To perform ventilations on the LAERDAL LITTLE JUNIOR, you can use either a face mask or the mouth-to-mouth technique.

Using a Face Mask:

1. Perform a head-tilt, chin-lift maneuver to open the airway.

2. Place the face mask over the manikin’s mouth and nose to create a seal, and deliver breaths.

Using Mouth-to-Mouth Technique:

1. Pinch the manikin’s nose closed.

2. Perform a head-tilt, chin-lift maneuver to open the airway.

3. Create a seal with your mouth over the manikin’s mouth and deliver breaths.


How does the compression clicker feature work on the LAERDAL LITTLE JUNIOR?

The LAERDAL LITTLE JUNIOR includes an optional audible clicker to provide feedback on compression depth.

Clicker Enabled (A): When the clicker mechanism is pushed in, a “CLICK” sound will be heard when you achieve the correct compression depth.

Clicker Disabled (B): To turn off the audible feedback, pull the clicker mechanism outwards. No click sound will be produced during compressions.


How do I remove the disposable airway from the LAERDAL LITTLE JUNIOR manikin?

Follow these steps to remove the airway system:

1. Pull up and remove the chest skin from the manikin’s torso.

2. Remove the face skin by detaching it from the head.

3. Detach the airway connector from the inside of the manikin’s mouth.

4. Gently pull the entire airway system out through the mouth opening.

5. The airway has now been removed from the chest cavity.

6. Dispose of the used airway properly.


How do I install a new airway in the LAERDAL LITTLE JUNIOR manikin?

Follow these steps to install a new airway system:

1. Ensure the chest skin and face skin are removed from the manikin.

2. Take a new airway and prepare to insert the mouth piece.

3. Insert the mouth piece of the airway system into the mouth opening of the manikin’s head.

4. Securely connect the airway inside the manikin’s mouth.

5. Lay the lung portion of the airway flat inside the chest cavity.

6. Re-attach the chest skin to the torso.

7. Re-attach the face skin to the head.


How do I install the QCPR sensor and batteries in my LAERDAL LITTLE JUNIOR?

To install the QCPR sensor and batteries, follow these steps:

1. Remove the chest skin.

2. Fold back the foam chest plate cover.

3. Lift and remove the compression plate (rib cage) from the compression spring.

4. Take the QCPR sensor and two AA batteries.

5. Insert the two AA batteries into the battery compartment on the back of the QCPR sensor, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).

6. Press the power button on the QCPR sensor to turn it on.

7. Attach the QCPR sensor to the underside of the compression plate.

8. Place the compression plate with the attached sensor back onto the compression spring inside the chest cavity.

9. Fold the foam chest plate cover back into position.

10. Re-attach the chest skin to the manikin’s torso.
