To attach the stand to your LG 42LB561U-ZC TV, please follow these steps. Note that the image shown in the manual may differ from your TV.

CAUTION: When attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

1. Place the TV screen-down on a flat, cushioned surface.

2. Align the Stand Base (Part B) with the Stand Base (Part A) and assemble them.

3. Attach the assembled stand to the bottom of the TV.

4. Secure the stand to the TV using the provided screws. Depending on your model series, the screw type and quantity may vary:

For models LB55**, LB56**-ZE / ZC, LB62**-ZA / ZB:

– Use 4 screws of type M4 x L14.

– For 32-inch models (32LB55**, 32LB56**-ZE / ZC, 32LB62**-ZA / ZB), use M4 x L20 screws instead.

For models LB56**-ZT / ZQ, LB62**-ZE:

– Use 4 screws of type M4 x L14.

– For 32-inch models (32LB56**-ZT / ZQ, 32LB62**-ZE), use M4 x L20 screws instead.

To connect your LG 42LB561U-ZC TV to a wall antenna socket, use an RF cable (75 Ω). The antenna cable and converter are not supplied with the TV.

Notes:

– To use more than 2 TVs, use a signal splitter.

– If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the image quality.

– If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

– Supported DTV Audio formats are MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and HE-AAC.

If your LG 42LB561U-ZC is a satellite model, you can connect it to a satellite dish to a satellite socket using a satellite RF cable (75 Ω). The cable is not provided.

You can transmit video and audio signals from an external device to your LG 42LB561U-ZC by connecting the device and the TV with a Euro Scart cable. Any Euro Scart cable used must be signal shielded.

The AV1 (TV Out) port can output different signal types depending on the current input mode:

Note for 3D models: When watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode, only 2D out signals can be output through the SCART cable.

You can connect various external devices to your LG 42LB561U-ZC TV, such as HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PCs, gaming devices, and other external devices. The connection methods may differ from the model. You should connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

General Connection Tips:

– If you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder or VCR, make sure to connect the TV signal input cable to the TV through the DVD recorder or VCR.

– If you connect a gaming device, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

– In PC mode, there may be noise associated with resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

– In PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

Specific Connections:

– HDMI: For the best picture and audio quality, connect external devices like Blu-Ray players, HD Cable Boxes, HD STB, or PCs using an HDMI cable.

– USB: Connect USB storage devices or a hard drive (HDD) to the USB IN port.

– MHL: Connect a mobile phone to the HDMI IN 2 (MHL) port to view its screen on the TV.

– Headphones: Connect headphones to the H/P OUT port.

– Component/AV: Connect devices like DVD players or VCRs using component (Y, Pb, Pr) or composite (Video) cables along with audio (L/R) cables.

– Optical Digital Audio: Connect a digital audio system to the OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port.

The Joystick button, located below the TV screen, allows you to operate basic TV functions by pressing or moving it up, down, left, or right.

Basic Functions:

– Power On: When the TV is off, place your finger on the joystick button and press it once and release it.

– Power Off: When the TV is on, place your finger on the joystick button and press it once for a few seconds and release it. (If the Menu is on screen, this action will exit the Menu).

– Volume Control: Move the joystick left or right to adjust the volume.

– Programmes Control: Move the joystick up or down to scroll through saved programmes.

Note: When moving the joystick, be careful not to press it first, as this will prevent you from adjusting the volume or changing programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the joystick button one time to bring up the menu. You can then adjust menu items by moving the joystick.

– TV off: Turns the power off.

– Settings: Accesses the main menu.

– Close: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

– Input List: Changes the input source.

To prevent your LG 42LB561U-ZC from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation, please follow this advice:

– Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

– It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material it originally came in.

– Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

– When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

– Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

– When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

– When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

– Keep the TV upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it left or right.

– Do not apply excessive pressure to cause flexing or bending of the frame chassis as it may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

To prevent the TV from falling, you can secure it to a wall. This feature is not available for all models.

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

NOTE:

– Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

– Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To mount your LG 42LB561U-ZC on a wall, attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer. Ensure you use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard.

CAUTION:

– Disconnect the power first, then move or install the TV. Otherwise, an electric shock may occur.

– If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

– Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

– Use the screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

Wall Mounting Bracket Specifications (Separate Purchase):

Note for 42LB55**, 42LB56**, 42LB62** models: Use the provided Wall Mount Spacers during installation.

The descriptions are based on the buttons on the remote control for LB55** and LB56** series. Make sure to point the remote control toward the remote control sensor on the TV.

To automatically tune the programmes on your LG 42LB561U-ZC, navigate to SETTINGS > SETUP > Auto Tuning. This function automatically finds and stores available programmes.

– If the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work.

– Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting.

– If the Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for a password.

The Picture Wizard III feature calibrates and adjusts for optimum picture quality using the remote control without expensive pattern devices. To access it, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Wizard III. This feature may depend on the model.

