What precautions should be followed before using the LENCO MC-160?
1. Do not cover or block any ventilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf, leave 5 cm (2”) free space around the whole device.
2. Install in accordance with the supplied user manual.
3. Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, candles and other heat-generating products or naked flame. The device can only be used in moderate climates. Extremely cold or warm environments should be avoided. Working temperature between 0° and 35°C.
4. Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields.
5. Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so, simply reset and restart the device following the instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.
6. Warning! Never insert an object into the product through the vents or openings. High voltage flows through the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short circuit internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.
7. Do not use in wet or moist areas such as bathrooms, steamy kitchens or near swimming pools.
8. The device shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and make sure that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, are placed on or near the apparatus.
9. Do not use this device when condensation may occur. When the unit is used in a warm wet room with damp, water droplets or condensation may occur inside the unit and the unit may not function properly; let the unit stand in power OFF for 1 or 2 hours before turning on the power: the unit should be dry before getting any power.
10. Although this device is manufactured with the utmost care and checked several times before leaving the factory, it is still possible that problems may occur, as with all electrical appliances. How do I set up the LENCO MC-160 for the first time?
The LENCO MC-160 includes an AC/DC adaptor with an output of 12V DC 2.0A for operation.
1. Connect the speaker cables from each speaker to the back of the unit. The external speaker cables are color coded; the cable with the red connector should be put in the red hole and the white one in the white hole.
2. Extend the antenna at the back of the unit to get the best DAB/FM reception.
3. Firmly and securely insert the DC plug of the adaptor to the DC IN Jack on the back of the unit.
4. Plug the adaptor’s AC plugs into a power outlet rated at 220-240V AC~ 50 Hz. The turntable system will enter standby mode with the display ON.
The system will automatically get the time/date information from the air. If successful, the display will show the time and date. You can press the Functional knob to show the weekday. You can also set the date and time manually in the SYSTEM SET UP section.
Remark: To avoid Larsen effect or Feedback noise:
1. Put your speakers at a minimum distance of 60 cm or more from your turntable.
2. Let the dustcover open when you play a record at higher sound volume.
How do I install or replace the battery in the remote control for the LENCO MC-160?
First time use:
Remove the plastic protected sheet.
Replacing battery (Lithium CR2025):
1. Pull the battery out of the battery compartment.
2. Insert a new battery.
3. Close the cover.
CAUTION!
– Remove the battery when it has been depleted.
– Batteries contain chemical substances; dispose of them properly and avoid exposure to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
– There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced.
– Replace only with an equivalent or same type of battery.
How do I power on the LENCO MC-160 and select a mode?
Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY/VOLUME Knob on the unit or the standby key on the remote control. The default mode will be DAB mode the first time the unit is powered ON.
How do I operate the DAB radio on the LENCO MC-160?
The default mode of the system is DAB when first turned ON. You can also press the MODE key on the front panel or remote control to select DAB mode. The system will automatically scan for stations the first time it is switched to DAB mode. You can also perform automatic or manual tuning.
Automatic Tuning
1. Long press the MENU/INFO key on the front panel or remote control.
2. The display menu will show “Station scan”. You can rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| on the remote to select it.
3. Press the Functional knob or ENTER on the remote to enter the Station Scan menu.
4. The display menu will show “Full scan”. You can rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| on the remote to select it.

Manual Tuning

Radio Data System Information
During DAB mode, press the MENU/INFO key on the front panel or remote control to display the radio station information.
How do I operate the FM radio on the LENCO MC-160?
Turn on the unit and press the MODE key on the front panel or remote control to select FM mode.
Automatic Full Scan Tuning
1. During FM mode, long press the functional knob or ENTER key on the remote. The display will show the Full Scan menu.
2. Rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| on the remote to select “Yes”.
3. Press the Functional Knob or >||/ENTER key on the remote.
4. A full scan will start, and the FM stations will be stored in the FM station list.
5. You can recall the stored FM station list by long pressing the PRESET key.
6. The stored station will be shown in the menu. Rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| to select the desired station.
