What is the intended use of the LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0?

The intended use of your LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0 is to be ridden by one adult rider (age 16 and up) at an appropriate time and place for general transportation and/or recreational use. Any other use is prohibited. The bicycle is NOT INTENDED for off-road or mountain bicycle use, or for any kind of jumping. Riders should be proficient cyclists (ages 16+), riding on paved surfaces where the tires are always on the ground, on roadways, or dedicated bicycle-only lanes where permitted by law. Your bicycle should not be used to tow another bicycle.

What is the pre-ride safety checklist for the LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0?

Before and after each ride on your LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0, you should perform the following safety checks:

☐ Before each ride, inspect your eBike for damage. If damage is found, do not ride.

☐ Verify that the front and rear axles are secure.

☐ Check that the front and rear tire pressure is within the recommended pressure range printed on the tire sidewall.

☐ Pull the brake levers to ensure the brakes are working properly and adjust if necessary.

☐ Visually inspect the bike for damage or anything out of the ordinary.

☐ Turn on the lights, especially if riding at night.

☐ Make sure all hardware is tightened to the recommended torque specifications.

☐ Verify that the frame folding latch is securely closed and locked.

☐ Verify that the stem folding latch is securely closed and locked.

☐ Check that the handlebar stem is inserted past the minimum insertion point. The minimum insertion point is labeled near the bottom of the handlebar stem.

☐ Check that the handlebar stem collar and clamp are closed and tightened to 6 Nm or till it leaves an impression on your hand.

☐ Check that the seatpost is inserted past the minimum insertion point. The minimum insertion point is labeled on the seatpost.

☐ Check that the seatpost collar and clamp are closed and tightened to 18 Nm or till it leaves an impression on your hand.

☐ Check that the seat cannot be twisted out of position, and set the height to a safe position that makes it easy to mount and dismount the bike.

☐ Make sure the pedals are locked in a flat position.

☐ Check the condition of the chain to see if it needs cleaning or lubrication.

☐ Wear a helmet and high visibility clothing.

☐ NEVER exceed the maximum total weight limit of 330 lbs. (150 kg). The rear rack can hold a maximum of 150 lbs. (68 kg). As an example, if you have 40 lbs. (18 kg) of cargo, then the maximum weight of the rider would be 290 lbs. (131 kg).

☐ Only carry the cargo you need. More weight will drain the battery faster and affect how the bike handles.

☐ Ensure all components are properly secured.

☐ Make sure your battery is fully charged.

• Riders should wear reflective clothing at night. You may want to attach additional flashing lights to your clothing or helmet.

What should I know about the Class 2 and Class 3 labels on my LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0?

States that recognize three classes of eBikes require a label to be placed on the bicycle denoting its class, motor wattage, and top speed. Your LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0 comes as a Class 2 bicycle by default and has a label with this information posted under the carry handle, near the seat post.

• Class 2 eBike: 500W, Top Speed: 20mph

• Class 3 eBike: 500W, Top Speed: 28mph

If you change your bicycle’s top speed, you must remove the Class 2 label from the bicycle and replace it with a Class 3 label, detailing your eBike’s class, top pedal-assisted speed, and motor wattage. The Class 3 label is located directly under the Class 2 label.

1. Sit on the seat.

2. Place one heel on a pedal.

3. Rotate the crank until the pedal with your heel on it is in the down position and the crank arm is parallel to the seat tube.

Your leg should be almost completely straight. If your hips must rock for your heel to reach the pedal, the seat is too high. If your leg is bent at the knee, the seat is too low.

To adjust seat height:

1. Loosen the seatpost clamp.

2. Raise or lower the seat post in the seat tube.

3. Check that the seat is straight.

4. Re-tighten the seat post clamp to the recommended torque (18 Nm).

To adjust seat position (front/back and angle):

• Front and back adjustment: Loosen the nuts on both sides of the seat. Ensure the clamp is on the straight part of the seat rails. Tighten to the recommended torque (20 Nm).

• Seat angle adjustment: Loosen the clamp bolt to disengage any serrations, adjust the seat nose angle, then fully re-engage the serrations and tighten the clamp bolt to the recommended torque (20 Nm).

• Do not overload the bike or its accessories.

• Increased weight will increase braking distance. Plan stops accordingly.

• Both rider and passenger must wear a properly fitted and approved helmet.

• Always hold onto the bike when loading passengers. The kickstand is not for loading.

• Do not allow passengers to sit sideways, backward, stand, or kneel on the rear rack or foot pegs.

• A passenger should sit directly over or forward of the rear wheel axle, hold onto the passenger handlebars, rider’s hips, or waist (not shoulders), and keep their feet on the foot pegs when the bike is in motion.

How should I start and end my first ride on the LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0?

The acceleration of your eBike may feel faster than anticipated. Before your first ride, use the lowest level of pedal assist (PAS 1) and practice in a safe environment away from obstacles and people.

To start your ride:

1. Insert the key and turn it counterclockwise to the ON position. The key will be parallel with the frame and must remain in the bike to use.

2. Hold down the power button on the left handlebar until the display comes on.

3. Select a Pedal Assist (PAS) level using the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons. PAS 0 provides no motor assist. PAS 1 is the lowest level of assist and PAS 5 is the highest.

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS be seated on the bicycle and engage at least one brake before starting to pedal. The Pedal Assist may activate as soon as you step on the pedals.

4. Turn the key clockwise again so the key is parallel with the frame. This is the ON position, which is required to turn on the bike.

To uninstall:

• Follow the steps above in reverse order. Be sure to remove the key from the battery before removing the battery from the bicycle. When unlocking and removing the battery, take care that it does not slide out while the bicycle is folded.

What are the best practices for storing the battery of my LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU 3.0?

• Every 2-3 months, check the battery charge level and recharge to 60% if necessary.

• Leaving the battery installed on the bicycle for long-term storage is not recommended.

Always store your battery pack in a location that:

• Is in a room with a smoke alarm.

• Is away from combustible or easily flammable objects.

• Is away from heat sources.

• Is dry and well-ventilated, protected from moisture and water.