To select a picture mode optimized for your viewing environment, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Mode. The available modes are:

– Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness to display vivid images.

– Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

– Eco/APS: (Depending on model) The Energy Saver feature changes settings to reduce power consumption.

– Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies and games.

– Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions by emphasizing primary colours such as white, grass, or sky blue.

– Expert 1, 2: Menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts and amateurs to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

The available range of picture modes may differ depending on the input signal.

To calibrate the screen for each picture mode or adjust picture settings, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Mode > Advanced Control / Expert Control. First, select a Picture Mode, then you can adjust the following settings:

– Dynamic Contrast: Adjusts the contrast to the optimal level according to the image brightness.

– Dynamic Colour: Adjusts colours to make the image appear more natural.

– Skin Colour: Sets skin colour spectrum separately.

– Sky Colour: Sky colour is set separately.

– Grass Colour: Natural colour spectrum (meadows, hills, etc.) can be separately set.

– Gamma: Sets the gradation curve.

– Colour Gamut: Selects the range of colours that can be expressed.

– Edge Enhancer: Shows clearer and distinctive yet natural edges of the video.

– Colour Filter: Filters a specific colour spectrum in RGB colours to fine-tune colour saturation and hue.

– Colour Temperature: Adjusts the overall tone of the screen.

– Colour Management System: A system for experts to adjust colour with a test pattern, selecting from six colour areas (Red / Green / Blue / Cyan / Magenta / Yellow).

The range of detailed items for adjustment may differ depending on the input signal or other picture settings.

To access additional picture options, navigate to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Mode > Picture Option. (Depending on model) These options include:

– Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise in the picture.

– MPEG Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise generated while creating digital picture signals.

– Black Level: Adjusts the brightness and contrast of the screen to suit the black level of the input picture.

– Real Cinema: Optimizes the screen for movie viewing.

– Motion Eye Care/SUPER Energy Saving: (Depending on model) Saves power consumption by adjusting the brightness corresponding to the movement of the image on the screen.

The range of available items may differ depending on the input signal.

The TruMotion feature corrects images to display smoother motion sequences. To use it, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > TruMotion. (This feature depends on the model).

– Smooth: De-judder/De-blur working on a higher range in auto mode.

– Clear: De-judder/De-blur working on a middle range in auto mode.

– User: De-judder / De-blur can be set manually. De-judder adjusts juddering, and De-blur adjusts and eliminates blurring of the screen.

To reduce power consumption by adjusting screen brightness, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Energy Saving. The options are:

– Auto: (Depending on model) The TV sensor detects ambient lighting and automatically adjusts screen brightness.

– Off: Turns off the Energy Saving mode.

– Minimum / Medium / Maximum: Applies the pre-set Energy Saving mode.

– Screen Off: The screen is turned off and only sound is played. Press any button except the Power button on the remote to turn the screen back on.

You can choose where the sound is output from your LG 42LB561U-ZC.

– TV Speaker: Go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > TV Speaker. Sound is output through the TV speaker.

– External Speaker (Optical): Go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > External Speaker (Optical). Sound is output through the speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

– Headphone: Go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > Headphone. Sound is output through the headphone port.

– LG Sound Sync (Optical): Go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > LG Sound Sync (Optical). Connect an LG audio device to the optical digital audio output port for rich, powerful sound.

To adjust the Digital Sound Out settings for an optical connection, go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > External Speaker (Optical) > Digital Sound Out. The settings are as follows:

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu using the TV remote. This feature is only compatible with devices with the SIMPLINK logo.

To set up SIMPLINK:

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI cable (with CEC feature added).

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) > SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window appears.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK function description:

– Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

– Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it.

– Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

– Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

– Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to the HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

– Speaker: (Depending on model) Select speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set or change the TV password, go to SETTINGS > LOCK > Set Password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To reset your LG 42LB561U-ZC TV, go to SETTINGS > OPTION > Factory Reset. This will delete all stored information and reset the TV settings. The TV will turn itself off and back on with all settings reset.

– When the Lock System is in place, a pop-up window will appear and ask for the password.

– Do not turn off the power during initialization.

To safely remove a USB storage device, go to Q.MENU > USB Device. Select the USB device that you want to remove. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, you can separate the device from the TV. Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. Remove the USB storage device and then re-connect it if you need to use it again.

– Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

– For external USB HDDs, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

– It is recommended to use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

– If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on.

– Data in the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files to other devices. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend its lifespan.

CAUTION:

– Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.

– When the TV is left unattended and unused for a long time, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet to prevent possible damage from lightning or power surges.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

– To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

– To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

– Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

– Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

– Do not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.

– Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power cord:

Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

– Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

– Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

– Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed.

– Check if the product is turned on.

– Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

– Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products.

– Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.

– Check if the Automatic Standby (Depending on model) / Sleep Timer / Off Time feature is activated in the TIME settings.

– If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

– Turn the TV off/on using the remote control.

– Reconnect the HDMI cable.

– Restart the PC with the TV on.