Automatic Station Scan Tuning
1. During FM mode, press the functional knob or ENTER key. The display will show the Station Scan menu.
2. Rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| to select “Yes”.
3. Press the Functional Knob or >||/ENTER key. Auto scan will start to the next station.
4. You can also start this function by long pressing the |<>>| key on the remote.
Manual Tuning
You can manually tune the FM frequency by rotating the Functional knob or pressing the |<>>| keys on the remote.
Audio Setting
Stereo reception is possible for stations broadcasting in stereo.
1. Press and hold the MENU/INFO key. The display menu will show “Audio setting”.
2. Press the Functional Knob or >||/ENTER key to select the menu.
3. Rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| to select “Stereo allowed” or “Forced mono” in this menu.
4. Press the Functional Knob or >||/ENTER key to confirm the setting.
How do I store and play preset DAB and FM radio stations on the LENCO MC-160?
Storing Preset Memory
1. When you have selected the desired station, press the PRESET key on the system or remote control to access the preset menu.
2. The display menu will show, “#: (Empty)”. Rotate the Functional knob or press |<>>| on the remote to select the desired preset number (1 to 20). Then, press and hold the Functional knob or ENTER key to store the station. The display will show “Preset # stored”.
Playing Preset Memory DAB/FM
1. To play a stored station, press the PRESET key to access the preset menu.

3. Press the Functional knob or ENTER key to play the stored preset station.
How do I listen to an external device via Bluetooth on the LENCO MC-160?
1. Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY/VOLUME Knob or standby key at remote control.
2. Press the MODE key at the front panel or remote control to select Bluetooth mode, the display would show ”Bluetooth”.
3. The system would go to Bluetooth pairing mode, the display would show “Connecting”.
4. The first time you use your Bluetooth device with the system, you will need to pair them together.
5. Turn your external device’s Bluetooth Setting ON. Wait a moment, then look for the Bluetooth pairing name “Lenco MC-160”. If your device asks for a password (depending on the device manufacturers, model, and software version), then enter digits “0000” and press OK.
6. Select the Bluetooth pairing name, to connect the unit. Once connected, the Display would show “Connected”.
7. You are now connected to your external device via Bluetooth.
8. Rotate the Standby/Volume Knob to adjust the sound level and adjust the volume control at your external audio device.
9. Rotate the Functional Knob at the front panel or press |<>>| keys at the remote control to select previous/next songs.
10. Press the Functional Knob at the front panel or >||/ENTER key at the remote control to pause/play the songs.
11. Long press the Functional Knob at the front panel or >||/ENTER key at the remote control to disconnect the Bluetooth connection for other device connect, you can also short press again to re-connect the last device.
This product has a bluetooth reception function, you cannot transmit any bluetooth sound with it: this means that you can receive wirelessly a bluetooth sound signal from an external source like a smartphone.
How do I play music from and record to a USB stick with the LENCO MC-160?
Listen to USB
1. Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY/VOLUME Knob or standby key on the remote control.
2. Press the MODE key to select USB mode; the display will show “USB”.
3. Connect the USB flash stick (FAT32, up to 32GB) into the USB jack at the front panel. The display will show “reading…”.
4. The system will start playback automatically.
5. Press the Functional Knob or >||/ENTER key to Pause/Play the song.
6. Rotate the Functional Knob or press |<>>| keys to select previous/next songs.
7. Long press the Functional Knob or >||/ENTER key to stop playback. You can also use the STOP key on the remote.
Recording to USB
The system can record audio from DAB/FM/AUX/Phono mode to a USB flash stick.
1. Turn on the unit.
2. Press the MODE key to select DAB, FM, Aux, or Phono mode.
3. Start the playback for the selected mode.
4. Connect the USB flash stick (FAT32 up to 32GB) into the USB jack.
5. Press the REC key on the front panel or remote control to start recording. The REC logo will be shown on the display.
6. Press the REC key again to stop recording. The REC logo will turn OFF. The system will automatically play the recorded file, which is stored as the last track on the USB flash stick.
