• Express Script: Highlight this option and press OK to proceed with the wizard.

• Exit: Highlight this option and press OK to exit the wizard without any configuration.

Step 2: Configure Pro:Centric Settings

Set up the Pro:Centric feature. You can accept the defaults by selecting Next or configure manually:

• Media Type: Select RF or IP.

• RF Configuration: If RF is selected, enter the Data Channel (1-135).

• IP Configuration: If IP is selected, enter the server IP Address and Port number.

• Pro:Centric Mode: Select GEM, FLASH, or Configuration Only.

Once finished, select Next to continue with TV configuration, or Done to save and exit the wizard.

Step 3: Complete the TV Configuration

1. Select the tuning band: Choose Cable Standard (default), Cable HRC, Cable IRC, or Air. Select Next.

2. Select the Aux inputs: Choose “Customize Inputs” to enable or disable specific inputs, or “Use Default Values” to enable all. Select Next.

3. Select the speaker configuration: Choose Pillow Only (default), TV Only, or Pillow & TV. Select Next.

4. Select the pillow speaker code: Select the appropriate brand code (e.g., Zenith Code). Select Next.

5. Choose channel access: Select “Yes” to allow direct access to channels outside the lineup, or “No” to restrict access to only the channel lineup. Select Next.

6. Run the Auto Search (Auto Tuning): Select Execute Auto Search and press OK to scan for available channels. When the scan is complete, press OK to close the pop-up window.

7. Edit the Channel Map: Select Edit Channel Map to add/delete channels, select icons, add text labels, or set up channel banks. When finished, press MENU to close the pop-up, then select Next.

8. Completion: The TV will save your settings and transfer the setup to the commercial controller (PTC). When this step is complete, the Express Script Installer Menu Wizard closes.

The Ez Download utility allows you to download multiple files (like configuration files, software updates, or a splash screen) from a USB memory device to your LG 32LY560M TV.

Before You Begin:

• Ensure the USB device is formatted with FAT format.

• Store software upgrade and splash image files in a folder named “LG_DTV” in the root directory of the USB device.

• Store TLX and TLL files in the root directory of the USB device.

Accessing and Using the Utility:

1. Turn ON the TV. If the Express Script wizard appears, exit it.

2. Insert the USB memory device into the TV’s USB port.

3. Press MENU on the Installer Remote.

4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Option menu icon (in Pass-through Mode) or the Lock menu icon (if not in Pass-through Mode).

5. Press the number “7” key a total of seven times to open the TV Manager / USB Download Menu.

6. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select Ez Download, and then press OK.

7. In the Ez Download window, a list of compatible files from the USB device will appear. Use the Up/Down arrows to highlight a file and press OK to add or remove a checkmark, selecting it for download. You can only select one of each file type (e.g., one TLX file, one CPU update file).

8. For each highlighted file, select the appropriate options on the right side of the screen. For TLX files with an FTG Channel Map, you can select Logical or Physical tuning using the green or yellow buttons on the remote.

9. When you are ready, use the arrow keys to select Apply, and then press OK.

10. A progress window will appear. Do NOT remove the USB device until the download is complete.

11. Once complete, the TV will show a “Complete” window and then either return to TV viewing or reboot (if software was installed).

12. Remove the USB memory device and verify that the configuration is correct.

To access the Installer Menu on your LG 32LY560M, follow these steps:

1. Turn ON the TV. If the Express Script Installer Menu Wizard appears, exit the wizard first.

2. Using an Installer Remote, press MENU repeatedly until the on-screen display (either the TV setup menus or the Function Menu) no longer toggles on and off.

3. Press the Installer Menu entry sequence followed by OK. The default sequence is 9-8-7-6. If this sequence has been changed via Installer Menu item 000, you will need to use the new sequence.

The Installer Menu will open, starting with item 000 INSTALLER SEQ. Note that if the TV is not in Pass-through Mode, the Installer Menu is accessible as read-only.

