The HYGGER HG129-72W features several key functionalities designed for aquarium lighting:

Ultra-bright LEDs: It uses premium 5054+2835 LEDs for stable, bright illumination that enhances tank colors and promotes plant growth.

Day & Night Mode and DIY Mode: You can adjust day & night modes or a 24/7 (DIY) mode. Each mode allows for full customization of WRGB color and brightness, with flexible timing to automatically turn the light on/off. It includes a 15-minute slow ramp up and down feature.

Memory Function: An included cell battery, when installed in the controller, remembers your previous settings and the current time of day, preventing the need for reprogramming after a power failure.

Suitability: The full-spectrum LED lighting is suitable for planted and freshwater aquariums, providing the necessary light for healthy aquatic plants.

The controller for the HYGGER HG129-72W is organized into several zones and buttons:

Top Indicators: Indicator lights for DAY TIMER, NIGHT TIMER, and 24/7 TIMER mode.

Main Display: Shows the Current Time of Day. Below the main time, it displays settings for Daylight (DAY-L ON, OFF), Moonlight (MOON-L ON, OFF), and Brightness%.

Zones on Display:
– Daylight Zone (shows on/off times for daylight)
– Nightlight Zone (shows on/off times for moonlight)
– W/R/G/B Adjustment Zone (shows brightness percentages for each color)

Main Buttons:
– SET: Used to set the local time.
– D/M: Toggles between Daytime Mode and Night Mode for setup.
– 24/7: Used to set the 24/7 Mode.
– ON/OFF Icon: Manually turns the light on/off and is used for color setting during programming.

Before using the light, you should perform two initial steps:

1. Please install the included cell battery into the back of the controller. This enables the memory function.

2. Set the local time first. All programming is based on the current time you set on the controller.

Note: If the light is used for the first time in daytime and night mode, it has default settings. The light will turn on at 06:00 and turn off at 23:00.

To set the local time on the controller, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the SET icon for 5 seconds. The hour on the main digits will begin to blink.

2. Press the UP/DOWN icon to adjust the clock to the current hour.

3. Press the SET icon to set the minute. The minute on the main digits will begin to blink.

4. Press the UP/DOWN icon to adjust the clock to the current minute.

5. Press the SET icon again. “24H” on the main digits will blink.

6. Press the UP/DOWN icon to switch between 12H and 24H format. Choose your desired time format.

7. Press the SET icon to save your settings.

You can enable or disable the Daylight and Moonlight modes separately:

1. Press the D/M icon. “S1” will appear on the main display and “DAY-L ON OFF” will blink. S1 represents daylight.

2. To turn daylight on, ensure “ON” appears on the Daylight Zone. To turn it off, press the UP or DOWN icon until “OFF” appears.

3. Press the D/M icon to save the daylight setting.

4. Press the D/M icon again. “S2” will appear on the main display and “MOON-L ON OFF” will blink. S2 represents moonlight.

5. Use the same method (UP/DOWN icons) to turn the moonlight mode ON or OFF.

To customize the on/off times and color spectrum for Daylight and Moonlight modes:

1. Press and hold the D/M icon for 5 seconds. “S1” will appear and “DAY-L ON” will blink.

2. Press the D/M icon again. The hour on the daylight zone will blink.

3. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired daylight ON hour, then press D/M to save. The minute will blink.

4. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired ON minute, then press D/M to save. “Brightness % W” on the color adjustment zone will blink.

5. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the white light intensity.

6. Press the ON/OFF icon to cycle to “R” (Red). Press UP/DOWN to adjust red light brightness.

7. Press ON/OFF to cycle to “B” (Blue). Press UP/DOWN to adjust blue light intensity.

8. Press ON/OFF to cycle to “G” (Green). Press UP/DOWN to adjust green light intensity.

9. Press D/M to save the color settings. The hour for the daylight OFF time will blink.

10. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired OFF hour, then press D/M to save. The minute will blink.

11. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired OFF minute, then press D/M to save.

12. The display will now move to moonlight setting (“MOON-L ON” and “Hour” will blink). Daylight setting is complete.

13. Repeat the previous steps (adjusting ON hour/minute, colors, OFF hour/minute) to set the moonlight ON/OFF time and light color spectrum.

NOTE: When in the setting interface, if there is no operation within 30 seconds, it will automatically exit and return to the current time display. You will have to start programming again.

To activate and program the 24/7 mode, follow these steps:

1. Press the 24/7 icon. “ON” will appear on the main display, and the 24/7 indicator light will turn on. “S3” represents 24/7 mode. (To turn off 24/7 mode, press the 24/7 icon again; “OFF” will appear).

2. To program, press and hold the 24/7 icon until “S3” appears on the display. “L1” and the 24/7 indicator light will blink, and the Hour on the lower left zone (L1 ON time) will blink.

3. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired L1 ON hour.

4. Press the 24/7 icon. The minute digit will blink. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired L1 ON minute.