How do I play a record on the LENCO MC-160 turntable?
1. Raise the dust cover.
2. Turn on the unit by pressing the Standby/Volume Knob or standby key on the remote control.
3. Press the MODE key to select Phono mode.
4. Place a record on the turntable platter and set the player speed to match the record speed. Note: When playing a single (a 45 rpm record) and/or records with large centre holes, use the 45 rpm adaptor.
5. Remove the needle cartridge protective cover.
Unlock the tone arm lock from the tone arm rest. Push the lift lever backward, the tone arm will gently rise up. Gently move the tone arm to the desired position over the record and the turntable platter will begin to rotate when the arm is moved towards it if the Auto Stop Control Switch is ON. Release the tone arm onto the turntable by pushing the lift lever forward and the vinyl record will begin to play.
If the Auto Control Switch is turned ON, the record will stop automatically when finished. If Auto Stop Control Switch is turned OFF, the record will NOT stop automatically when finished; you must push the lift lever backward to raise the tone arm and place it back in the rest and then turn off the power to stop the turntable from spinning.
Remark: AUTO STOP function applies to most 33RPM vinyl records. However, for very few vinyl records, it will stop when it does not come to the end, or it will not stop when it comes to the end when AUTO STOP is ON.
NOTE: If your record stops before the last track finishes, set the AUTO STOP switch to OFF. Your record will now play to the end, but you will have to stop the turntable rotation manually.
NOTE: Depending on the record length, AUTO STOP may be enabled before the end of the recording. Do not rely on AUTO STOP alone to turn off playback.
How do I listen to an auxiliary input on the LENCO MC-160?
1. Using a 3.5mm Stereo cable (not included), connect an external audio device to the AUX IN socket at the unit.
2. Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY/VOLUME Knob or standby key at remote control.
3. Press the MODE key at the front panel or remote control to select Aux mode, the display would show “AUX”.
4. Rotate the Standby/Volume Knob or VOL – & VOL + to adjust the volume and use the controls on the external audio device to control the Playback/Volume functions.
How do I use the sleep function on the LENCO MC-160?
You can set the sleep timer for the system so that it can go to standby mode after a certain amount of time.
1. Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY/VOLUME Knob or standby key at remote control.
2. Press the SLEEP key at the front panel or remote control to select the sleep timer menu.
3. Press the SLEEP key/Functional Knob at the front panel or SLEEP key/Enter key at remote control to select the time interval: 15/30/45/60/90mins/off.

Why does my LENCO MC-160 turn off automatically?
The LENCO MC-160 has an automatic stand-by feature for power saving (CE regulation). It will go automatically into standby if there is no audio signal (record or Bluetooth) for approximately 10 minutes in the following situations:
1. USB mode: Playback is under pause or stopped.
2. Bluetooth mode: No connection, or playback is paused.
3. AUX mode: No incoming signal.
4. Phono mode: Turntable rotation is stopped.
5. Any mode: Volume level is 0.
You can reactivate the system by pressing the STANDBY/VOLUME Knob on the unit or the standby key on the remote control.
How do I replace the needle (stylus) on the LENCO MC-160?
Removing the needle from the cartridge:
1. Place a screwdriver at the tip of the stylus and push downward in direction “A”.
2. Remove the stylus by pulling the stylus forward and pushing downward.
Installing the Stylus:
1. Hold the tip of the stylus and insert the stylus by pressing as shown in direction “B”.
2. Push the stylus upward as in direction “C” until the stylus locks into the tip position.
NOTES:
We advise you to clean your records with an anti-static cloth to gain maximum enjoyment from them.
We would also point out that for the same reason your stylus should be replaced periodically (approximately every 250 playback hours).