This procedure creates a customized Master TV Setup in Pass-through Mode, which can then be cloned to other identical TVs.

1. Turn ON the TV. Exit the Express Script Installer Menu Wizard if it appears.

2. Set Installer Menu items.

a. Access the PTC Installer Menu using the Installer Remote (default code 9-8-7-6 + OK).

b. If the TV is not in a factory default state, set Installer Menu item 117 FACT DEFAULT to 1 and press OK. This restores default settings.

c. Set item 003 BAND/AFC as appropriate for your signal (e.g., 1 for CATV).

d. Set item 027 HOSPITAL MODE as needed for your speaker configuration.

e. Configure any other necessary Installer Menu items (e.g., enable/disable Aux inputs).

f. Press OK to save your changes, then press OK again to exit the menu.

3. Set up TV features.

Press MENU on the Installer Remote to access the TV setup menus. Configure Channel, Picture, Audio, and other options as desired for the end user.

4. (For PTC/TLL file cloning only) Run Auto Tuning.

a. In the Channel Menu, select Auto Tuning and follow the on-screen instructions to scan for channels.

b. Use Channel Edit to add or delete channels as needed.

c. Use Channel Label to assign icons to channels.

5. (For PTC/TLL file cloning only) Transfer the setup to the PTC.

a. Tune to a channel (source) whose setup menu settings you want to transfer.

b. Access the Installer Menu and press 2-5-5 + MENU. The TV will transfer the setup to the PTC.

6. (Optional) Add Custom Labels.

Access the Installer Menu and press 2-5-4 + MENU to add or edit custom text labels for channels.

7. Verify the TV setup.

Check that all TV features, channel lineup, and labels are correct.

8. Set up channel banks (Optional).

Configure channel banks as desired. Note that this must be done before locking the channel lineup.

9. (Recommended) Lock the channel lineup.

Access the Installer Menu, set item 028 CH. OVERIDE to 0, and press OK to lock the channel lineup and restrict user access to channel settings.

The Master TV Setup is now complete and ready to be saved (cloned) to a USB memory device.

You can add or edit channel icons and custom text labels in the Channel-Time display only after a channel map has been transferred to the TV’s PTC (e.g., after running an Express Script or Custom Master TV Setup).

1. Use the Installer Remote to access the TV Installer Menu.

2. Press 2-5-4 + MENU on the Installer Remote to access the Channel Label Editing Menu.

3. Follow the procedures below to make your changes:

To Change a Channel’s Icon:

1. Use Channel Up/Down to select the desired channel.

2. Use the Left/Right arrow keys to select the thin letter “I” on the display.

3. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the desired icon. If you know the icon number, you can enter it with the number keys and press OK.

To Add/Edit a Channel’s Text Label:

1. Use Channel Up/Down to select the desired channel.

2. Press the Left or Right arrow key repeatedly until the numbers 1 to 7 appear. This number indicates the character position you are editing.

3. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the desired character for that position.

4. Repeat for other character positions or proceed to the next channel.

4. When you are finished, press MENU to exit the editing menu.

Channel Banks allow you to create tiered channel programming. Note that Channel Banks are not supported when the TV is in FTG Mode.

Before You Begin:

• You must have completed the Express Script Installer Menu Wizard or the Custom Master TV Setup procedure.

• Installer Menu item 028 CH. OVERIDE must be set to 1 to allow access for channel banks setup.

Accessing the Channel Preview/Banks Setup Menu:

1. Press CH. BANK on the Installer Remote. The display will show the currently active bank. Press CH. BANK repeatedly until the desired channel bank (1-4) is selected.

2. After selecting the bank, press CH. PREVIEW on the Installer Remote. The Channel Preview/Banks Setup Menu will be displayed for that bank.

Changing Channel Status:

In the menu, use the Channel Up/Down arrows to navigate to a channel. Use the Left/Right arrows to select the desired status for that channel in the currently selected bank. The options are:

• NORMAL-ADDED: Channel will appear in the channel lineup of the currently selected bank.

