Installation and Environment:

• Do not use this apparatus near water.

• Clean only with a dry cloth.

• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

• Do not expose this product to rain or moisture.

• Do not touch the TV with wet hands. Do not install this product near flammable objects such as gasoline or candles, or expose the TV to direct air conditioning.

• Do not expose to dripping or splashing and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, cups, etc. on or over the apparatus (e.g. on shelves above the unit).

• Install your TV where there is proper ventilation. Do not install in a confined space such as a bookcase. Do not cover the product with cloth or other materials while plugged in. Do not install in excessively dusty places.

• Keep the product away from direct sunlight.

Power and Electrical Safety:

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement.

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched. Pay particular attention to plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

• It is recommended that the TV be placed upon a dedicated circuit. Do not connect too many appliances to the same AC power outlet.

• Do not overload wall outlets. Periodically examine the power cord for damage or deterioration.

• Be sure to grasp the plug when unplugging the power cord. Do not pull on the power cord to unplug the TV.

• Never touch this apparatus or antenna during a thunder or lightning storm.

• When mounting a TV on the wall, make sure not to install the TV by hanging the power and signal cables on the back of the TV.

• Do not stick metal objects or any other conductive material into the power cord. Do not touch the end of the power cord while it is plugged in.

• Ensure that you connect the earth ground wire to prevent possible electric shock (for models with a three-prong grounded AC plug).

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Usage and Handling:

• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

• Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. Use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

• Do not allow an impact shock or any objects to fall into the product, and do not drop anything onto the screen.

• Keep the packing anti-moisture material or vinyl packing out of the reach of children.

• Do not press strongly upon the panel with your hand or a sharp object such as a nail, pencil or pen, or make a scratch on it.

Servicing:

• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way.

• Do not attempt to modify this product in any way without written authorization from LG Electronics.

To prevent “image burn” or “burn-in” on your LG 42LM6200, follow these guidelines:

• If a fixed image is displayed on the screen for a long period, it can become imprinted and cause a permanent disfigurement. This is known as “image burn” or “burn-in” and is not covered by the warranty.

• Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a long period (2 or more hours for LCD TVs).

• If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long period, image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen.

Viewing Environment

• Viewing Time: When watching 3D content, take a 5 to 15-minute break every hour. Watching for a long period may cause headaches, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

• Viewing Distance: Maintain a distance of at least twice the screen diagonal length when watching 3D content. If you feel discomfort, move further away from the TV.

Viewing Age

• Infants/Children: Viewing 3D content for children under the age of 5 is prohibited. Children under 10 may overreact and become excited; special monitoring and attention are required.

• Teenagers: Teenagers under 19 may be stimulated by light from 3D videos. Advise them not to watch 3D videos for a long time when they are tired.

• Elderly: The elderly may perceive less of a 3D effect. Do not sit closer to the TV than the recommended distance.

Health Considerations

• Some users may experience a seizure or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or patterns from 3D content.

• Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

• 3D content is not recommended for those who suffer from stereo blindness or stereo anomaly.

• If you have strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism, you may experience fatigue. It is advised to take frequent breaks.

• If your eyesight varies between your right and left eye, revise your eyesight prior to watching 3D content.

Symptoms Requiring Discontinuation

• Do not watch 3D content when you feel fatigued from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking.

• If you experience symptoms like headache, eyeball pain, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, blurriness, discomfort, double image, or visual inconvenience, stop watching 3D content and rest until the symptom subsides. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

• Make sure to use LG 3D glasses. Otherwise, you may not be able to view 3D videos properly.

• Do not use 3D glasses instead of your normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

• Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

• Do not keep your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures, as it will cause deformation.

• The 3D glasses are fragile and can be easily scratched. Always use a soft, clean cloth when wiping the lenses. Do not scratch the lenses with sharp objects or clean/wipe them with chemicals.

1. Open the package and make sure all the accessories are included.

2. Attach the stand to the TV set.

3. Connect an external device to the TV set.

4. Make sure the network connection is available. You can use the TV network functions only when the network connection is made.

The LG 42LM6200 series has touch-sensitive buttons on the frame. The main parts are:

• Screen

• Speakers

• Remote control and intelligent sensors: The intelligent sensor adjusts the image quality and brightness based on the surrounding environment.

