The ICOM CS-F3000 cloning software is designed to perform data entry, settings, and cloning for the IC-F3000/F4000 series VHF/UHF TRANSCEIVERS.

The required operating systems are Microsoft® Windows® 2000, XP or Microsoft® Windows Vista® installed on the PC.

An RS-232C serial port (D-sub 9-pin) or USB port is required on the PC.

The optional cables are the OPC-478 CLONING CABLE (RS-232C type) or OPC-478UC* CLONING CABLE (USB type).

When using the OPC-478, RS-232C type cloning cable, select “Normal” for the cloning speed setting in the [COM port] menu of the cloning software. Otherwise, a cloning error may occur.

When using the OPC-478UC, USB type cloning cable, you must install a USB driver. The driver is supplied with the OPC-478UC. See the OPC-478UC instruction manual for details.

No, the USB driver, supplied with the OPC-478UC, is not supported for Microsoft® Windows Vista® (64 bit).

Follow these steps for software installation:

1. Make sure Windows has completed its start-up, and no other applications are running.
2. Insert the CD into the CD drive.
3. Double-click the “setup.exe” contained in the CD. If “User Account Control” appears, click [Allow] to continue.
4. “Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for CS-F3000” appears. Click [Next>].
5. “User Information” appears. Type your name, your company name and the product ID number in the following manner: ID number: 328701-(6 digit serial number). Then click [Next >]. Please check the serial number on the CD. If you downloaded the software, enter the ID that was provided by the distributor.
6. “Choose Destination Location” appears, and then click [Next>]. If desired, click [Browse…] to select another destination folder before clicking [Next >].
7. After the installation is completed, “InstallShield Wizard Complete” appears, and then click [Finish].
8. Eject the CD.
9. ‘CS-F3000’ appears on the program menu, and a ‘CS-F3000’ shortcut icon appears on the desktop. To uninstall the cloning software, select the “Control Panel” in the start menu, and click the “Add or Remove Programs.” Then, select the program group ‘Icom CS-F3000’ and click [Remove].

The ID number format is 328701 followed by a hyphen and the 6 digit serial number, for example, 328701-XXXXXX.

All cloning operations are performed from the PC’s keyboard.

Make sure the transceiver power is OFF.

Connect the cloning cable as illustrated, connecting the OPC-478UC (USB type) to the USB port on the PC, or the OPC-478 (RS-232C type) to the RS-232C port on the PC. In both cases, the other end connects to the [SP] jack on the TRANSCEIVER.

Rotate [VOL] to turn the transceiver power ON.

It is recommended that you upload all the transceiver’s data before starting to enter/edit parameters, even when the transceiver is factory fresh. To do this, click, or click [Clone] in the top menu of the cloning software, and then select “Read <- TR” to start uploading.

Click [Model] in the top menu of the cloning software to select the model of the transceiver which you are going to clone.

NEVER turn OFF the transceiver and the PC while uploading/writing cloning data. Otherwise, the data could be lost or deleted.

To open the Help file, click [Help] in the top menu of the cloning software and select “Contents,” or simply push the [F1] key of the PC’s keyboard.
