To begin using your LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS, you first need to unlock it and then fully charge the cap.
Unlock the bottle: Press and hold the button on the cap for 5 seconds to unlock the bottle for the first time. A white light will flash to indicate it is unlocked and ready for action.
Charge the cap: Take the cap off your bottle and insert the provided LARQ USB cord into the cap. Plug the USB end into any USB wall charger or laptop USB socket until the battery is fully charged. Do not charge with any other USB cable.
What do the indicator lights on my LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS mean while charging?
The indicator light on the cap of your LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS displays the charging status:
Breathing green light: The bottle is currently charging.
Steady green light: The bottle is fully charged.
Flashing green light: The battery is low. The light will flash twice before a cleansing mode begins.
Red pulsing light: This indicates that something is wrong with the device.
How do I use my LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS to purify water?
Follow these steps to purify water with your LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS:
Step 1: Fill the bottle with clear water* up to the indicator line shown on the bottle illustration.
Step 2: Screw the cap on and press the button to start a purification cycle. Press once for Normal Mode or twice for Adventure Mode. Do not interrupt the cycle by removing the cap or pressing the button again.
Step 3: While the cycle is running, gently shake the bottle to help spread the PureVis™ light evenly. After the cycle, your water is ready to enjoy.
*Water should be clear with no sediments. Murky water should be filtered before using the PureVis™ purification.
What do the different operating light modes on my LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS mean?
The LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS uses different colored lights to indicate its status and mode:
Normal Mode: A breathing sky blue light indicates the standard purification cycle is active.
Adventure Mode: A pulsing blue light indicates the more powerful, longer purification cycle is active.
Safety Mode (Light Sensor): A steady orange light will turn on if the cap is activated while not on the bottle.
Safety Mode (Temperature): A pulsing orange light will flash if the liquid inside the bottle is too hot.
Which purification mode should I use for my LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS?
Your LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS has different modes for different situations:
Normal Mode: Use this mode when drinking water from a trusted, potable source. Press the button once to activate a 60-second cycle, indicated by a breathing sky blue light.
Adventure Mode: Use this mode when you need an extra dose of purification power. Press the button twice to activate a 3-minute cycle, indicated by a pulsing blue light.
Self-Cleaning Mode: This mode activates automatically every 2 hours to keep your bottle clean. It runs a 10-second cycle indicated by a breathing sky blue light.
How does the Travel Lock feature work on the LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS?
The Travel Lock is designed to prevent accidental activation during travel or storage. To activate or deactivate the Travel Lock, hold the button down for 5 seconds. This feature disables the automatic Self-Cleaning Mode to conserve battery life.
What are the key safety warnings and cautions for the LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS?
Please observe the following warnings when using your LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS:
• This product is not suitable for children and contains small parts.
• Caution: Ultraviolet radiation. Do not look directly at the light, as it can irritate eyes and skin.
• The LARQ Bottle cap should be used exclusively with the LARQ Bottle. Do not operate the cap unless it is screwed onto the bottle.
• Never tamper with, open, or alter the bottle or cap.
• The UV-C light is a high voltage device. Do not open, expose, or touch internal circuitry.
• Keep the product away from rain or liquid. Do not use the charger near water.
• Do not remove the cap while a purifying cycle is in progress. To cancel a cycle, press the button on top of the cap first, then safely remove it.
• Do not expose the product to temperatures below freezing or above 90°F.
• Do not allow impact to the UV-C light. If the cap or light assembly is cracked or damaged, do not operate.
How do I remove the rechargeable battery from my LARQ BOTTLE PUREVIS cap for disposal?
Only remove the battery when you intend to discard the product, and ensure it is completely empty of charge first. Follow these steps carefully:
1. Cut a cross on the silicone cover of the cap.
2. Remove the top plastic cover.
3. Pry the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) loose.
4. Cut the wires connecting the battery to the PCB.
5. Remove the battery. DO NOT puncture the battery.
6. Tape over the ends of the battery before proper disposal in accordance with local laws.
