Please adhere to the following safety instructions when using your KLEENMAID LDVF70 clothes dryer:

• The appliance is not for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by children.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person.

• Do not use the tumble dryer if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.

• Check and clean the lint filter before each use. Lint must not be allowed to accumulate around the tumble dryer.

• Do not dry unwashed items.

• Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes, and wax removers should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before drying.

• Do not dry items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber-backed articles, or clothes/pillows fitted with foam rubber pads.

• Use fabric softeners as specified by their instructions.

• Never stop the dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate heat.

• The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

• The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door or sliding door that restricts the full opening of the dryer door.

• Remove all objects from pockets, such as lighters and matches.

Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources like a tumble dryer. The items become warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the oil, which creates heat. If this heat cannot escape, the items can become hot enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking, or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and create a fire hazard.

To prevent this, items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes, and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.

• The dryer uses alternating current. It can work normally when the voltage fluctuates up to 6% of the rated voltage.

• A special power socket with a capacity of ≥10A should be located close to the dryer for convenience and safety.

• The appliance corresponds to Protection Class I and must be connected to a plug with a protective conductor that has been properly installed.

• The electrical safety of the dryer is only guaranteed when it is correctly earthed. If in doubt, have your household wiring system tested by a qualified electrician.

• WARNING: The socket and grounding wire must be installed by an electrician. There must be NO connection of the grounding wire and the neutral wire, otherwise the cabinet will be charged, causing the danger of electric shock.

• WARNING: It must be ensured that this appliance is connected only to a 230vac +10%/-6% 50Hz mains power supply which continuously complies with the relevant Australian standard. Failure to do so may seriously damage the appliance.

Installation Position:

• The dryer should be placed in a ventilated area, not less than 10cm from the wall.

• It is suggested there are no obstacles within 1.5m in front of the dryer to ensure proper ventilation.

• Do not install the dryer in the open air or a place where it can be damaged by rain.

• Do not place the back of the dryer near a curtain or anything that could be moved by wind.

• Do not place the dryer near gas or flammable materials.

Level Adjusting:

• Once in its permanent position, check that the dryer is absolutely level using a spirit level.

• If it is not level, adjust the feet with a tool.

• If the dryer is not placed horizontally (lean angle no more than 2°), it may become unbalanced or not work properly.

WARNING: To avoid possible injury, use two or more people to move and install the dryer.

Step 1: Confirm all components are in the Accessory Kit. The kit includes Hooks (2), Standoffs (2), Anchor bolts (4), and an Installation positioning paper (1).

Step 2: Determine wall construction. The dryer should only be attached to a solid wall. The clearance distance in front of the wall must be more than 150cm.

Step 3: Paste the installation positioning paper to the solid wall. The bottom edge of the paper must be at least 45cm higher than the floor. Use a level to draw a base line. Ensure screw holes do not overlap with power outlets or taps. Paste the paper to the wall horizontally.

Step 4: Drill holes for anchor bolts. Using the positioning paper as a guide, drill 4 holes with a 14mm drill bit to a depth of 60mm. Pre-drill tiled walls with an appropriate 14mm drill bit.

Step 5: Fix the hook to the wall with an anchor bolt. Insert the anchor bolt and tube into the drilled holes. Attach one nut to each bolt. Hammer the 4 bolts into the holes. After hammering, remove the nuts and place a suitably sized auxiliary tube over the bolt, hammering it until the anchor tube is flush with the wall. Remove the hooks from the Accessory Kit and attach them to the bolts with a socket or wrench.

Step 6: Fix the standoffs to the clothes dryer. Place the dryer on the floor. Remove the two appropriate screws at the back of the appliance with a Phillips head screwdriver. Thread these screws through the holes in the standoffs and fasten them into the original screw holes. (Note: The screw position differs depending on whether you are hanging the dryer upright or upside down, as shown in the manual’s diagrams).

Step 7: Hang the dryer. Have 2 people lift the dryer and align the slots at the back with the hooks. Insert the hooks firmly into the slots and lower the dryer onto the hooks. (Note: The slots used differ for upright vs. upside-down hanging).

Step 8: Inverted control panel. If hanging the dryer upside down, fit the inverted control panel label over the existing control panel label if necessary.

Before Drying

1. Plug in the dryer.

2. Load the laundry.

3. Close the door.

Drying

1. Press the On/Off button.

2. Select the desired function or use the default setting.

3. Press the Start/Pause button.

After Drying

The alert buzzer will sound.

1. Unload the laundry.

2. Clean the lint filter.

3. Unplug the dryer.

1. Thoroughly spin the laundry in a washing machine. High spin speed reduces drying time and saves energy.

2. For a uniform result, sort laundry according to fabric type and the selected drying program.

3. Before drying, close zips, hooks, and eyelets, do up buttons, and tie fabric belts.

4. Do not over-dry clothes, as this can cause creases.

5. Do not dry articles containing rubber or similar elastic materials.

6. The door should only be opened after the program is completed.

7. Clean the lint filter before each use to avoid extending drying time and higher energy consumption.

8. Do not dry clothes that have been dry cleaned.

Check laundry care labels: Suitable for tumble drying (circle in a square), Normal drying process (one dot in symbol), Mild drying process (two dots in symbol), Do not tumble dry (crossed out symbol).

1. On/Off: Switches the product on or off.

2. Start/Pause: Press to start or pause the drying cycle.

3. Program: Selects different dryer cycles (1 Hour, Cotton, Synthetic, or Mix) for the most effective drying results.

4. Dryness Level: Selects from 3 levels of Intelli-Dry electronic controls: Ready to Iron, Ready to Hang, and Extra Dry.

5. Anti-Wrinkle: At the end of the drying cycle, the anti-wrinkle phase time is 30 minutes (default) or 120 minutes (if selected). The anti-wrinkle indicator will flash while this phase is active.

To activate the child lock function, press the 【Program】 and 【Dryness Level】 buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Note: “Cotton + Extra Dry” is for AS/NZS energy program.

Filter Clean (Before Each Use)

• Clean the lint filter before each use. Remove the filter by pulling it straight up.

• Use a cloth or your hands to remove lint from the filter.

• Replace the filter before using the machine. If the filter was cleaned with a damp cloth or water, ensure it is thoroughly dry before installation.

Cleaning Cabinet and Drum

WARNING! Disconnect the power cord before cleaning!

• Clean the dryer with a wet cloth dampened only with clean water.

• Do not pour water directly over the machine.

• Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners, or all-purpose cleaners as they could damage plastic surfaces and other parts.

• Before starting the dryer, dry all parts with a soft cloth.

Your KLEENMAID LDVF70 dryer has a safety cut-out switch that is activated by temperature. If the dryer is not heating, this button must be reset before it can heat again.

1. Wait 10 minutes for the dryer to cool down.

2. The safety reset button is located on the backboard of the dryer.

3. Use your finger or a pencil to press the button in until you feel it click.

The most common reason for the dryer to overheat is a blocked filter. Ensure you clean the lint filter before each cycle to prevent overheating. Other reasons for the safety switch to activate include:

• Exhaust outlets at the back of the dryer are blocked.

• The room is poorly ventilated. Open windows or a door.

• A lightweight garment (e.g., handkerchief) has been sucked over the filter.

* If the safety cutout switch is activated due to the dryer overheating it will need to be reset before the dryer will operate.
