What are the steps to assemble the steering wheel on the JOHN DEERE 208 Lawn and Garden Tractor?

Step 1. Place foam washer on steering shaft.

Step 2. Position front wheels straight ahead.

Step 3. Place steering wheel on steering shaft with single spoke straight down as shown.

Step 4. Install nut and tighten to 10 to 12 ft-lbs (13 to 16 Nm) torque.

Step 5. Lubricate inner flange on steering wheel cap with multipurpose-type grease or oil. Press cap into steering wheel hub.

Step 6. Remove adhesive back from decal and install on cap.

Step 1. Attach seat to seat springs with four 3/8 x 3/4-in. cap screws and flat washers.

Step 2. Connect seat safety switch electrical wires.
