What are the important safety instructions for this amplifier?

1) Read these instructions.

2) Keep these instructions.

3) Heed all warnings.

4) Follow all instructions.

5) Do not use this apparatus near water.

6) Clean only with a dry cloth.

7) Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

8) Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

9) Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

10) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

11) Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

13) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.

What do the warning symbols on the amplifier mean?

The Lightning Flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of shock to persons.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product.

What are the key features of the ValBee VBG amplifier?

The ValBee VBG is a class A guitar amp featuring a 12AX7 tube for the pre-amp and a 6L6GC tube for the power amp. It aims to deliver fat, warm clean sounds and smooth, powerful distortion characteristic of tube amps. It includes a 6.5 inch Ibanez original Power Jam speaker unit.

What precautions should be taken during use?

Do not subject the amplifier to shocks by dropping, etc., or treat it roughly in any way.

Place the amplifier carefully in a stable position. The sound may vary depending on placement.

Do not use or store the amplifier in locations subject to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures and humidity.

Reduce volume to ‘0’ or switch off power when connecting/disconnecting cables to prevent noise that could damage equipment.

To avoid fire danger, do not place liquid containers on the amp.

Leave the power turned off when not in use. Even when off, the amp is not fully insulated from the power supply if plugged in. Disconnect the power cable for extended periods of non-use.

Place the apparatus near the mains outlet for easy power cord plug removal in case of faults.

What is the INPUT jack for?

This is the standard 1/4″ input terminal. Connect your electric guitar here using a shielded guitar cable.

How does the BOOST SWITCH work?

This switch turns the overdrive circuit on or off.

How does the GAIN control function?

This adjusts the amp’s gain.

If the BOOST switch is off, increasing this control introduces natural distortion for a crunch sound.

If the BOOST switch is on, turning the control left gives a cleaner sound with less distortion. Turning it right increases distortion, sustain, and volume.

What does the BASS control adjust?

This is a shelving-type equalizer for the low-range sound area. It can boost or cut frequencies of 100Hz and lower by ±12dB.

What does the MIDDLE control adjust?

This is a peaking-type equalizer. It can boost or cut the 1.2kHz bandwidth by ±12dB.

What does the TREBLE control adjust?

This is a shelving-type equalizer for the high-range sound area. It can boost or cut frequencies of 4kHz and higher by ±12dB.

What does the PRESENCE control do?

This is an ultra-high frequency equalizer. It boosts the level of the 7kHz region up to 12dB (range is -0, +12dB).

What is the VOLUME control for?

This adjusts the overall output level of the amplifier.

How can I use the VALVE POWERED PHONES / REC OUT jack?

This 1/4″ jack serves two purposes:

1. Headphone Output: Connect headphones here. When headphones are plugged in, the built-in speaker is muted.

2. Line Output: Use this jack to send the signal to a PA system or multi-track recorder (MTR). The output is driven by the vacuum tube power amp, providing a warm, tube-amp sound.

Warning: Always turn the amp volume to 0 before connecting or disconnecting a plug in this jack. Noise and distorted signals at high volume can damage headphones, connected devices, and your hearing. Be careful not to raise the volume excessively when using headphones, as prolonged high-volume listening can damage hearing.

How should the STAND BY switch be used?

This switch turns the amplifier’s output on or off (standby).

When turning the amp on: First, turn on the main POWER switch. Allow the vacuum tubes sufficient time to warm up. Then, turn the STAND BY switch on.

When turning the amp off: First, turn the STAND BY switch off (standby). Then, turn the main POWER switch off.

How does the POWER switch work?

This switch turns the main power supply to the amplifier on and off. Ensure this switch is set to OFF when the amplifier is not in use.

Warning: Before turning the power on, make sure all volume controls are set to 0. Turning the power on with volume controls raised can produce a sudden loud noise, potentially damaging your hearing. Use caution.

How do I connect external effects devices?

Use the EFFECT SEND and EFFECT RETURN jacks.

Connect the EFFECT SEND jack (output) to the input of your effects device.

Connect the output of your effects device to the EFFECT RETURN jack (input).

What should I do if the power supply cannot be switched on?

Ensure the power cable is plugged all the way into the AC inlet on the back of the amp.

Check if the AC outlet you are using has power (e.g., plug in another device and see if it turns on).

What if the power supply switches on, but there is no sound?

Check if the VOLUME control on the amplifier is set above ‘0’.

Check if the volume control on your guitar is turned up.

Make sure the output of your guitar (or effect processor) is connected to the INPUT jack.

If using effects, try removing them and connecting the guitar directly to the amplifier to see if sound is produced.

Ensure the shielded cable between your guitar and amp is not broken. Try using a different cable if possible.

What can I do if I hear noise?

Check if the plug cover on the shielded cable is loose.

Check if anything nearby is resonating or vibrating against the amplifier.

If using compact effects pedals between the guitar and amp, remove them all and check if noise occurs with only the guitar and amp connected.

Ensure the shielded cable between your guitar and amp is not broken. Try using a different cable.

Make sure the guitar’s action (string height) is adjusted correctly. If the action is too low, strings might buzz against the fingerboard, causing noise.

Why is there no sound in the headphones?

Make sure you are using stereo headphones and that they are correctly and fully connected to the PHONES / REC OUT jack.

What should I do if troubleshooting doesn’t solve the problem?

This product passed exhaustive inspections before shipping. If after checking the troubleshooting points you still cannot identify the problem, please contact the dealer where you purchased the amp. Be prepared to explain the symptoms of the problem in detail to facilitate swift handling when requesting repair.