• Power indicator

• Touch buttons: All buttons are touch-sensitive and can be operated with a simple touch of your finger.

To prevent the TV from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, follow these guidelines:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• When transporting the TV by hand, hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright during transport; never turn the TV on its side or tilt it.

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

2. Assemble the Stand Body and the Stand Base.

3. Attach the assembled stand to the TV using the provided screws (4 EA, M4 x 20).

4. Tighten the screws firmly to prevent the TV from tilting forward.

Mounting on a Table

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (4 inches) minimum space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

Adjusting the Angle

You can swivel the TV 10±2 degrees to the left or right to adjust the angle to suit your view. When adjusting, watch out for your fingers to prevent them from being pinched.

Securing the TV to a Table (Depending on model)

To prevent the TV from tilting forward, damage, and potential injury:

1. Connect the Desk-mount Cables to the Stand Base using the Bracket Screws.

2. Fix the Desk-mount Cables to the table using the Desk-mount Screws.

3. Once the TV is fixed, move the table close to the wall.

LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer. Use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard.

General Steps for Securing to a Wall (Optional)

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are bolts already in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure the rope is horizontal with the flat surface.

VESA Wall Mount Specifications

CAUTION:

• Disconnect the power first before moving or installing the TV.

• Use an authorized LG wall mount. Do not over-tighten screws, as this may cause damage and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages from misuse or improper accessories are not covered by the warranty.

1. Gather and bind the cables with the cable holder provided.

2. Fix the cable management clip firmly to the TV.

CAUTION: Do not move the TV by holding the cable holder, as it may break and cause injuries or damage to the TV.

Connect an antenna, cable, or cable box to watch TV by connecting the coaxial cable (75Ω) to the ANTENNA/CABLE IN port on the back of the TV. Make sure not to bend the copper wire of the RF cable. Complete all connections between devices before connecting the power cord to the power outlet.

HDMI is the best way to connect a device as it transmits digital video and audio signals. Connect the external device (such as a Blu-Ray player, HD Cable Box, etc.) and the TV with an HDMI cable. You can choose any HDMI input port to connect to. It is recommended to use the latest High Speed HDMI™ Cable.

ARC (Audio Return Channel)

• ARC allows digital audio to be sent to a compatible audio device through the same high-speed HDMI cable, without needing a separate optical audio cable.

• ARC is only supported on the HDMI IN 1 (ARC) port. An external audio device that supports ARC should be connected to this port if you wish to use ARC.

It is recommended to use the HDMI connection for the best image quality. You can choose one of the following methods:

Method A: HDMI Connection

Connect your PC’s HDMI output to any HDMI input port on the TV using an HDMI cable. It is recommended to connect to HDMI IN 4.

Method B: DVI to HDMI Connection

1. Connect your PC’s DVI output to the HDMI IN 4 (PC) port on the TV using a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

2. Connect your PC’s audio output to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV using an audio cable.

Method C: RGB Connection

1. Connect your PC’s RGB OUT (VGA) port to the RGB (PC) port on the TV using an RGB cable.

2. Connect your PC’s audio output to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV using an audio cable.

You can use an optional external audio system instead of the built-in speaker. To do so, you need to set the TV speaker feature to ‘Off’ in the TV’s menu.

To transmit a digital audio signal from the TV to an external device, connect the OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port on the TV to the optical audio input on your digital audio system using an optical audio cable.

NOTE: Do not look into the optical output port, as looking at the laser beam may damage your vision.

Connect a USB storage device such as a USB flash memory, external hard drive, or a USB memory card reader to one of the USB IN ports on the TV. You can then access the Smart Share menu to use various multimedia files.

• To store apps on a USB storage device, connect it to the USB IN 3 USB Apps port.

• To use a USB Hub device, connect it to the USB IN 2 USB Hub port.

• Some USB Hubs may not work. If a USB device connected through a Hub is not detected, connect it directly to a USB port on the TV.

The Magic Remote Control allows you to control your TV by pointing and clicking.

• POWER: Turns the TV on or off.

• BACK: Returns to the previous level.

• Wheel (OK): Selects menus or options and confirms your input. Scrolls through saved channels.

