The IMAGISTICS IM3520 can transmit with the TCP/IP protocol on a LAN. To connect it, you must use a LAN cable for Fast Ethernet 100BASE-TX (Category 5).

1. Insert one plug on the LAN cable into the connector (marked LAN) at the back of the machine.

2. Insert the other plug into the hub.

How do I install the IP Scanner software for my IMAGISTICS IM3520?

Follow these steps to install the IP Scanner software on a Windows computer:

1. Start up Windows, and then insert the utilities disk (CD-ROM) into the CD-ROM drive. The Installer dialog box should appear automatically. If it does not, double-click “My Computer”, then the CD-ROM drive icon, and then double-click “setup.exe”.

2. Click the [GO] button beside “Install IP Scanner”.

3. In the “Welcome” dialog box, check the contents and click the [Next] button.

4. In the “Choose Destination Location” dialog box, check which folder IP Scanner will be installed into, and then click the [Next] button. To change the folder, click [Browse…] and select the desired folder.

5. In the “Select Program Folder” dialog box, select the folder where IP Scanner will be registered, and then click the [Next] button.

6. The installation begins. Once complete, click the [Finish] button in the “Setup Complete” dialog box.

7. A message may appear informing you that the computer should be restarted. If so, restart the computer to complete the installation. Click [Yes] to restart immediately.

8. In the Installer dialog box, click the [Close] button.

How do I program a scanner button on the IMAGISTICS IM3520 from my computer?

1. On the computer, start up IP Scanner by navigating to “Start” → “Programs” → “IP Scanner” → “IP Scanner”.

2. If prompted by the “Connection Setting” dialog box, type in the IP address of the IMAGISTICS IM3520, and then click the [OK] button. This is not required if the IP address has already been set.

3. The main window will appear. Check that Image Receiver has started up. Normally, it starts automatically with Windows. If not, start it by navigating to “Start” → “Programs” → “IP Scanner” → “Image Receiver”.

4. In the main window, click the [Scanner Key Registration] button.

5. The “Scanner Settings” dialog box will appear. In the “Scanner Key Name” box, type in a name for the button.

6. Specify the settings for “Scan Area”, “Quality”, and “Contrast”, and then click the [Scanner Key Registration] button within the dialog box.

7. A confirmation box will appear. Click the [OK] button.

The scanner button on the copier is now programmed.


How do I scan a document from the IMAGISTICS IM3520 to my computer?

After programming a scanner button, you can scan documents from the copier.

1. Position the document(s) to be scanned on the glass or in the document feeder.

2. Press the [Extra Scan] key on the copier’s control panel.

3. Touch the scanner button on the touch screen that corresponds to the destination of the scan (the computer you programmed).

4. Press the [Start] key.

Note: Only one scanner button can be programmed from a single computer (with the same IP address). A maximum of six scanner buttons can be programmed on a copier.

The transmitted image is received by the Image Receiver and saved by IP Scanner as an image file in the “My Images” folder.

To view the image:

1. Open the IP Scanner application on your computer.

2. In the main window, navigate to the folder where the image file is saved.

3. Select the image file you wish to view, and then double-click it.

The software on your computer corresponding to the TIFF or PDF file format will start up and display the image.

Alternatively, you can click the [Thumbnails] button to display a list of thumbnails for all TIFF and PDF files in the open folder. Click a thumbnail to display the file.