• NORMAL-DELETED: Channel will not appear in the channel lineup of the currently selected bank.

• BLANK-ADDED: Channel will appear in all channel banks with audio, but the video will be black (no picture).

• BLANK-DELETED: Channel will not appear in the currently selected bank, and in all other banks, it will be assigned BLANK-ADDED status.

To exit, press the CH. PREVIEW key.

Cloning involves two main processes: Learning the setup from a Master TV and Teaching it to a Target TV. This can be done with either a TLX file (for all settings) or a TLL file (for PTC-specific settings like the channel map).

Learning Setup from a Master TV:

1. Ensure the Master TV is fully set up and in Pass-through Mode.

2. Insert a FAT-formatted USB memory device into the Master TV.

3. Press MENU, navigate to the Option icon, and press “7” seven times to open the TV Manager.

4. In the TV Manager, key in 9-8-7-6 on the remote to reveal the “Learn From TV” options.

5. Use the Up/Down arrows to select Learn From TV (TLX) or Learn From TV (TLL) and press OK.

6. In the next window, you can change the last five digits of the filename if desired. Press OK to start the Learning process.

7. Wait for the progress bar to complete. Do not remove the USB device. When finished, the TV Manager menu will reappear.

8. Exit the menu and remove the USB device from the Master TV.

Teaching Setup to a Target TV:

1. Turn ON the Target TV. Ensure it is in Pass-through Mode. If the Express Script wizard appears, exit it.

2. It is recommended to restore factory defaults on the Target TV first. Access its Installer Menu, set item 117 FACT DEFAULT to 1, press OK, and then exit the Installer Menu.

3. Insert the USB device with the learned file into the Target TV’s USB port.

4. Press MENU, navigate to the Option icon, and press “7” seven times to open the TV Manager.

5. Use the Up/Down arrows to select Teach To TV (TLX) or Teach To TV (TLL) and press OK.

6. In the next window, select the Master TV Setup file you want to install and press OK.

7. Wait for the progress bar to complete. Do not remove the USB device. A “Teaching Completed” message will briefly appear.

8. Remove the USB device and verify the setup is now resident on the Target TV.

To set up the TV’s wired network connection, you must access the IP Environment Menu.

1. Access the Installer Menu on the LG 32LY560M.

2. Navigate to Installer Menu item 119 DATA CHANNEL.

3. Press 2-5-3 + MENU to launch the IP Environment Menu.

4. Use the arrow keys to select Network Connection and press OK.

5. If it’s not already connected, connect a LAN cable to the back of the TV.

6. Select Start Connection and press OK. The TV will attempt to connect to the network. By default, it is configured for DHCP.

7. If the connection is successful, a “Wired network is connected” message will appear. You can select Complete to finish.

8. If you need to set a static IP address or your network does not have a DHCP server, select Set Expert from the connection status screen and press OK.

9. In the Network Setting window, you can manually configure the IP Mode, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Mode, and DNS Server. Use the arrow keys to navigate and enter the required information.

10. Once all fields are completed, select OK at the bottom of the screen. The TV will connect using the new settings.

11. When successfully connected, select Complete to return to the IP Environment Menu.

You can use a USB memory device to upgrade the TV’s CPU or PTC software, or to download a custom splash screen.

Before You Begin:

• The USB device must be formatted with FAT.

• The upgrade file (for software) or JPEG image file (for splash screen) must be stored in a folder named “LG_DTV” in the root directory of the USB device.

• For splash screens, the image must be a baseline (not progressive) JPEG, no larger than 1 MB. For the LG 32LY560M, the maximum resolution is 1360 x 768 pixels (HD).

Procedure:

1. Turn ON the TV and insert the USB device into the TV’s USB port.

2. Press MENU on the Installer Remote.

3. Navigate to the Option menu icon (or Lock icon if not in Pass-through Mode) and press the “7” key seven times to open the TV Manager.

