Before connecting the HONEYWELL VOYAGER XP CURVE 1400G scanner, you should turn off the computer’s power. Once the scanner is fully connected, you can then power up the computer.

To connect the HONEYWELL VOYAGER XP CURVE 1400G via USB, plug the interface cable into the bottom of the scanner and then plug the other end of the cable into a USB port on your computer.

To connect the HONEYWELL VOYAGER XP CURVE 1400G as a Keyboard Wedge, first turn off the computer. Unplug the keyboard from the computer. Connect the scanner’s Y-cable into the keyboard port on the computer, and then plug the keyboard into the other end of the Y-cable. • The view finder projects an aiming dot that should be centered over the barcode. It can be positioned in any direction for a successful read.

You can set your HONEYWELL VOYAGER XP CURVE 1400G to one of two trigger modes by scanning the corresponding barcode:

• Manual Trigger – Normal Mode (Default): You need to press the button to read a barcode. Scan the “Manual Trigger – Normal” barcode to enable this mode.

• Presentation Mode: The scanner is activated automatically when it “sees” a barcode. Scan the “Presentation Mode” barcode to enable this mode.

You can configure your HONEYWELL VOYAGER XP CURVE 1400G to add a suffix (like a carriage return or tab) after each scan, or to remove suffixes.

• To add a carriage return (CR) after the barcode, scan the Add CR Suffix barcode.

• To add a tab after the barcode, scan the Add Tab Suffix barcode.

• To remove all suffixes, scan the Remove Suffix barcode.

If you want to add a Code ID prefix to all symbologies at once, scan the “Add Code ID Prefix To All Symbologies (Temporary)” barcode from the Quick Start Guide.

When Function Code Transmit is enabled, and function codes are contained within the scanned data, the scanner transmits the function code to the terminal. When the scanner is in keyboard wedge mode, the scan code is converted to a key code before it is transmitted.

• To turn this feature on, scan the Enable (Default) barcode.

• To turn this feature off, scan the Disable barcode.

The following are abbreviated instructions for entering a data format. For complete instructions, refer to your User Guide.

Step 1. Scan the Enter Data Format symbol.

Step 2. Primary/Alternate Format: scan 0 for Primary Format.

Step 3. Terminal Type: scan 099 for any terminal type.

Step 4. Code I.D.: scan 99 for any barcode type.

Step 5. Length: scan 9999 for any length barcode.

Step 7. Scan Save to save your entries.