5. Press the 24/7 icon to set the L1 OFF time. The Hour digit on the middle zone will blink.

6. Press UP/DOWN to adjust the desired L1 OFF hour.

7. Press the 24/7 icon. “Brightness % W” on the color adjustment zone will blink. Press UP/DOWN to adjust white light intensity.

8. Press the ON/OFF icon to cycle through “R”, “B”, and “G”. Use the UP/DOWN icon to adjust the brightness for each color.

9. Follow the above steps to complete the settings for the remaining time slots, L2 through L4.

The HYGGER HG129-72W comes with the following preprogrammed default settings for the Day and Moon Light mode:

Daylight Settings:
– ON Time: 06:00
– OFF Time: 18:00
– Color Spectrum: W:100% B:100% R:100% G:100%

Moonlight Settings:
– ON Time: 18:00
– OFF Time: 23:00
– Color Spectrum: W:0% B:100% R:0% G:0%

The light cycle diagram shows a 15-minute ramp-up time starting at 6:00, full white light for 11 hours and 30 minutes, a 15-minute ramp-down to moonlight at 18:00, blue light for 4 hours and 30 minutes, and a final 15-minute ramp-down to off at 23:00.

The HYGGER HG129-72W is preprogrammed with a default 24/7 schedule as follows:

L1: 08:00 – 09:00 (W: 5%, R: 5%, G: 5%, B: 5%)

L2: 09:00 – 11:00 (W: 50%, R: 50%, G: 50%, B: 50%)

L3: 11:00 – 15:00 (W: 100%, R: 100%, G: 100%, B: 100%)

L4: 15:00 – 19:00 (W: 0%, R: 0%, G: 0%, B: 100%)

L5: 19:00 – 07:59 (W: 0%, R: 0%, G: 0%, B: 0% – Moonlight)

Note: In 24/7 mode, the light slowly ramps up to the set color and intensity during the first 15 minutes of L1 and L5. For the transitions at L2, L3, and L4, the light takes 3 minutes to ramp up.

You can operate the light manually outside of its programmed schedule.

To Turn On: When the light is off, press the ON/OFF icon to turn it on. You can then click the ON/OFF icon repeatedly to select a single color or the full spectrum light.

To Adjust Brightness: While the light is on, press the UP/DOWN icons to adjust the brightness.

To Turn Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF icon to turn the light off.

When the light is on, quick-press the ON/OFF icon twice to turn on the light color changing loop. The light will cycle through Full Spectrum-Red-Orange-Yellow-Green-Cyan-Blue-Plum.

NOTE: Do not press the button too fast. Be patient and give the light 2 seconds to catch up with your instruction.

Please observe the following points for safe and proper operation:

• Please read the user manual carefully before using and follow it strictly.

• The operating temperature range for the light is between 23°F and 113°F (-5°C to 45°C).

• Please keep the switch away from water as it is not waterproof.

• Please keep the light away from flammable items to avoid accidents.

• Please unplug the power before performing maintenance.

• Please unplug the power and contact the seller if the light is not working properly.

To avoid possible electric shock, observe the following basic safety precautions:

1. Read and follow the user manual strictly.

2. DANGER: Special care should be taken since water is used with aquarium equipment. Do not attempt to repair the light yourself. Return it to an authorized service facility or discard it.

A. If the light falls into the water, DO NOT touch it. First, unplug it, then retrieve it. If electrical components get wet, unplug the light immediately.

B. Carefully examine the light after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.

C. Do not operate the light if it has a damaged cord or plug, is malfunctioning, or has been dropped or damaged. The power cord cannot be replaced; if damaged, the light must be discarded.

3. Close supervision is necessary when the light is used near children.

4. To avoid injury, do not contact moving or hot parts.

5. Make sure the light is securely installed before operating it.

6. Read and observe all important notices on the light.

7. If an extension cord is necessary, use one with a proper rating (amperes or watts). A cord rated for less than the appliance may overheat.

8. The light is intended FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.

To avoid the possibility of the light’s plug getting wet, you should position the aquarium stand to one side of a wall-mounted outlet. A “drip loop” should be arranged for each cord connecting the light to an outlet.

The “drip loop” is the part of the cord that hangs below the level of the outlet. This loop prevents water from traveling along the cord and coming into contact with the electrical outlet.

If the plug or outlet does get wet, DO NOT unplug the cord. First, disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the light. Then, you can unplug the cord and examine the outlet for the presence of water. If you are not sure, consult a certified electrician.

AWARNING – INGESTION HAZARD: This product contains a button cell or coin battery. Death or serious injury can occur if ingested. A swallowed battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as 2 hours. KEEP new and used batteries OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to be swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body.

a) Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep away from children. Do NOT dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate.

b) Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death.

c) Call a local poison control center for treatment information.

d) The compatible battery type is CR1220.

e) The nominal battery voltage is indicated on the battery.

f) Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.

g) Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above the manufacturer’s specified temperature rating, or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury.

h) Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -).

i) Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries.

j) Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of batteries from equipment not used for an extended period of time according to local regulations.

k) Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep them away from children.

Do not dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment is necessary. This product must be disposed of at an authorized place for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances, not with domestic waste. Collecting and recycling waste saves natural resources.