4. In the TV Manager menu, use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the desired action:

• For software, select Upgrade TV Software or Upgrade PTC Software.

• For a splash screen, select Logo Image Download.

5. Press OK.

6. In the next window, select the appropriate file from the list and press OK.

7. A progress window will appear. Do not remove the USB device until the process is complete.

8. When finished, the TV will display an “Updating complete” message and then automatically restart. The new software or splash screen will be active after the restart.

The method to restore factory defaults depends on the current operating mode of the TV.

If the TV is in Pass-through Mode:

You can use Installer Menu item 117 to restore the Installer Menu factory defaults and clear the channel lineup.

1. Access the Installer Menu.

2. Navigate to item 117 FACT DEFAULT.

3. Change the value to 1 and press OK.

The settings will be restored, and the value will return to 0.

If the TV is in FTG Mode:

Restoring factory defaults in FTG Mode will also reset the TV to Pass-through Mode. There are several ways to do this:

• Factory “IN-STOP”: This process requires a predefined value for Installer Menu item 117. It restores all factory defaults and reactivates the Express Script Installer Menu Wizard. You must contact technical support for the required value and procedure.

• Using a USB Device: You can “Teach” the TV a “Zero Mapped Channels” FTG Configuration (.tlx) file. This is an empty configuration file created using the FTG File Manager software. Teaching this file to the TV will restore it to Pass-through Mode.

• Using a Pro:Centric Server: If your system uses a Pro:Centric server for remote management, you can load a “Zero Mapped Channels” FTG Configuration (.tlx) file onto the server to restore multiple TVs to Pass-through Mode.

The LG Installer Remote is required to set up and operate the LG 32LY560M. Key functions include:

• POWER: Turns the TV On or Off.

• MENU: Displays and removes the TV setup menus or the Function Menu.

• NUMBER Buttons (0-9) & DASH: Used to enter channel numbers. The dash is for sub-channels.

Here are some quick tips for resolving common problems with your LG 32LY560M.

Installation Issues

• Cannot direct enter channel number: In Pass-through mode, the channel lineup may be locked. Set Installer Menu item 028 CH. OVERIDE to 1 to allow direct entry. In FTG Mode, the channel may not be in the FTG Channel Map; you must edit the map using the FTG File Manager.

• No channels present after setup: Auto Tuning (Channel Search) was not run. You must run Auto Tuning during the setup procedure for the channel lineup to be populated.

Picture and Sound Issues

• Normal picture, poor or no sound: Press the MUTE button or use Volume Up. Check that the speaker is configured correctly in Installer Menu items 020 FEATURE LEVEL and 027 HOSPITAL MODE.

Installer Remote Issues

• Remote doesn’t work: Point the remote directly at the TV’s IR sensor. Move closer to the TV. Check and replace the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Ensure the remote’s IR codes match the settings in the TV.

If you encounter issues with the Channel Banks feature, consult the following solutions.

• Cannot change channel status in menu: Channel Access was likely denied. Set Installer Menu item 028 CH. OVERIDE to 1 to allow access for channel status changes.

• Channel Preview/Banks Setup Menu does not appear: The TV setup has not been transferred to the PTC. Complete the setup wizard or the 2-5-5 + MENU step in the Custom Master TV Setup. Also, ensure Installer Menu item 028 CH. OVERIDE is set to 1.

• Cannot tune to a deleted channel: You must first select a channel bank where the channel’s status is “NORMAL-ADDED”, direct enter the channel number, then switch back to the bank where you want to activate it and change its status back to “NORMAL-ADDED”.

• “Inactive TV” message appears and TV turns OFF: The TV is set to Channel Bank 4, where all channels have been set to “NORMAL-DELETED”. Select another channel bank (1, 2, or 3) to return the TV to normal operation.

• When BANK key is pressed, TV shows Input List Menu: Channel Banks are disabled. Installer Menu item 027 HOSPITAL MODE is set to 0. You must set item 027 to an appropriate setting that enables channel banks.