• Pointer (RF & Bluetooth transmitter): A pointer appears on the screen, which you can move by moving the remote. The light on the remote blinks when operating.

• HOME: Accesses the Home menu.

• Navigation buttons (up/down/left/right): Scrolls through menus or options.

• VOL + / – : Adjusts the volume level.

• CH ^ / v : Scrolls through the saved channels.

• MUTE: Mutes all sounds.

• MY APPS: Shows the list of Apps.

• Q.MENU: Accesses the quick menu.

• 3D: Used for viewing 3D video.

If the pointer disappears, shake the Magic remote control from side to side to make it reappear.

How to Register:

To register the remote control, press the Wheel (OK) button on the remote control while pointing it at the TV.

How to Re-register after Registration Failure:

1. Press and hold the BACK and HOME buttons together for 5 seconds to reset the remote. The light on the Pointer will blink when the reset is complete.

2. Register it again by pressing the Wheel (OK) button.

Alternatively, to re-register, press and hold the BACK button for 5 seconds while pointing the remote toward the TV. The light on the Pointer will blink when the reset is complete.

• Use the remote control within the maximum communication distance (10 m, 32.8 ft). Using it beyond this distance or with an object obstructing it may cause a communication failure.

• Communication failure may occur due to nearby devices like a microwave oven or wireless LAN product, as they use the same 2.4 GHz bandwidth.

• The Magic Remote Control may be damaged or malfunction if it is dropped or receives a heavy impact.

• Take care not to bump into nearby furniture or other people when using the remote.

• It is recommended that an Access Point (AP) be located more than 1 m (3.28 ft) away from the TV to avoid frequency interference.

When you turn the TV on for the first time, the Initial Setting screen appears.

1. Connect the power cord to a power outlet.

2. In Standby mode, press the power button on the remote control to turn the TV on.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize your TV settings according to your preferences. The steps include:

• Language Selection: Select a language to display.

• Using the Magic remote control: Sets up the Magic remote control.

• Environment Selection: Select ‘Home’ for the home environment. ‘Store’ mode puts the TV in demo mode.

• Time Zone Setting: Selects the time zone and daylight saving.

• Network Connection: Sets your network to enable network-related features.

• Auto Tuning: Scans and saves available channels automatically.

• Auto Energy Saving mode Setting: Selects the Auto Energy Saving mode.

• 3D-On-Start Setting: Selects the 3D-On-Start option (For 3D TV).

• Setting is completed: Confirms the setting options.

4. When the basic settings are complete, press the Wheel (OK) button.

The User Guide allows you to more easily access detailed TV information.

1. Press the HOME button on the remote control to access the HOME menu.

2. Select User Guide and press the Wheel (OK) button.

Once in the User Guide, you can:

• View descriptions of selected menus.

• Move directly to the selected menu from the User Guide.

• Zoom in or out of the screen for better readability.

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed (+ to + , – to -).

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products.

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.

• Check if the Auto sleep feature is activated in the Time settings.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Video, which is input as below media contents is switched into the 3D screen automatically.

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend the product lifespan.

CAUTION: Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand

• To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

• Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals, such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners, or lubricants, as these may damage the screen’s finish and cause discoloration.

• Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power cord

Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

The Issue

• Flat panel displays are not always supported on proper stands or installed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

• Displays inappropriately situated on dressers, bookcases, shelves, desks, speakers, chests, or carts may fall over and cause injury.

Tune Into Safety

• Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for safe installation and use.

• Carefully read and understand all enclosed instructions for proper use.

• Don’t allow children to climb on or play with furniture and television sets.

• Don’t place flat panel displays on furniture that can easily be used as steps, such as a chest of drawers.

• Place or install the display where it cannot be pushed, pulled over, or knocked down.

• Route all cords and cables so they cannot be pulled or grabbed by curious children.

Wall Mounting

If you decide to wall mount your flat panel display, always:

• Use a mount recommended by the display manufacturer and/or listed by an independent laboratory (such as UL, CSA, ETL).

• Follow all instructions supplied by the display and wall mount manufacturers.

• If you have doubts about your ability to safely install your display, contact your retailer for professional installation.

• Make sure the wall where you are mounting is appropriate. If you are unsure, contact a professional installer.

• A minimum of two people are required for installation as flat panel displays can be heavy.
