if anything, such as tape, has been placed over the remote control receiver on the TV.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the TV and the remote control.

• Replace the batteries with new, fresh ones. Do not mix new batteries with old batteries.

If there is no image display and no sound is produced, please check the following:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is securely connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem with the wall outlet by connecting another product to it and seeing if it works.

If your TV turns off suddenly, there are a few potential causes:

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may have been interrupted.

• Check if the auto-off function is activated in the settings menu.

• If there is no input signal while the TV is on, the TV is designed to turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. This is normal operation.

The display on your LG 55SK9000PUA is an advanced product with millions of pixels. Certain display characteristics are normal and not a cause for concern:

• Flicker on Turn-on: If the TV feels cold to the touch, there may be a small flicker when it is turned on. This is normal and will disappear as the TV warms up.

• Minute Dot Defects: Some tiny red, green, or blue spots may be visible on the screen. These are deactivated pixels and are normal for this type of panel. They do not have an adverse effect on the TV’s performance and reliability.

• Image Sticking (Burn-in): Displaying a still image for a prolonged period (e.g., channel logos, video game HUDs, on-screen menus) may cause temporary image sticking. Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for an extended length of time.

• Avoid touching the LCD screen or holding your finger(s) against it for long periods, as this may produce some temporary distortion effects.

Certain sounds generated by your TV are part of its normal operation and do not indicate a problem.

• Cracking noise: A cracking noise that occurs when watching or turning off the TV is generated by plastic thermal contraction due to changes in temperature and humidity. This noise is common for products where thermal deformation is required.

• Electrical circuit humming/panel buzzing: A low-level noise is generated from a high-speed switching circuit, which supplies a large amount of current to operate the TV. The level of noise can vary depending upon the product. This generated sound does not affect the performance and reliability of the product.

To clean your TV properly and avoid damage, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the power cord before cleaning.

2. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.

3. Do not spray water or other liquids directly on the TV.

4. Be careful not to allow any liquid or foreign objects to enter the gap between the upper, left, or right side of the panel and the guide panel.

5. If using a damp cloth, make sure to wring any excess water or cleaner from it.

6. Do not clean your TV with chemicals including glass cleaner, any type of air freshener, insecticide, lubricants, wax (car, industrial), abrasive, thinner, benzene, alcohol, etc. These can damage the product and/or its panel.
